Diamond Select Marvel Select Fantastic 4 Invisible Woman Figure
Transcript
00:00 I'm sure Reed can tell when Sue is lying because he can see right through her.
00:03 here's a look at the brand new diamond select Marvel select invisible woman
00:07 collectors action figure with accessories
00:11 (intro)
00:18 (opening box)
00:46 the undisputed heart of the Fantastic Four Sue often finds herself mediating
00:50 between her teammates conflicting personalities her strength spirit and
00:54 determination are perhaps the greatest among the FF and she serves as a steady
00:57 source of inspiration even in the dark times still Sue's unique powers of
01:01 invisibility allow her to slip away when the need to chart her own course
01:05 arises from time to time this 1/10 scale action figure of the invisible woman is
01:09 based on appearance in Marvel Comics it features 16 points of articulation and
01:13 multiple interchangeable accessories Sue's looking so serious just before of
01:18 course we get a closer look at the invisible woman and the all the
01:21 accessories that come included with her I'd like to thank the folks over at
01:24 diamond select that did provide this sample we could have a look at Sue Storm
01:27 or the invisible woman if you prefer is available right now in comic book stores
01:30 or online the figure is gonna stand at six and a half inches in height or the
01:35 figures 16 and a half centimeters tall now having Sue I can now say I have the
01:40 fantastic four complete though they're from different years we just recently
01:44 not that long ago in fact looked at mr. fantastic color scheme from the costumes
01:49 are pretty much exactly the same they match the blues really nicely we also
01:52 looked at the human torch and for at least right now this is gonna be my
01:56 stand-in Johnny Storm until another one gets released we also did get ourselves
02:00 as well a thing and why I say from different times this thing's pretty old
02:03 but you know he's still a good-looking thing I've had no real problems with him
02:07 he could yes be updated maybe with a slightly better bit of paint job but he's
02:11 still a nice-looking thing to complete the rest of the FF serious Sue comes
02:15 with a seriously cool amount of accessories the first thing that we'll
02:18 have a look at is the figure comes in clue with sort of what looks to be the
02:21 starting point of her making a force shield around her you only get the
02:25 bottom half of it actually kind of looks more like a flower than anything else
02:27 it's been all effectively done here using translucent plastic it sort of
02:31 looks like and it might just be the way that my studio lights are shining on it
02:33 like it's got a slight tint to it probably isn't gonna be the case at all
02:37 it does also have a post that plugs in place I've already taken the liberty
02:41 this actually comes in the packaging separately there's a hole just on the
02:44 back here and it's in between the two pegs that gonna plug into her feet if
02:47 the only criticism I could really offer is that when you put the post in I find
02:51 like the pegs are really close to her feet I mean really close to where this
02:54 will plug onto the back of the figures body if you look on the back of Sue's
02:57 body there's a hole right here that if she was shot she'd be paralyzed for sure
03:01 but this basically you just take the post and you plug it onto the back of
03:04 her body just like that and really I mean even though I mean I said that the
03:08 pegs are pretty close to the post I mean you really don't even need them I mean
03:11 she stands fine I mean really with this attached onto her back the figure isn't
03:14 gonna be going anywhere I like that they included that now obviously it probably
03:18 works a little bit better by using the translucent legs because it continues
03:22 the trend of having her again making that force field she also has a couple
03:26 of other force effects that she comes in clear with as well probably will
03:30 involve me first taking her off first she comes first let me just put her down
03:34 here get her a stand she comes with her force shield again like looking at this
03:39 doesn't look like it's got a slight tint color to it but this attaches instead
03:43 of actually taking this and plugging onto the end of her hand she actually
03:46 already has a hand that's molded onto the back of it so you're gonna take this
03:50 side of the figures body we're gonna remove this and with the way that she is
03:54 right now you can see that they've already given her forearms that start
03:57 clear trans translucent plastic and they sort of transition their way into
04:00 darker plastic if you prefer though she comes also includes some other forearms
04:04 too but we're gonna go ahead and just attach her hand let's just bring her arm
04:07 up a little bit here and that just plugs in place it's the only hand actually
04:11 that's the clear plastic that doesn't actually have a opaque plastic peg what
04:16 do I mean by that I'm just gonna put the figure down if you look at actually all
04:18 of the hands one of the big no-no's of using clear plastic is if you also use
04:22 clear plastic pegs they're very susceptible to breaking diamond thought
04:26 of that by also including opaque plastic less likely to break so even though like
