Vertigo Releasing has confirmed that their upcoming comedy-thriller, LaRoy, Texas, will be heading to all major UK digital platforms from 12th April.
LaRoy, Texas marks the debut feature from writer, director Shane Atkinson and stars John Magaro (Past Lives), Steve Zahn (The White Lotus), Dylan Baker (Dream Scenario), Megan Stevenson (Get Shorty), Matthew Del Negro (Scandal) and Brad Leland (Deepwater Horizon).
Ray Jepsen (Magaro) is a humble co-owner of a hardware store who still can’t believe he managed to marry local beauty queen Stacy-Lynn. When his private investigator friend, Skip (Zahn), reveals to Ray that Stacy-Lynn is having an affair, Ray decides to kill himself.
He secures a gun and goes to a seedy motel parking lot to do the deed, but before he can pull the trigger, he is mistaken by a stranger for a low-rent hitman (a sinister Dylan Baker) and given an envelope full of cash and an address. Desperate to win back his self-respect and his wife, Ray decides to take the job — but soon wishes he had just killed himself.
Following its World Premiere at Tribeca, the film is currently 100% Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, with Sunshine State Complex describing LaRoy, Texas as "not only perfectly pitched, but combines vision Western tropes to create a neo-western worthy of its gunslinging heritage." and Film Inquiry praises the film's "amazing cast and the bold direction of Shane Atkinson".
LaRoy, Texas will be available on Digital Download from 12th April
