00:00 This is the time for all doctors in this nation to stand in solidarity, to stand in dignity
00:09 and to avoid the slavery that is whatever is going on right now.
00:13 The issues were, one, posting of interns.
00:18 Interns have not been posted.
00:20 That is also infringing the CBA 2017 to 2021 of which in Article 1A Appendix A says, "The
00:29 interns should be posted after 30 days of graduation."
00:33 As for now, they have eight months.
00:38 The issues are they're saying they don't have money.
00:41 But when we see the government expenditure, whatever they are using as a government, they
00:45 are using a bit of trillions.
00:47 They're using 359 billion just to renovate a state house.
00:53 You can see some monies which have been using in terms of corruption.
00:56 So when they say the state, they don't have money, that's we cannot say that because we
01:02 are taxpayers, we have been deducted money.
01:06 And the same time they say we don't have money.
01:08 The issues are many.
01:10 Two, is the issues of promotion.
01:14 Promotion it cut across in all counties as we speak.
01:17 As far as it concerns, cost branch has issues of promotion.
01:22 We have consultants who are still in job group N. As we speak, they are receiving the same
01:28 salaries as a normal doctor.
01:31 There are those consultants who have done even fellowship.
01:33 They are still in job group M and P. This is a really shame for this county government.
01:39 We have something called the scheme of services that they know what it is talked about.
01:45 It's a 2016 document which says a government officers has the progression, job progression
01:51 in terms of M to N, N to P, P to Q and what it suppose entails and duties.
01:57 As far as it concerns, the cabinet ministers has gone abroad on a broad daylight saying
02:03 we have enough specialists.
02:06 As we speak, Lamu County, [inaudible] it's a really shame.
02:17 Shame.
02:19 So this government, they are doing whatever they want.
02:23 If [inaudible] what does it mean?
02:28 You are going to lose mothers.
02:30 You are going to lose kids.
02:31 [inaudible]
02:32 What it's, it's two things.
02:34 For us, we have a CBA in plan.
02:38 It was signed by the national and all counties have signed the same CBA.
02:55 It's not a different one.
02:56 But now we are getting this different treatments in terms of promotion, in terms of study leave,
03:02 in terms of medical cover.
03:04 [inaudible]
03:17 This is what the [inaudible]
03:27 Now we want to put across that the time has come.
03:35 We are going to put our feet down and the only thing they understand, it's the withdrawal
03:40 of services and we have withdrawn our services.
03:44 Now we are taking these messages to the fellow doctors who are on slave in their minds.
03:49 They are working as we speak and we are telling them it is shame on you that you work as you
03:56 are, as your members are outside to fight for your rights and then you want others to
04:02 do.
04:03 [inaudible]
04:04 There are issues in terms of intimidation and this intimidation will not take them lightly.
04:14 This is a national, it's a national strike for all doctors.
04:18 [inaudible]
04:18 [silence]
