Last month, The Star reported on the Lansdowne Estate in Sheffield where the council has locked away the wheelie bins and the bin chutes are too small for modern waste - leading to bin bags piling up in communal areas across the area.
Now the council has sent a letter to all residents telling them to use smaller bin bags, warning that they will be investigating all "flytipping", and handing out fines of up to £400.
Here, The Star speaks to residents about this ultimatum, discusses the alternatives they want to see and what the council could do to find a solution by working with residents.
