00:14 [NON-ENGLISH SPEECH]
00:18 And welcome to Fast Talk with Boy Abunda.
00:22 [NON-ENGLISH SPEECH]
00:24 To Facebook, and YouTube, and DZBB.
00:28 Welcome to the program.
00:29 [CHEERING]
00:31 [NON-ENGLISH SPEECH]
00:34 --of my exclusive interview with Senator Chiza Escudero
00:39 and Heart Evangelista, where they have revelations
00:44 about their lives.
00:46 But before that, let's go to For Today's Talk.
00:51 Happening right now, while we're talking,
00:54 the grand launch and media conference of Best Time Ever,
00:58 the new campaign of comedy, game, reality, showbiz, talk,
01:02 and infotainment unit, the GMA Entertainment Group.
01:07 [NON-ENGLISH SPEECH]
01:10 To spend time with your families and friends,
01:13 because the best times of our lives
01:15 are best spent with the people we love.
01:19 [NON-ENGLISH SPEECH]
01:31 [NON-ENGLISH SPEECH]
01:34 [NON-ENGLISH SPEECH]
01:38 I am excited to announce with pride and joy
01:44 that I will be doing a special talk show series--
01:47 [NON-ENGLISH SPEECH]
01:49 [NON-ENGLISH SPEECH]
01:50 [NON-ENGLISH SPEECH]
01:52 [NON-ENGLISH SPEECH]
01:57 This special is very personal to me,
02:00 because it answers one important question.
02:05 [NON-ENGLISH SPEECH]
02:06 Thank you.
02:15 [NON-ENGLISH SPEECH]
02:16 Has time ever been a problem for the two of you?
02:29 Do you spend enough time together?
02:33 I think yes.
02:34 [NON-ENGLISH SPEECH]
02:35 [LAUGHTER]
02:37 My pants.
02:38 [NON-ENGLISH SPEECH]
02:39 [LAUGHTER]
02:40 Oh.
02:40 [NON-ENGLISH SPEECH]
02:46 Seasonal.
02:48 Seasonal.
02:48 Like, this past few weeks has been really busy for her.
02:54 Yes.
02:54 [NON-ENGLISH SPEECH]
02:57 Milan, Paris, she went to, what, 32 shows, as you said?
03:00 Paris, Milan, it was 32.
03:01 For 20 days, I did 32 shows.
03:03 20 days, 32 shows.
03:06 OK.
03:07 So it was hectic.
03:08 It was busy.
03:09 And then she had to go straight--
03:12 [NON-ENGLISH SPEECH]
03:15 Singapore.
03:16 Singapore for a shoot again.
03:19 [NON-ENGLISH SPEECH]
03:21 [NON-ENGLISH SPEECH]
03:24 [NON-ENGLISH SPEECH]
03:25 [LAUGHTER]
03:26 [NON-ENGLISH SPEECH]
03:27 But how do you handle that?
03:30 Keep myself busy.
03:32 [NON-ENGLISH SPEECH]
03:35 [NON-ENGLISH SPEECH]
03:40 I mean, in times like--
03:41 [NON-ENGLISH SPEECH]
03:42 [NON-ENGLISH SPEECH]
03:43 More than--
03:44 [NON-ENGLISH SPEECH]
03:48 First time.
03:49 So--
03:50 [NON-ENGLISH SPEECH]
03:53 [NON-ENGLISH SPEECH]
03:56 My guess.
03:57 [NON-ENGLISH SPEECH]
04:01 Do you understand that?
04:02 [NON-ENGLISH SPEECH]
04:03 Yes.
04:04 [NON-ENGLISH SPEECH]
04:06 [LAUGHTER]
04:07 [NON-ENGLISH SPEECH]
04:10 [NON-ENGLISH SPEECH]
04:12 [NON-ENGLISH SPEECH]
04:13 [NON-ENGLISH SPEECH]
04:14 [NON-ENGLISH SPEECH]
04:15 [NON-ENGLISH SPEECH]
04:18 And then I don't remember.
04:19 I think I was out for a minute.
