Jonathan Meese (born 1971 in Tokyo) grew up near Hamburg where he studied at the Hochschule für Bildende Künste. He lives and works in Berlin and Hamburg. With “Mama Johnny” he is now presenting his first extensive exhibition in his home town. At the center of the exhibition is an 8 meter high, 20 meter wide and 40 meter tall “Black Box” in which Meese installed the stage for the “Kokain” production at the Berliner Volksbühne. There’s also the installation “MOR”, a pink castle which Meese conceived with TAL R, the “Maldororturm”, and the “Parsival Head”. The exhibition includes collaborative works with Jörg Immendorff, Albert Oehlen and Daniel Richter. Opening reception at Deichtorhallen with play “Kokain” and after show party, Hamburg, Germany, April 27, 2006. Part 2/3.