04:30 the hands themselves are all clear plastic less likely the pegs are gonna
04:34 be able to break on you now also speaking of hands she also comes with a
04:38 series of interchangeable hands closed fist first of all to start those off and
04:41 then she also comes with a gripping hand for holding in an accessory and then she
04:45 also has another gestured hand which this so happens to be the other side of
04:49 the other hand that we just finished pulling off don't worry she also comes
04:52 in clue with regular black hands if you want to just have her gloves on instead
04:56 the other neat thing that she comes included with I've already taken the
04:59 liberty of swapping out one of the hands I think actually when I got this out of
05:02 the packaging she had it closed fist but did already remove it in favor of a
05:05 gripping hand she does also come include a little orb now she does make these in
05:09 the comics and in the cartoon is basically this these invisible bubbles
05:13 that she then throws at people as projectiles again looking at this it has
05:17 a slight off coloring to it almost like a bit more of a rainbowish color scheme
05:21 it's probably just the way they've molded the plastic but I like the effect
05:24 that it results in but if you wanted to you can actually put this on her hand I
05:28 thought initially it was just a case you're gonna remove the hands and just
05:31 basically slide her upper form but if you wanted to still have her hand inside
05:34 of it what you'll do is you'll take the two halves and detach them like that and
05:39 then you'll take this half that has the peg that's sticking up and you basically
05:43 just slide it down her hand almost as if she's carrying it around like a tray
05:47 then you'll take the other half you want to make sure see how this has an open
05:51 circle it's gonna also match that it's gonna fit around her form just plug it
05:55 in place and now at least she has herself the orb and it still has the
05:58 hand inside so it doesn't lose the illusion of her actually being able to
06:01 project this rather than in just you know simply just sliding over top of her
06:04 form really like the look of that and of course then if you bring in the
06:07 displaced and we've already had a look at it really completes the look of Sue
06:10 Storm rather nicely let's just say this is too much for you you just don't like
06:15 the idea that she has so much translucency happening well what you can
06:18 also do too is that she has interchangeable parts so we're gonna go
06:21 ahead first of all remove this we're gonna put that off to the side we're
06:24 also going to as well carefully remove the shield and put that off to the side
06:26 and I might find myself actually putting the hand back in the thing that she also
06:31 comes included with is basically all these extra parts that are swapped out
06:36 pieces so if you prefer to have her with the fantastic four suit instead you just
06:40 pop the legs off which I'll do in a second and you replace them with the
06:43 fully costumed legs too you can also do the exact same thing with the hands as
06:47 well not only do the hands replace but also the forms as well you just take the
06:50 entire pieces off I'll do that in a second these also already have hands to
06:54 work and start things off first but she also comes include basically all the
06:58 same hands that were clear translucent before are now here molded in black
07:01 plastic instead so you've got a couple of gestured hands you've got yourself
07:04 also a couple of grabbing hands even though really she doesn't have any other
07:07 accessories than the ones we just finished looking at and she also has a
07:10 closed fist too so let's go ahead pop the things off we just finished talking
07:14 about first we're gonna remove this now I find again it's easier to keep the
07:17 fist intact because it's just a little bit more you can hold on to you kind of
07:22 have to bend it a little bit and wiggle it off the provided post I was actually
07:25 kind of surprised to see how long the post was but I guess they do that to
07:29 ensure that the arm isn't gonna be going anywhere we'll do the exact same thing
07:32 on this side as well now for mr. fantastic even though he really did
07:38 come include with so many other things like the twisted around wrapped around
07:41 body half I don't end up ultimately displaying it with that I it just I feel
07:45 it's so much extra stuff a Sue storm I might pick and choose really what I want
07:49 to display her with I'm having a harder time you know what I might just keep
07:52 this one on the only thing I would worry about the whole time I'm doing this I'm
07:56 also thinking this as well is that it's so close to the hinge joint for the
07:59 elbow that you really don't want to put too much pressure in case you break this
08:02 off the scene is where I succeeded on one side what I'll just end up doing is
08:06 maybe I'll just do that half and half so you guys can see we're gonna plug this
08:09 one in so again this is the costumed form I'm gonna swivel that onto the
08:14 provided peg you want to make sure again it's all the way on there if you're
08:17 having by the way any hard time doing this I would always certainly recommend