04:21 And then the [NON-ENGLISH SPEECH]
04:23 [NON-ENGLISH SPEECH]
04:24 I think you should not attend the show so much.
04:27 [NON-ENGLISH SPEECH]
04:29 It was work, so I have to go.
04:31 So that's when I realized, OK, you know what?
04:33 Next time I got too excited, I'm going
04:35 to have to filter out some things I shouldn't do because I--
04:39 You have to be healthy.
04:40 [NON-ENGLISH SPEECH]
04:41 Yeah.
04:42 [NON-ENGLISH SPEECH]
04:43 Yeah.
04:44 I realized.
04:45 What about money, finances?
04:47 Do you--
04:48 [NON-ENGLISH SPEECH]
04:50 Separation of property, because we have a prenup.
04:54 So what's hers is hers.
04:56 What's mine is mine.
04:59 I take care of the household.
05:02 She takes care of her shopping.
05:04 Except on certain occasions, [NON-ENGLISH SPEECH]
05:07 Let's say--
05:08 [NON-ENGLISH SPEECH]
05:10 Yes.
05:11 [NON-ENGLISH SPEECH]
05:12 The long anniversary.
05:13 [NON-ENGLISH SPEECH]
05:14 [LAUGHTER]
05:15 [NON-ENGLISH SPEECH]
05:18 You have to record it.
05:19 [NON-ENGLISH SPEECH]
05:22 [NON-ENGLISH SPEECH]
05:24 [LAUGHTER]
05:30 [NON-ENGLISH SPEECH]
05:32 [NON-ENGLISH SPEECH]
05:33 Yes.
05:34 [NON-ENGLISH SPEECH]
05:37 If she's having fun in Europe, in Paris,
05:41 then she has to find work.
05:43 [NON-ENGLISH SPEECH]
05:50 [NON-ENGLISH SPEECH]
05:51 Well, it depends.
05:58 Because if you enter there as you want to make money out of it,
06:01 I don't think it'll last very long.
06:03 But if you enter there with-- because that's just who you are,
06:07 I feel like it can last as long as you're living.
06:10 The honest truth.
06:11 You can do it forever.
06:12 Because it's you.
06:13 [NON-ENGLISH SPEECH]
06:14 You're having fun.
06:15 You're not there to just work.
06:16 I mean, work came second for me.
06:18 I feel lucky.
06:20 I feel that I'm paid to go to some shows and all of that.
06:23 But even without it, I'd still go.
06:26 So I like it so much.
06:27 Maybe I'll give myself till I'm 50.
06:30 OK.
06:31 Because I'm sure it's a consideration every time you talk to her.
06:34 The one immutable law in the business is that nothing lasts forever.
06:38 Yes.
06:39 So nothing lasts forever.
06:41 They probably won't be taking my photos.
06:43 But to begin with, it really wasn't about that.
06:46 I knew for sure that I would love to just attend the shows forever.
06:53 What's happening is a bonus.
06:54 You were also quoted to have said that if you were to be blessed with a baby,
06:57 it should be now.
07:00 Yeah.
07:02 Talk about it.
07:03 Why?
07:04 Well, it's actually a touchy--
07:06 Oh, OK.
07:07 [NON-ENGLISH SPEECH]
07:08 --after the doubting, after the questioning.
07:11 But if I were to be blessed with a baby-- and I thought it's a powerful line.
07:15 I'll tell you.
07:16 I'll be really transparent.
07:17 I'll tell you.
07:18 Actually, I said that in our interview because I was technically--
07:24 we were expecting a baby, actually.
07:26 I wasn't pregnant.
07:28 But I was expecting my only girl that I had left, eggs.
07:32 So at that time, I thought I was going to make it, but she didn't.
07:36 So that one is a bit hard for me because--
07:40 my God, it's hard.
07:42 So yeah.
07:43 So I was really preparing for her.
07:45 So I really thought that I was going to have a baby at the time.
07:48 And I felt like with everything that we went through,
07:50 it was finally going to happen, but it didn't.
07:53 But it's OK.
