Murlough beach Northern Ireland

Murlough Beach is a vast, five-mile stretch of golden sands nestled under the beautiful Mourne Mountains in County Down, Northern Ireland. It's part of the Murlough National Nature Reserve, which is managed by the National Trust. The beach is a popular spot for swimming, sunbathing, walking, and birdwatching.

The Murlough National Nature Reserve is home to a 6,000-year-old sand dune system, the best and most extensive example of dune heath within Ireland. There is a network of paths and boardwalks through the dunes, woodland, and heath, where you can see an array of butterflies and wildflowers. The reserve is also internationally important for wintering wildfowl and waders.
