Trading in her suit for an apron. That's the choice made by Estelle NIKIEMA, founder of "Kimorial", a company specialising in the processing of fruit into natural juice.

It was in 2016 that Estelle NIKIEMA decided to leave her position as branch manager of the bank where she worked, to embark into entrepreneurship. Her beginnings in this field slowly but surely took shape. She started with a shop, then a restaurant, before finally creating "Kimorial" in 2021. Her company produces several types of natural juices such as mango, tangelo, tamarind, pineapple and watermelon.

In just four years of existence, Estelle NIKIEMA says that she is proud of the many awards and distinctions she has won. However, her vision remains unchanged. To position her company among the best in the agri-food and natural beverages sector in Burkina Faso.

00:00 I worked in a bank for 12 years.
00:03 In 2016, I resigned to start my own business.
00:08 I can say that entrepreneurship was born in me.
00:18 Because after my university studies,
00:23 like any other student, I looked for employment in different services.
00:27 And as it was taking so long, I started to produce small cakes at home
00:32 that I offered in different supermarkets in the square,
00:37 and also in the service cafes.
00:41 And while I was offering these cakes in the services,
00:46 I went to a bank and saw that they needed to recruit people.
00:51 I filed my application, I was pre-selected,
00:55 I passed the competition, and thank God it worked.
00:58 I joined the bank in 2004.
01:01 I worked in a bank for 12 years.
01:05 In 2016, I resigned to start my own business.
01:10 I started with a shop, and I even had a restaurant.
01:17 Then in 2021, I started to transform our fruit into natural juice.
01:24 [Music]
01:35 We transform the tangelo into pure tangelo juice.
01:40 We transform the mango into mango juice.
01:44 We also transform the tamarind into tamarind juice,
01:48 which we add pineapple for flavor.
01:51 We also transform the watermelon into watermelon juice.
01:55 And finally, we make a tangelo mango cocktail.

02:00 At one point, I wasn't well-off in the bank.
02:04 That doesn't mean my work wasn't good.
02:07 When I started the bank, I was recruited as a cashier.
02:11 But in the end, I was the director of an agency.
02:17 I did well in the bank.
02:19 But there was something missing.
02:22 I felt that my passion was catching up with me,
02:27 which was entrepreneurship.
02:28 I must say that since my wife was young,
02:32 I felt that she was very entrepreneurial.
02:37 And already in the bank, she tried to make a living
02:43 by making a few cakes.
02:47 And then, as time went on,
02:53 she improved with the involvement of other products.
02:57 And the juice came to her initiative, of course.

03:06 Honestly, I really appreciate the fact that
03:09 these are very natural, organic products.
03:12 There is no gas inside.
03:14 There is no dye.
03:15 There are no chemicals inside.
03:18 So, as long as it's very natural,
03:21 I think it's better.
03:22 I really appreciate it, especially since it's done locally.
03:26 I really appreciate that, to see that in Burkina,
03:29 we have beautiful innovations in everything that is juice.
03:33 I can say that my pride in the field of entrepreneurship
03:37 is really the price we were able to win.
03:43 I participated in the national championship
03:48 organized by the FB2S in 2022.
03:53 And I was lucky enough to be among the 10 laureates.
03:59 I also participated in the Brave Woman competition in 2023.
04:06 I was also selected as a laureate with the juice.
04:11 We are in the fourth year,
04:13 but we were able to win all these prizes.
04:18 And that's a great satisfaction for us.
04:21 It encourages us to work harder
04:24 and to say that we can position ourselves
04:28 among the best in terms of food agro,
04:33 of natural drinks in our country.
