Hong Kong Family is a 2022 family drama film directed by Eric Tsang Hing-weng (曾慶宏). Main cast list includes Teresa Mo Shun-kwan (毛舜筠), Gardner Tse Kwan-ho (謝君豪), Hedwig Tam Sin-yin (談善言), Edan Lui Cheuk-on (呂爵安), Anson Lo Hon-ting (盧瀚霆), Angela Yuen Lai-lam (袁澧林) and Alice Fung So-bo (馮素波). The cast gives naturalistic performances to make this a touching film that explores communication limits in a Chinese household.
On the evening of the family’s traditional winter solstice dinner, Chun (Gardner) and Ling (Teresa), their daughter, Ki (Hedwig), and son, Yeung (Edan), and Ling's brother, Ming (Joey Leung Cho-yiu (梁祖堯), gather at Ling's mother (Alice)'s house. Tired of Chun's incompetence, losing his job when they're looking to repair and move into the house they bought with everything they had, Ling demands a divorce. While attempting to mediate between the two, Yeung gets greatly disappointed and angry with Chun. And Ming, whose business failed, has a fight with his aging mother. That becomes the last family dinner.
Eight years later, Ming's daughter, Joy (Angela), returns to Hong Kong, and the family plans for their traditional dinner on the winter solstice again. Can the years of pain and remorse bring the family together again?
