00:00 Hello, there. Welcome to your latest broadcast from the Met Office. It's been a mixed picture
00:05 across the U.K. and it will turn more unsettled over the coming days as well. Low pressure,
00:12 well, continues to dominate the weather pattern right through the week ahead. Further low
00:17 pressure systems moving in, bringing some wet and windy weather at times and some of
00:21 that is already spreading up from the south. And Met Office yellow warning for heavy rain
00:24 across central southern parts of the U.K. pushing into Wales during the early hours
00:29 and then further rain also moving in off the North Sea into north-east England. Behind
00:35 this, some clear spells and showers following in the south. Northern Ireland clouding over
00:39 with outbreaks of rain and Scotland, after a sunny day, we'll generally see some low
00:43 clouds starting to push in from the North Sea, though western areas remaining clear.
00:48 Here, perhaps a touch of frost is possible under the clearest skies, but for the vast
00:53 majority with a lot of cloud around and the outbreaks of rain, it means a frost-free start
00:58 to Monday. However, plenty of rain across this central swathe of the U.K. Northern England,
01:04 North Wales into Northern Ireland. Some of this rain could be heavy at times. Further
01:07 south, central southern parts of England and Wales, brighter skies, but as we move through
01:11 the day, a scattering of showers developing. Some of these will be heavy, some thunder,
01:15 hail in there too. We could see some local disruption. Again, Scotland seeing some of
01:20 the best of the weather, best of the sunshine across western areas, western Highlands here.
01:25 We could see plenty of sunny spells unbroken in places. Some low cloud though still affecting
01:30 the east and later on this weather system moving into southern parts. Overall, temperatures
01:36 in the best of the sunshine reaching 14 or 15 Celsius to the south and north of this
01:41 weather front stuck under it though and it will feel quite cold, 7 or 8 degrees at the
01:46 very best, with quite a keen northeasterly breeze coming off the North Sea there. Into
01:51 the evening time, this band of rain tries to push its way northwards, could bump into
01:55 some colder air across the Scottish mountains, give some snow here for a short period of
02:00 time. Elsewhere, clear spells and scattered showers, generally dry for many parts of Wales
02:06 and central England. And in terms of temperatures, well, holding up still, variable amounts of
02:11 cloud, a little chillier perhaps than recent nights. Taking a look at Tuesday, it's going
02:17 to be a mixed picture for the day ahead. We will see plenty of sunny spells across England
02:23 and Wales, though generally as the day goes on, the cloud builds up, we will see a scattering
02:28 of showers. A different day for Scotland, cloudy here with outbreaks of rain, quite
02:32 low cloud, mist and murk and drizzle across northeastern areas making it feel quite cold
02:38 here and then later on in the day, this weather system moving into parts of Devon and Cornwall,
02:43 outbreaks of heavy rain, brisk winds moving in. And temperatures, well, in the sunshine
02:46 again around the mid-teens, but quite chilly under the cloud, particularly across the far
02:51 north of the UK, 6 or 7 Celsius across many northern parts of Scotland. Into the evening
02:57 time on Tuesday, showers start to fade away. This weather system pushes up and gives more
03:02 unsettled weather through the night and into Wednesday. If you'd like more information
03:07 on the weather where you are for the rest of the week, you can find more information
03:10 on our social media pages. But generally, it does remain unsettled. Further spells of
03:16 rain, some brisk winds at times, temperatures generally above average in the best of any
03:21 sunshine. See you again soon.
03:23 Bye.
