00:00 Certainly the coast of Caithness is up there with some of the best scenery in Scotland, if not the UK.
00:07 What I think is a magical part of the world.
00:09 The cliffs are teeming with wildlife.
00:11 It's pretty sensational actually when you think about it and I'm fortunate enough to be able to say that that's my day job.
00:17 I'm Kenneth McElroy and I'm the trail development manager for the John O'Groats Trail.
00:23 Part of my role is to ensure that the trail is made accessible or that its access is improved.
00:30 Another big part of my role is community outreach to ensure that the trail has a place in the community, that people are aware of it.
00:38 I'm always really keen to work with schools as well.
00:40 If I'm not working you can find me on a football field.
00:43 I love to play hockey. I love to surf. I love doing a bit of climbing.
00:47 Caithness is a true hidden gem.
00:50 It's got some of the best castles in the UK. It's got some of the best beaches.
00:54 The food and drink here is immense.
00:56 Whether you're interested in sport or art and culture, we've got a really fantastic art scene here.
01:01 We've got a cinema here. We have a nightclub here and it's great crap.
01:04 Lots of local pubs. Lots of independent shops.
01:08 If you just come here and enjoy yourself, you can have a very busy working life and social life.
01:14 It's just a brilliant place to live, work, visit, enjoy.
01:20 It's making strides in its own way.
01:22 People want to be up here. People want to visit here.
01:25 Because why wouldn't they? It's absolutely beautiful. It's stunning. It's dynamic.
01:28 There's so many, a whole host of opportunities, whether it's employment or recreational.
