00:00 at RSPCA Victoria. So RSPCA have been running the Warrnambool Shelter on behalf of the Council
00:06 for the last 20 years and unfortunately RSPCA have been unsuccessful in that process and
00:11 Warrnambool Council are looking to explore other opportunities to run the shelter. We're
00:16 really saddened about walking away from running the shelter facility at Warrnambool Council
00:21 but also excited to continue to work with the Warrnambool Council and community through
00:26 our education programs, our vaccination days and more importantly helping those in need
00:31 through our inspectorate. So unfortunately our staff will be affected by this and there
00:36 will be redundancies but we hope to work closely with the Council in creating jobs and we will
00:42 also support them in finding other job opportunities. It's been a really difficult day for the staff
00:48 at RSPCA Victoria Warrnambool but they are looking to support the Council in that transition
00:53 to make sure that it is a smooth process and to ensure that our animals are cared for the
00:59 best they can be. So as for adoptions we will continue to run our adoption processes up
01:03 until the end of June so if you are looking for a new animal to come into your home please
01:09 come into our site, have a look and see if you fall in love with one of our furry friends
01:13 and if you are going through a difficult process and looking to surrender your pet please call
01:18 or visit our site and the lovely team will be able to talk you through and provide you
01:22 some information, maybe there's ways to keep the animal in the home with you. If that's
01:25 not an opportunity we can look at surrendering the animal with us as well up until the end
01:29 of June. So after the end of June we will continue to work really closely with the Warrnambool
01:33 Council and help provide them with any processes to ensure that the animals are cared for,
01:38 there's a high standard of welfare put in and support them through a really smooth transition.
01:44 As for volunteers they're really important for the work that we do at RSPCA Victoria
01:49 and unfortunately we don't have volunteer roles within RSPCA in this local community
01:55 right now but moving forward we'll support them in working with the council to find other
02:00 opportunities where they can volunteer and use their skill set to help the community.
02:04 It's really important to RSPCA Victoria to continue to support the communities not only
02:09 in Warrnambool but across Victoria so we'll continue to do that through our outreach programs,
02:14 that we do vaccination days, we do healthy education days and we also provide education
02:20 for primary school and high school children across the state and we've also got our
02:24 inspectorate team that deal with cruelty complaints but also provide education to those in the
02:29 Warrnambool area as well. So I'd just like to take the opportunity to thank our staff
02:33 and volunteers for their hard work and dedication for over 20 years. RSPCA Victoria would not
02:39 have been successful in Warrnambool without their dedication and hard work and also to
02:44 the community that have supported us through so many years and really making it successful.
