00:06 nine people alive in a cave popular with tourists called the tunnel of nine
00:10 turns. Two others were located but feared dead as rescuers pressed on
00:15 with her search friday for those still missing after the island's biggest
00:19 earthquake in 25 years. The official death toll from Wednesday's quake
00:24 still stood at 10. But the government in Hualien County, the hardest hit
00:28 area said two more people on a hiking trail were found with no signs of life.
00:33 The other deaths could not be immediately verified. More than 700
00:38 were stranded but accounted for while authorities had lost contact with 18.
00:42 As of friday, hundreds of people are still stranded around the mountains
00:46 that flank the county with roads blocked off by landslides and rockfall.
00:51 However, most are known to be safe as rescuers deployed helicopters, drones
00:56 and smaller teams with dogs to reach them.
00:58 In the meantime, panic passengers jumped into the sea to escape a raging ferry
01:05 fire in the gulf of Thailand early thursday with all 108 people on board
01:11 declared safe. The overnight ferry from Surat Thani province was about to
01:15 arrive at Kotow, a popular tourist destination off the Thai coast when one
01:20 of the passengers suddenly heard a crackling sound and smelled smoke off
01:25 the 108 people on the ferry. 97 were passengers. So that tiny official said
01:30 on facebook, the province's public relations department posted that
01:35 everyone was rescued with no casualties. Officials said the fire was since
01:40 brought under control. It began in the engine, but the cost is still being
01:44 investigated.
01:45 Israel announced on friday it would allow temporary aid deliveries into
01:52 famine threatened northern Gaza hours after the United States warned of a
01:56 sharp shift in its policy over the Gaza war. U. S. President Joe Biden told

02:10 in Gaza. Israel's war cabinet authorized temporary aid deliveries via
02:16 the Ashdod port and the areas land crossing as well as increased
02:20 deliveries from neighboring Jordan at the Karem Shalom crossing. The White
02:25 House welcomed the moves, calling them at the president's request and saying
02:28 they must now be fully and rapidly implemented.
