Transcript
00:00 >> Just kind of what were your overall thoughts, you guys led most of the way
00:03 and then Alabama forced overtime and then they just made, I guess, another play in
00:08 more in overtime.
00:08 So what were your overall thoughts on the way you guys play and
00:11 the competitiveness of it on the road?
00:13 >> Well, obviously it's tough to go into an environment like this and win, but
00:17 we all played hard, so that's all you can ask for.
00:21 >> I thought that was maybe your best game since you came back and
00:25 just how do you think you played?
00:27 How do you feel right now going into getting ready for the SEC tournament?
00:31 >> I feel the same as the whole team, we're going in there to try to win it,
00:36 going there to play hard, and the opportunity to go out there and
00:42 show what we can do.
00:43 >> And then just the under regulation, it looked like Makai got fouled but
00:51 he didn't get the call.
00:52 Do you feel like, I'm not getting you to try to comment on the rest, but
00:54 maybe that's not a call you don't get on the road.
00:57 Or how tough was that when Alabama kept coming back at you guys?
01:01 >> I mean, obviously, their three point shooting is dangerous, so
01:06 I feel like Kai got fouled, so that was a big point in the game.
01:10 When that was a no call, that killed it, I felt like.
01:13 >> Yeah, I might have a couple more, but I'll turn it back to Kyle if others
01:17 have questions.
01:18 >> Anthony?
01:20 [BLANK_AUDIO]
01:24 >> Yeah, Trevin, obviously, like Bob mentioned,
01:27 probably your best game since you came back from injury.
01:29 Can you just talk about how much of an emphasis it was to get you the ball kind
01:34 of in that kind of vein, and then defensively,
01:37 what was working for you as well with a couple of blocks and steals?
01:41 >> I was just trying to crash the glass all game.
01:43 The ball comes to me, it comes to me.
01:48 Just trying to play hard with the games that we have left.
01:51 But it was fun to go out there and compete.
01:56 [BLANK_AUDIO]
02:01 >> Go ahead, Bob.
02:02 >> Okay, yeah, KB, I mean, how do you feel right now in terms of,
02:08 you've been still knocking the rust off?
02:11 Or do you feel like you're kind of back to yourself?
02:13 Or just how do you feel overall about your game?
02:15 >> I feel like if I'm put in the right positions to be successful,
02:21 which I was tonight, then things like what happened tonight will happen.
02:27 But obviously, it felt good to kind of, like you said,
02:31 knock the dust off or the rust off,
02:34 obviously, I haven't been on my game recently.
02:38 >> And it seems like Eric settled on a pretty tight rotation,
02:42 which is what he likes, I think, in a perfect world with you main eight guys.
02:47 How do you think that rotation's working?
02:50 >> I feel like it worked well for us tonight.
02:55 We got guys like Davenport that can come off the bench and
02:58 shoot it, which you've seen tonight.
03:02 And then obviously, Devo Davis, we all know his background.
03:04 So that's like our seven guys that play.
03:07 And like you said, coach is gonna go with those guys, so
03:11 that's what he went with.
03:12 >> And you mentioned Jeremiah, he's obviously a shooter, but
03:15 he's been getting rebounds and making some other plays,
03:18 maybe doing some things people didn't expect.
03:20 What do you thought about Jeremiah down the stretch here and
03:22 what he's given you all and how that's helped you all?
03:25 >> Coach just tells him all the time just to keep rebounding.
03:30 And you see that out there, he goes for every rebound, every loose ball.
03:36 And that's the DNA here at Arkansas.
03:39 >> And for the tournament, you gotta play Wednesday night.
03:42 And I guess you guys are gonna get another shot at Vanderbilt,
03:44 unless I'm an idiot, which is possible, I guess.
03:47 But how do you feel about getting another shot at those guys?
03:51 >> Obviously, we feel like we should have won the first game.
03:52 So being able to get to play them again in that setting in the tournament,
03:58 we're very confident going in.
04:02 >> And Makai and KB, they've kinda carried you all offensively here in a lot of
04:07 games late during the legs, a pretty good stretch for you.
04:10 What do you thought about those two guys?
04:11 >> With KB, with him, he's just such a good scorer, man.
04:18 It's so hard to guard him, and then when he gets downhill,
04:22 it's hard not to foul him, and he's a great free throw shooter.
04:25 And then with Kai, man, whenever he's out there rebounding and
04:28 running the floor, he's a menace on the floor.
04:31 >> You gotta win this tournament, you gotta win five in five days.
04:35 I know you gotta take it one at a time, but just sorry,
04:38 what's the approach when you gotta play that Wednesday night game and
04:41 you really need to win the tournament to get the NCAA bid?
04:44 >> Man, we'll get back, everybody will get healthy,
04:50 everybody that's banged up will get healthy.
04:51 Going to that game as healthy as possible with a lot of confidence.
04:57 And like you said, we're gonna take it one at a time, so
05:00 starting with Wednesday.
05:01 >> One more if it's okay.
05:03 I know it's a tough loss, but the effort's been there really the last three weeks,
05:07 I guess, or a month or whatever it's been.
05:09 Just how good do you feel about the effort, the loss aside, and
05:12 how well you guys are playing going into the tournament?
05:15 >> All you said, man, we're playing hard.
05:19 It's just certain situations you can't control.
05:21 And we can't let things that we can't control mess with our mind.
05:30 We still gotta go play a game on Wednesday.