08:20 heating this up in hot water I've done it already but with the time that I've
08:24 spent already talking about Sue storm I think the plastic is ultimately cooled
08:28 again we're just gonna wiggle it back in place I don't have it all the way on
08:32 there and then you can also do the exact same thing with the legs so the legs is
08:36 just a case of wiggling these off these are actually a lot easier than the
08:39 forums there's the problem just it was with it is this that the forms are so
08:42 small and you know if you have for example I don't know why maybe it's just
08:46 the studio lights around me I'm getting a little bit sweaty here here but just
08:49 to kind of remove the forms with all those things in mind it's just a little
08:52 harder to take those off let's go ahead and remove those legs but the legs are
08:55 actually the easiest thing to take off and then we're just gonna take the
08:58 swappable legs you want to make sure of course the curve of the foot goes inward
09:01 we're just gonna plug that back into the provided peg and again it might be a bit
09:08 of a slot in between I might have to fix that up a little bit later and again
09:12 we're just gonna plug that in place yeah the only thing yeah I'm gonna have to go
09:15 back and probably heat this up just a little bit to ensure that the legs are
09:17 completely on there but yeah for the most part you get the idea of what Sue
09:21 could look like if you want to swap the parts out instead this whole time of
09:24 talking and swapping the one thing we haven't yet actually discussed is the
09:28 head sculpt for Sue storm now here's where I said I talked earlier about her
09:32 being so serious the face sculpt I feel while being pretty she has certainly
09:37 more of a serious stern look on her face now when we looked at say Reed Richards
09:42 we're gonna bring him back right now so you guys can see I really liked Reed
09:45 Richards head sculpt but again so serious on both of their expressions Sue
09:49 looks generally just quite ticked off I don't know if it's just something that
09:52 Reed has done or said but if she's looking like this I think Reed should be
09:56 best advised just to stay away from her completely you can see like costume
09:59 wise they're exactly the same color wise at least I mean obviously she has a
10:02 slightly thinner frame I do like the way that they've actually sculpted the M the
10:06 F logo the fantastic for logo actually sculpted so it's raised above her chest
10:11 they didn't just print it in place but you know again like the head sculpt is
10:14 good I really like the way they've sculpted the hair I feel like if
10:17 anything she's a little too serious in the face she be she could have worked a
10:21 little bit better I think being a little bit more playful colors work really well
10:24 on this figure again like you can see now because I couldn't get this one
10:27 actually off while the review was happening I'll probably have to remove
10:30 this a little bit later you can see again like it really is nice the way
10:33 they've done this in a translucent clear plastic and how it then emerges in a
10:37 more opaque plastic I don't have a hard time getting that all out the only thing
10:42 about it though is by making this clear plastic you can obviously see the post
10:46 from the hand still lodged in there I mean there's really no workaround to
10:49 that I mean I'd much rather complain about the fact that this post is visible
10:52 than complain about the peg actually breaking because they're using clear
10:56 plastic so it's just unfortunately the sacrifices that have to be made in order
10:59 to work the hands and not have them break in the process but overall like
11:03 again like other than just not getting the legs completely on there which again
11:06 I'm gonna have to fix just before we jump over to the final looks all in all
11:09 it's a good-looking suit I just I feel like if anything her face is just a
11:12 little too serious it should have been a little bit more like I said playful but
11:15 then that like the look of Sue now for articulation her head's gonna be a
11:19 little harder to rotate just because again she's got so much sculpting of her
11:22 hair here the head can look up only by that high and I know it for a second may
11:26 have looked like you missed something you really didn't miss anything the head
11:28 can't look any further up than this it can look down only by that much I missed
11:33 it okay that's as far up as it can go that's as far down as it can go I mean
11:37 she really has very limited in the way of articulation the shoulders come out
11:41 easily they work a lot easier than the neck you can bring those arms out 90
11:45 degrees you can take those arms and rotate them all the way around she has a
11:47 swivel at the bicep she has a single hinge in the elbow and the hands do
11:51 rotate back and forth I guess because the way these also peg in place you
11:54 could rotate these back and forth but again I'm just gonna have to make sure I
11:57 get that all the way on their upper torsos on a ball joint
12:00 Sue Storm also has a swivel in her waist like split out there on ball joints now
12:05 because these also peg in place they would be a swivel cut there they'd be
12:08 able to rotate these back and forth single leg only has a hinge or the leg
