00:00 Jackie Lambie, what measures and policies would your people push for if you get members elected?
00:07 Okay, first of all we don't do policies because our egos aren't that big.
00:10 I watched Clive Palmer do this once and it didn't go down well.
00:13 You can't say you're going to be the next Premier or the next Prime Minister and throw ahead with policies out there.
00:19 What you need to do is being that balance of power and if we are lucky enough to get people in,
00:24 that is what hopefully will be part of that balance of power,
00:27 is making sure that we're doing everything that we can.
00:30 The Government of the day, we are assisting them, looking through their bills,
00:34 looking through their legislation and making it better.
00:37 That is what we do. So put everything under the microscope,
00:39 making sure the integrity is put into place and make sure that they are held accountable.
00:45 Because I can assure you what we have seen right now around Tasmania,
00:49 and this is the problem with the stadium, is the lack of transparency that has come along with that.
00:54 Unless you start being transparent to the people of Tasmania,
00:57 you are not going to get anywhere and they have woken up to this.
01:00 You need to take them along with you.
01:02 So there are plenty of things we can certainly talk about.
01:06 We can talk about the jails, which they're still talking about.
01:08 What do we do with the detention centre?
01:10 Do we have a low security facility up in the Launceston area?
01:15 Do we have high security, high remand down there in Hobart?
01:18 What are we doing about child protection when we've got our kids living in caravans?
01:22 Why are we still sending our kids to other states to look after
01:26 instead of doing it here in Tasmania and making sure that we can fix that?
01:30 I mean, I can keep going on and on and on.
01:33 Why aren't we, out of the housing deal I've done,
01:35 and out of the housing deal that Senator Tyrrell done,
01:37 which is the next 1,200 houses for Tasmania,
01:41 why aren't we putting solar on them?
01:43 Why weren't we doing that with Peter Gutman
01:45 when I asked them to put solar on any new builds that they had
01:48 to reduce their energy costs in those houses?
01:50 What are we doing?
01:52 And I absolutely agree with you with concession card holders,
01:55 pension card holders, veterans gold card holders,
01:58 all those little things from local council all the way up.
02:01 They need those reductions, especially now,
02:03 the economic situation is really tough.
02:06 They need to be making sure we can give them discounts
02:08 whenever we possibly can.
02:10 It is all that stuff.
02:11 Ours were sitting there and there's ideas out there
02:13 and we've put them out there on paper,
02:15 on what they're hearing on the ground, our people.
02:17 That's the whole point of them being out there the last six months
02:20 and coming back to the table and saying,
02:22 "OK, what solutions did the Tasmanians give you?"
02:24 Because that's usually where they come from.