07:54 I mean, I'm not the type to question anything.
07:56 It's just sad because I thought I was going to be able to share what I do
08:01 with my last girl.
08:04 So it's a little hard, but I'm not questioning anything.
08:09 OK.
08:10 That's why.
08:12 I'm sorry.
08:15 What do you want to say?
08:16 Cheers.
08:17 I'm predisposed to always accept God's real voice.
08:20 That's what I told her.
08:22 If it's not now, if it's not this,
08:25 there's something better planned.
08:28 We'll just wait for that.
08:29 Actually, I cry not because I wasn't given what I want and I'm a spoiled child.
08:35 I cry because it took so hard for me to produce the egg.
08:40 And so it was hard for me to accept the fact that I gave her a name.
08:46 I actually named her.
08:48 And what was the name?
08:49 I named her Sophia Hart.
08:51 So I was very excited to have her.
08:55 But I mean, I'm blessed in so many other ways.
08:58 How can I complain?
09:00 I'm just sad because, of course, I was excited.
09:03 But I'm not complaining.
09:04 I'm not the type to complain.
09:06 When was this?
09:07 This was the time when we had our interview and then we found out right before our wedding.
09:12 So I was actually very sad.
09:14 Right before your second wedding?
09:16 Yes.
09:17 So, that's how it is.
09:20 Tough.
09:21 You can't have it all.
09:22 You can't.
09:23 You can't.
09:24 But she said, "Don't come."
09:26 There are other things.
09:28 Yeah.
09:29 You never know, I was meant to take care of a lot of people.
09:32 Just kidding.
09:35 You guys, come on.
09:37 Okay, let's do fast.
09:39 Oh my God.
09:42 We have two minutes to do this and our time begins now.
09:46 Hart, cheers.
09:49 Who's cheesier?
09:50 Cheese.
09:51 Who's lovable?
09:53 Me.
09:54 Who's the one with the warmest head?
09:56 Cheese.
09:57 Who's the one with the toughest head?
09:59 Her.
10:00 Who's the one who's forgetful?
10:02 Her too.
10:04 Who's the one who's more annoying?
10:06 Her too.
10:07 You're the one who's annoying.
10:09 Who's the one who's more annoying?
10:12 Her.
10:14 Who's the one who's jealous?
10:16 Her.
10:17 Okay, I'll accept it.
10:19 Who's the one who's more patient?
10:20 Her.
10:21 Who's the one who apologizes first?
10:23 Her.
10:24 Me.
10:25 Who's the one who gets tired first?
10:27 Her too.
10:28 Who's the one who wakes up first?
10:30 Me.
10:31 Who's the one who's the most annoying?
10:33 Her.
10:34 I'm always the one who sleeps.
10:36 I'm tired.
10:38 She's the only one who's not.
10:39 Because I'm tired.
10:41 I'm tired.
10:42 She's evolved.
10:43 I'm tired, you know.
10:44 I'm a working girl.
10:45 Okay, Hart.
10:46 Cheesy or corny?
10:47 Cheesy.
10:48 Who's the one who's the most cheesy?
10:50 Write a whole notebook full of "I love you, I love you" and the reasons why.
10:55 Rate from 1 to 10.
10:56 Sense of humor.
10:57 10.
10:58 Fashion sense.
11:00 8.
11:02 Hart, most important item in the grocery?
11:05 It's so hard.
11:07 Soy sauce.
11:09 Your starstruck moment?
11:12 Mingyu.
11:14 Mingyu in Dior.
11:16 I'm always starstruck.
11:17 Your biggest mistake?
11:18 To trust others too much.
11:23 Your greatest miracle?
11:25 Cheese is my greatest miracle.
11:27 What's written in your heart now?
11:29 Cheese forever.
11:31 Cheese forever.
11:32 Cheese.
11:33 What's the thing that makes you mad?
11:35 I'm tired.
11:37 What's the thing that makes you miss?
11:40 I'm tired.
11:41 1 to 10, what's Hart's maturity now?
11:45 Around 8.
11:46 Because you didn't agree with me on fashion.
