Neil Warnock stands down as Aberdeen manager on a dramatic afternoon in the north-east.
Transcript
00:00 Good afternoon from Petaudry. It's been a dramatic afternoon here in the North East.
00:06 Aberdeen defeated Kilmarnock 3-1 to reach the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup.
00:12 But almost immediately afterwards, interim manager Neil Warnock stood down from his position after 32 days in charge of the Dodds.
00:21 The talk is that Aberdeen will have a new manager every chance by next week.
00:27 They have advanced their search for a permanent assistant for Warnock who is only an interim appointment.
00:34 What that means is that the 75-year-old Yorkshireman has stood down.
00:38 He signs off by taking the club to Hampden.
00:43 One of his big goals when he arrived here was to take the club to a Scottish Cup final and potentially win it his first ever trophy.
00:50 He won't get that chance now because Aberdeen feel that they are in a position to make an appointment that will lead them into next season.
00:57 Warnock did a press conference afterwards. He was pretty cheery about the whole thing to be honest.
01:03 He seems like a man that's quite happy to step away from a goalface here.
01:09 He's found the job quite tough. They won the Scottish Cup but actually in the league in the six matches he's only picked up a handful of points and no victories.
01:17 They're closer to the relegation play-off than they are to the top of six.
01:22 He said that he hopes that by bringing in a new manager in the next week it will allow the club to build for the future and also take some momentum from this win over Kilmarnock.
01:32 They were actually quite good against Kilmarnock. Aberdeen have been a bit leaderless and flaky in recent matches but they were on it here.
01:39 Goals from Graham Shinney, goals from Jair Migrat and also an own goal from Stuart Findlay gave them the win over Kilmarnock who just weren't at their races today.
01:48 They did score through Dan Armstrong but it wasn't their best performance by any stretch of the imagination.
01:52 The story though is that at Aberdeen there will be a new manager, a third manager in charge or potentially a fourth if you count Peter Lee with his caretaker boots coming in after Warnock and Robson.
02:03 Aberdeen will hope that that is an appointment that will take them through to a more successful time and certainly a tournament on the North East Club.
02:12 I have no doubt that we will be taking the headlines again next week when we find out who that new manager is.
02:18 From a very cold and windy Patagere where it's never a dull moment for the Southern Eights to be Kilmarnock won and the main news in the Old World Cup is that Leicester have this key manager.
