00:09 Colin, just another really good start for you.
00:12 What was working for you tonight?
00:14 And a little bit of some wildness last week.
00:19 So how good was it to bounce back this week?
00:20 It was definitely good.
00:21 So my first inning wasn't everything.
00:23 It kind of wasn't there.
00:24 But second and third inning, I think everything felt good.
00:27 And just letting it hit the ball.
00:28 That's the defense behind me.
00:30 I guess you were inbound and Dave says you're going to pitch on the weekend.
00:33 Is that exciting for you?
00:35 Does it really matter when?
00:37 What's it like being kind of a midweek guy that's now maybe going to be thrown on the weekend in SEC?
00:42 It's definitely exciting.
00:43 Just anything that helps the team kind of excites me.
00:46 So that's pretty much it for me.
00:50 Colin, they loaded the bases there in the third inning.
00:52 I think there was a mound visit.
00:54 What was the key to getting out of that unscathed?
00:56 I think just having me relax.
00:58 There wasn't much serious talking to mound visits.
01:00 So that helped me a lot, too.
01:02 Just kind of relax my mind, get back in the zone, and try to let them hit the ball.
01:06 And pop it up center.
01:07 So it helped.
01:08 Kendall, you had a pretty big swing.
01:10 It ended up being just what were you looking for in that at bat?
01:12 And what did you see in that at bat?
01:14 Yeah, in the past week or so, I feel like I've been just missing my pitch.
01:19 So I was looking for a fastball there.
01:22 Took the first one he threw me.
01:23 He brought that one in a little bit.
01:24 And hopefully -- or good thing it kept going through the wind.
01:28 I wasn't sure if it was going to, but it worked out.
01:34 Yeah, Colin, obviously it's still early in your career,
01:36 but you've gotten some pretty valuable experience starting games,
01:38 coming in in a big situation in Arlington.
01:40 Just how much confidence have you built these last few weeks as a pitcher?
01:43 It's definitely helped me.
01:44 Just getting a routine and all that, building up my confidence more.
01:48 So the first couple -- like last week wasn't the best,
01:52 but just coming back this week and doing pretty well helped me a lot.
01:56 Aidan, you've been swinging it pretty well, playing good defense,
01:58 but not been in the lineup every day.
02:00 I'm sure you've dealt with this kind of thing before,
02:02 but just what have these last few weeks been like,
02:04 just trying to stay locked in and do your job even when you're not playing all the time?
02:08 I mean, it's pretty easy to stay locked in when you like the guys that are playing.
02:12 And I think that's a testament to the team that we have,
02:14 a really good group of guys.
02:16 Everybody likes each other.
02:17 And so the guys that aren't playing, they're doing a good job, being good teammates,
02:21 rooting for the guys in front of them.
02:22 And then when they get their chance, the roles are reversed.
02:25 And I think it's just a testament to how good we are.
02:28 It seems like even when Dave does kind of -- when Coach Van Horn does maybe start guys
02:33 back to back games, there's always changes in the lineup too, where guys are hitting.
02:36 What's that like as a hitter right now?
02:38 I mean, are you guys kind of -- is he keeping you on your toes?
02:41 I mean, how much conversation is there before each game
02:43 about where you might be hitting in the lineup?
02:45 There's not a lot of conversation.
02:47 It's more just like being prepared to do whatever job you have to do
02:50 to help the team win, whatever situation comes up in the lineup.
02:56 I don't think we look into it that deep because at the end of the day it's you versus pitcher.
03:00 And, yeah, the runners on base might have like a little change to the situation.
03:04 But other than that, we're just staying with our approach.
03:06 Yes.
03:07 I was just adding on to that.
03:09 He moves it around a little bit, but I don't think anyone looks too far into it.
03:12 I mean, you look at like Lovich let off a couple games this past weekend,
03:16 did a really good job, just seeing the ball really well.
03:19 And he's down there today.
03:21 I don't think -- that's just an example.
03:23 I mean, I was hitting five today.
03:25 But it's still a ball back, too.
03:26 It's another left-handed bat.
03:27 So it kind of helps us with set-up guys.
03:30 If they're bringing them out of the pen, maybe they can only face one hitter.
03:33 If we can go left-right, left-right as much as we can.
03:35 So, yeah, no one looks too far into it.
03:37 And we trust them.
03:39 Kenda, it's been a really good season, but the homers, just two in the past three games,
03:44 the power is starting to come.
03:45 Has anything maybe shifted in approach or just being patient,
03:48 waiting for that power to kind of show up?
03:50 Yeah, you know, they come -- I mean, they come usually when you're not trying to hit a home run.
03:55 And, you know, at times, you know, in the past -- I guess, you know, early this season,
03:59 I was just maybe trying to do a little bit too much, you know,
04:01 taking a deep breath and doing this our whole life and, you know,
04:05 just going out there and trying to hit the ball hard on the line and good things will happen.
04:09 Peyton, how do you feel over there at third base?
04:11 Are you pretty comfortable there now?
04:12 Yeah, I mean, we worked there a lot in the offseason.
04:15 It's not too bad.
04:17 I'm comfortable over there at second.
04:19 I mean, just wherever he needs me to play.
04:21 You know, we've talked about it.
04:23 I could play third, second, left.
04:26 I even almost caught last year.
04:28 So it's just wherever they need me to play, you know.
04:33 And for Kendall and for Peyton, during the fall and like the preseason with Gackle,
04:38 he's come in and pitched in a lot of tough spots.
04:40 I mean, is that something you saw from him, like, in the preseason,
04:43 like this is a guy that can pitch in these kind of situations?
04:45 The first outing we were like, yeah, this guy is going to help us win.
04:48 I mean, it's an uncomfortable A-B for sure, especially as a righty.
04:52 I mean, he hides the ball well.
04:54 He does a really good job locating.
04:56 He's pretty special.
04:57 Yeah, he's legit.
04:59 I remember my first at bat, I think I felled off the heater and I was like, shoot, man,
05:04 I missed that one.
05:05 You know, I think it was like 98.
05:07 There were nasty changes, curveballs, sliding.
05:10 You know, he's got it all.
05:11 But, yeah, I think, you know, I mean, I remember walking in the door the first day
05:14 after summer ball, I got back here and that's all everyone was talking about was his first
05:18 bullpen.
05:19 This kid, I don't know how he's even here.
05:20 But, yeah, we're super happy he's on the team and he's doing an amazing job for us.