11:49 1 to 10, what's Hart's financial discipline now?
11:52 Better than before, around 7.
11:55 Your biggest regret?
11:57 None.
11:59 Your greatest worry?
12:01 When I'm gone.
12:03 Among Hart's exes, who's more handsome?
12:06 All of them.
12:08 That's not true.
12:11 It's true.
12:12 You have the greatest, the biggest heart.
12:16 Yeah.
12:18 Who did you make jealous of?
12:20 Actually, none.
12:22 For you two, is that lights on or lights off?
12:25 Depends.
12:28 Sometimes, it's lights on.
12:29 Is that happiness or chocolates?
12:32 What does happiness mean?
12:34 Just happiness.
12:35 Chocolate!
12:39 Happiness.
12:40 I'm happy.
12:42 I'm happy because I'm deprived of dairy.
12:46 Okay, best time for happiness?
12:48 What's happiness?
12:50 Just happiness.
12:53 Any time of the day.
12:54 One question for each of you.
12:57 Go ahead.
12:58 You go first, darling.
13:00 Actually, you should ask me first.
13:03 What?
13:04 Will you still love me when I'm no longer young and beautiful?
13:06 The answer is yes.
13:07 No, for me.
13:09 We didn't get it.
13:12 Will you still love me when I'm no longer young and beautiful?
13:16 You should ask me first.
13:17 I said the answer is yes, but you didn't ask me.
13:20 So, what do you want to ask?
13:21 You ask first.
13:22 Okay.
13:24 I was thinking about…
13:25 It's too fast.
13:28 We're running out of time.
13:29 Wait.
13:30 One day, when you are no longer with me,
13:36 when I'm already 90 plus,
13:38 will you leave me a map so I can navigate my life?
13:43 Because I won't be able to navigate it.
13:45 Definitely.
13:46 I'll make you dizzy, darling.
13:48 I'll make you feel dizzy.
13:52 He won't be able to find another one.
13:54 I'll make you go back to your bed.
13:57 That's our topic.
14:00 When I'm no longer with you, will you marry me again?
14:03 Never.
14:04 Never TikTok.
14:05 Everybody, never.
14:06 Try it.
14:07 I'll pull you.
14:08 She'll go back to her bed.
14:11 I'll never get married again.
14:13 You know, you're both very public.
14:15 We are public.
14:16 Do you really care what people say?
14:18 That's number one.
14:19 Number two, cheese.
14:20 Would you ever get into fashion, Heart?
14:22 Would you ever get into politics?
14:24 These are the answers to our fast talk with Boya.
14:27 We're back in the show.
14:35 We're still with Cheese and Heart.
14:38 Thank you again.
14:39 You know, you're both very public.
14:41 Especially now, with social media and all media.
14:48 Everybody has something to say about everybody.
14:52 As public figures, how much do you care about what other people say?
14:57 In my time, about 24 years, in politics, not so much.
15:06 I think the belief is that you're a headline, it's bad, you don't want it, don't read for a week.
15:13 In a few days, it's gone.
15:15 Just tune off, especially if it's not true.
15:17 If it's true, then you shouldn't read so you won't get hurt.
15:22 But usually, it's not true.
15:24 So, it's not a problem for me.
15:27 What do you care about, in terms of opinion?
15:30 My family.
15:31 It's okay, I need you more in my life.
15:34 You can accompany me all the time.
15:37 Heart, how about you?
15:39 Do you care?
15:40 You know, before, yes.
15:42 But I've gone through the worst hells in this world.
15:47 I've been hurt by the people I most trusted the most.
15:50 So, who are these other people that I don't even know?
15:53 I've become so stubborn, so I don't.
15:56 I really don't.
15:57 You said something important earlier.
15:59 You go back to your core.
16:00 I go back to my core.
16:01 Which is very important.
16:02 Yes, I go back to my core, which is very important.
16:03 That's what you can't move.
16:05 You do what you do excellently.
16:11 There are those who will follow.
16:12 I don't know if there are those who will follow in the Philippines.
16:16 But there are those who will follow in your footsteps.