12:12 only is and with a single hinge in the knee rotates back and forth she has no
12:16 articulation surprisingly here in the boot I thought this could be something
12:19 that would be able to rotate but she has at least a hinge joint where you can
12:22 move the ankle back and forth and an ankle rocker as well I love Sue in the
12:27 sense that color scheme wise I mean she matches perfectly to Reed Richards that
12:31 we've already had a look at yes I still gotta have to go back and fix those
12:34 thighs I'll be fixing them shortly before we jump to final looks but again
12:37 just like bringing moving everybody over and just bringing the remaining
12:40 fantastic for I think I think Johnny Storm's off to doing other off to doing
12:45 other things let's not knock over thing in the process the thing I like really
12:49 about read the thing I really like about it's you storm as I'm trying to pick up
12:53 the paces here as I like the sculpting on the body I like the accessories that
12:57 come in clue with her as well the only thing I'm just not 100% sold on is the
13:01 sculpting of her face I think that that could have been something that could
13:03 have been worked on a little bit more but the color scheme works really well
13:06 and even though really thing is an older Marvel select figure I think the blues
13:10 match somewhat close pretty close indeed I mean other than just the fact that
13:13 thing has some additional shadowing there around his thighs it's a nice
13:17 looking sue nice-looking accessories I just think the face maybe needs a little
13:20 bit of extra work now picking up the pieces for the Invisible Woman boy I was
13:24 dropping everything near the end of that review I've got her actually more so in
13:27 her fantastic for suit and did away with most of all the translucent plastic
13:30 except for the force field shield that she has on the end of her hand I'm gonna
13:34 display it like this for right now but what I do like the diamond did with her
13:37 is that they included as many things that for me to go back and change the
13:40 things other than maybe just heating it up a little bit with a hair dryer I can
13:44 easily swap out the parts accordingly now I did have a little bit of a harder
13:47 time changing out one of the forums one of the big things about it is just that
13:51 the forms are so skinny having the pegs also so close to the hinge joint for the
13:54 elbows means that you really don't have a lot to hold on to when you're trying
13:58 to wiggle it off I had heated it up prior to hitting record but of course
14:02 with all the time I spend talking to you guys in these videos the plastic had
14:06 cooled heating it up again not only allowed me to get the forearm off and
14:10 swapping it out but it also fixed the problem of that gap space on her thigh
14:13 so if you are picking up this figure up or already have this figure and you've
14:16 had some problems oh is where I really recommend if don't struggle don't sweat
14:20 it don't just worry about it just take a hair dryer and usually that's more than
14:23 enough to heat the plastic up and then you can easily pop and change the things
14:26 out that you need to have this displayed on your shelf
14:28 so storms a nice-looking figure and it's gonna go really well with the read
14:31 virtues we've already had a look at again I have a stand-in thing and I have
14:34 a stand-in a human torch those ideally aren't probably gonna be the most
14:38 perfect renditions of those characters I probably could even find better ones out
14:41 out there on the market but for at least right now that's my stand-in fantastic
14:45 for collection I'm glad to finally have a fan a fantastic for invisible woman to
14:49 be displayed along with it she isn't perfect I mean I do like the again the
14:53 included accessories that they packed along with her ideally I think I would
14:56 have preferred a prettier looking head sculpt one that isn't as stern as what
15:00 diamond decided to give her instead but in that I think she's a nice-looking
15:03 Sue storm and I think again she's gonna go really nicely with my makeshift
15:07 ragtag fantastic for that I currently have right now had you guys had the
15:11 chance to pick up Sue storm yet let me know down below in the comment section
15:14 and if you have a fantastic for setup and be giving me some ideas I have I
15:19 feel a pretty good-looking breed Richards courtesy of the folks over at
15:21 diamond I have again a pretty decent looking Sue storm but what should I use
15:25 for a fantastic for human torch and thing let me know some ideas down below
15:29 in the comment section big thank you once again to the folks over at diamond
15:32 select that did provide this sample of the Marvel select fantastic for
15:36 invisible woman that we could have a look at this review if you guys did
15:39 enjoy this video I want to throw it a like if you guys are loving the content
15:41 you guys are seeing and you'd like to stick around for more we may be wrapping
15:45 up things right now for at least the fantastic for but there will be more
15:48 some more Marvel select reviews coming your way so making sure you're coming
15:51 back here on a regular basis as always guys thanks for watching see you guys
15:54 next time
