00:00 Convicted pedophile John Wayne Millwood was on his way into the federal court in Hobart last year
00:08 when he retrieved an item from his bag. As he walked past the waiting media cameras he held it
00:14 in front of his face. The item had the name of his victim on it. Just two days earlier the court had
00:21 made a suppression order that banned the publishing of any information that may tend to disclose the
00:27 victim's identity. Now the victim has asked for Mr Millwood to be found in contempt of court.
00:33 In a submission from the victim's legal counsel Mr Millwood's actions were described as having
00:39 the effect of further traumatising the victim of his crime and that Mr Millwood was well aware that
00:45 he could not disclose the identity of the victim. The court found the victim has sufficient interest
00:51 in the matter so it will be considered at a later date. At the time Mr Millwood allegedly committed
00:57 the contempt of court he was appearing in a bankruptcy hearing where the trustee was examining
01:02 the alleged shedding of his assets including property and art collection. It was alleged the
01:08 asset divestment scheme started the day after the victim indicated they would lodge a civil claim.
01:13 Mr Millwood was ultimately ordered to pay his victim 5.3 million dollars in compensation. They
01:20 have not received a cent. The bankruptcy trustee's work is continuing.