16:20 It's a big market out there.
16:22 The fashion world is huge.
16:25 Are you aware of this?
16:29 Are you aware that you're blazing the trail?
16:34 I wasn't.
16:37 How do I say it?
16:40 I'm not really aware.
16:41 I started fashion week because I'm just a girl.
16:46 I really love to wear clothes.
16:47 I felt that this was the dimension that I belonged in.
16:52 I didn't really think about whether or not other people would come.
16:57 But again, the moment I entered, I knew that there are a lot of us from different countries.
17:03 I never had a problem.
17:04 It was always such a good environment for me.
17:07 I never really thought of anything else that came after that.
17:11 A lot of people are watching us.
17:14 A lot of people are dreaming.
17:16 A lot of people are vocal.
17:18 Young people, young girls, gays would say, "I want to be heart evangelist."
17:25 "I want to follow in the footsteps of heart."
17:28 "I want to be a style maven."
17:31 "I want to be a global fashion influencer."
17:36 "I want to be like her."
17:38 What is your piece of advice?
17:40 That's really nice.
17:43 Honestly, for people to want to emulate what I'm doing, that's cool.
17:48 I feel like it's not humble when you say you inspire people.
17:53 But if it is, then that's really cool.
17:55 It's nice to hear.
17:57 It's not easy to put yourself out there.
18:01 To not play a character but be yourself.
18:05 You're so open to what people are going to say.
18:07 But at the end of the day, if it's who you are and you love what you do,
18:11 then what the hell with what other people say.
18:13 If other people want to follow you, it's a huge world to belong.
18:17 It's a party.
18:18 How competitive is your industry?
18:20 To be honest, it's not competitive.
18:23 It's not a competition.
18:24 It's not a rat race.
18:26 I never thought of it as competitive.
18:28 It only becomes competitive if you look at it.
18:31 Look at it in that sense.
18:34 I'm competitive but I'm competitive with myself.
18:36 I want to be a better version each time for myself.
18:40 Because for me, it's empowering.
18:42 But if you look at it like a competition of some sort or a contest, it's not.
18:46 It's not a contest.
18:48 It's a party.
18:49 It's a party where people go to celebrate one's individuality,
18:52 celebrate their authenticity.
18:54 So, there's no competition whatsoever.
18:57 Somebody comes along and says,
19:00 "I want to be like Heart.
19:02 I want to be bigger than Heart."
19:04 What do you want to say?
19:06 Then, by all means, go.
19:08 Honestly, I'm just...
19:10 I really love going there.
19:12 I love what it does and how I feel after I watch these art pieces on the runway.
19:17 I love studying all the creative directors and the history of it all.
19:21 That's my goal.
19:22 I grow from it as a person, as an artist.
19:25 So, it's not really my business to look left, right, back.
19:29 I used to when I was younger.
19:31 That's why I left show business.
19:32 Now, if you enter there and that's what's in your mind,
19:36 that you want to compete with other people,
19:38 then it's not authentic because that's not what it's for.
19:41 Okay.
19:42 Your journey is not easy.
19:45 It's not just about the knowledge of the public that you've gone through in the recent past.
19:50 The most important lesson that you've learned from those who were with you in the past,
19:56 from yourself,
19:58 what is that lesson?
19:59 What is that lesson?
20:00 You cannot trust the most angel-like person that comes.
20:09 Do not drink the first glass of water that someone gives to you just because you trust them.
20:15 You cannot reveal your dreams, your aspirations.
20:18 You cannot reveal your plans.
20:21 And you cannot give them the map to your success.
20:25 Because people will take advantage of your innocence and of your sincerity and your heart.
20:31 The only people that you can really trust are the ones that, you know, your family.
20:36 That's it.
20:37 Others will not look at you that way.
20:40 That map should be the only thing that Chiese can see.
20:42 Exactly.
20:44 That map is only for people.
20:45 Map and what else?
20:47 You're about to say what?
20:50 Oh, it should be me.
20:52 The blueprint, you only show the blueprint of your life to those you trust.
20:57 Basically, I told her, "Just arm's length."
