The Royal Air Force airdropped over 10 tonnes of food supplies into Gaza for the first time on Monday, as part of international efforts to provide life-saving assistance to civilians. An RAF A400M flew from Amman, Jordan to airdrop this aid along the northern coastline of Gaza, as part of the Jordanian-led international aid mission. Palestinians continue to face a devastating and growing humanitarian crisis in Gaza, with almost half the territory’s 2.3 million people on the brink of starvation. Report by Jonesia. 00:10 What you'll see is you'll see the SC-15 parachute
00:36 that we've got on top.
00:37 That's then connected to the outer side netting that
00:41 holds the container in place.
00:43 You'll see the black inside sack.
00:47 We then put the aid inside that sack with reinforcement boards,
00:51 again, for that structure side of things,
00:53 and some doof light down below, which essentially gives
00:56 the load some padding on impact on the ground.

01:09 But dropping aid by air is not really the total solution.
01:16 It's just another way of getting aid in.
01:18 What we really want to do is get the volume in.
01:20 And we're working with our American colleagues--
01:23 and I've got teams working on this both in the United States
01:25 and in the region--
01:26 to construct that pier and get a vast amount of aid in.
01:32 I'm talking about two, two and a half million meals
01:34 per day at that sort of level.
01:36 Again, working very hard to make sure that doesn't
01:38 fall into the hands of Hamas.

02:00 Yeah, it's a really amazing feeling.
02:02 A lot of hard work and effort went into this.
02:04 So we're really proud of what we achieved today.
