00:03 A new hospital is set to open in Chesterfield in a bid to reduce NHS waiting times and increase patient choice.
00:10 CHEC, one of the UK's leading providers of community healthcare,
00:14 has confirmed it will be opening a new Chesterfield hospital in summer 2024.
00:19 It is hoped that the new facility will reduce NHS waiting times and increase patient choice
00:24 by providing access to ophthalmology and gastroenterology services in the community.
00:29 The new hospital will be located at Rowland Hill House, off Boythorpe Road and close to Queen's Park,
00:35 with ample free parking and transport links.
00:38 CHEC is currently fitting out the new site with state-of-the-art clinical facilities,
00:42 complete with one ophthalmology theatre and one endoscope suite.
00:46 Working in partnership with the NHS, CHEC has more than 25 community hospitals nationwide
00:51 and says that the addition of CHEC in Chesterfield strengthens its existing Midlands stronghold,
00:56 which also includes facilities in Leicester, Northampton and Nottingham.

01:22 "It was with happiness and joy, as well as a few tears, that we have said goodbye to one of our longest residents, Storm,