21:00 People you work with, you meet outside of those who are really close to you and you grew up with, just arm's length.
21:06 But the best news is, because it's authentically you, this blueprint or this map will continuously change as you grow.
21:15 So somewhere along the way, whoever took this map will lose their way.
21:19 I'm not there anymore.
21:21 How is your friendship with Marian Rivera?
21:24 Oh, she's so, you know, Marian and I didn't have a best relationship before.
21:29 But I understand, from her point of view and from my point of view, I understand why and where it's confusing.
21:35 But she's very close to my sister Camille because their kids go to the same school.
21:40 And she sometimes takes care of my niece.
21:42 So it's very nice.
21:44 It feels really good that you're okay with the people that you weren't so good with before.
21:50 Very good.
21:51 Would you get into fashion?
21:53 No.
21:54 As a producer?
21:55 It's hard to be an aura boy.
21:57 It's hard.
22:01 When you're walking and you're confident and you think that everyone is looking at you, but no one's looking at you.
22:06 It's hard.
22:07 And then you're going to argue.
22:08 It's hard.
22:09 I remember what you said about the pictorial when you're having a hard time.
22:12 This one has a small head, a little bit of everything.
22:16 So I can be able to fight again.
22:18 No, I'm good with supporting.
22:21 Would you get into politics?
22:23 No, never.
22:24 Why not?
22:25 I cannot.
22:26 You know, people, for me, what I do is I feel like it's already in a sense soft power.
22:33 Why do I need that kind of power when I can already make a difference with what I'm doing today?
22:39 And it's my money path if you want to help.
22:42 So I'm okay.
22:43 And my points in heaven is much more important than what people see here.
22:48 When do you let her do it?
22:49 When do you let her do it?
22:51 Often.
22:52 That's why she's always complaining.
22:54 That's why now, it's all about balance.
23:00 I'm not a manager, boy.
23:03 I don't have money.
23:04 Just a jar.
23:05 I'm just a jar of money.
23:06 So, more often than not, I do, like with my kids.
23:12 I'm the eldest.
23:14 Essentially, it's a long leash.
23:17 But there is still a leash that you would use sparingly.
23:21 Maybe more of like an umbilical cord that is connected to your home base.
23:26 Maybe, no matter how far you go, there's that security cord that you'll always come back.
23:31 You're in the fashion world.
23:33 Last question.
23:34 You are in public service.
23:35 Will you guys ever retire?
23:38 Of course.
23:40 You will?
23:41 Of course.
23:42 Okay.
23:43 It's better to live a normal life and enjoy a life that's not a wheelchair boy.
23:49 You can still walk, compared to the wheelchair life where you're still working.
23:54 What you used to do.
23:56 It's something I have to face either in 2028 or in 2034.
24:02 Those are the only two choices.
24:04 Okay.
24:06 Either of the two, you would say goodbye to politics?
24:12 Yes, because nobody is indispensable.
24:14 If I can't do it, somebody else might be able to do it better.
24:17 For me, dressing up and this whole DNA of fashion and all of that, I never thought of it as a job.
24:27 I never dressed for anybody and I never dressed to impress or to earn money.
24:33 So, I don't think it's a job.
24:35 So, why do you dress up?
24:36 For myself.
24:38 And you will never retire?
24:40 And I will never retire from this.
24:41 Thank you both.
24:42 Thank you very much.
24:43 Flowers for Michai.
24:48 Thank you very much.
24:50 Cheers.
24:51 Thank you very much.
24:52 I know you have a lot of work.
24:54 Heart, thank you very much.
24:55 Thank you.
24:57 Thank you.
25:00 Naitay Kapuso, thank you very much for your continuation of your efforts and heart everyday.
25:06 Be kind.
25:07 Make your Nana and Tare proud.
25:08 #SayThankYou
25:10 And I always say here, just one, do one good thing a day and make this world a better place.
25:16 At basta sama-sama, best time ever.
25:19 Goodbye for now.
25:20 God bless.
25:21 God bless.
25:22 [cheers and applause]
