00:48 China, however, has made references to supposed agreements or arrangements out of these discussions.

00:57 The Philippines has not entered into any agreement.

01:02 I repeat, the Philippines has not entered into any agreement,

01:07 abandoning its sovereign rights and jurisdiction over its east and continental shelf,

01:14 including in the vicinity of the Iungin Shoal.

01:17 According to the US State Department, the US will help if there will be armed attacks on ships,

01:22 airplanes and people of the Philippine AFP and Coast Guard in accordance with the Mutual Defense Treaty.

01:28 But they cannot answer if the MDT is carrying out the water cannon attacks of China.

01:34 Does this constitute armed attacks? I think it was water cannon and collisions of boats.

01:40 I'm not going to speculate or get ahead of any discussions in this regard.

01:45 For the former Supreme Court Senior Associate Justice Antonio Carpio,

01:50 one of the things the Philippines can do against China's involvement is to build a lighthouse in Iungin.

01:55 It will be built and it will be blocked by China. But it's time for this to happen.

02:05 Because under the UNCLOS, we have the exclusive right, because that's our EEZ, to manage the fisheries there,

02:16 to manage the natural resources there, to preserve the natural resources and to conduct scientific studies.

02:24 China has sent a protest to the Department of Foreign Affairs because of their trespassing on the Iungin Shoal,

02:33 which is also called Renai Jiao.

02:35 China's government is forcing Philippine sea vehicles to enter their territory

02:43 without permission from the Chinese government to bring materials and supplies to the BRP Sierra Madre,

02:50 which is illegally located in Iungin Shoal.

02:54 China Coast Guard has just carried out regulatory actions on Philippine vehicles

02:59 that are in accordance with the law. China Coast Guard has also stopped their actions

03:09 and their actions are questionable.

03:12 According to the spokesperson of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Mao Ning,

03:16 the Philippines has broken its promise to China after they violated the rights and actions of our sea vehicles

03:26 in Iungin Shoal or Renai Jiao.

03:28 The Philippines is causing trouble by violating their territorial sovereignty and maritime rights.

03:35 According to the Department of Foreign Affairs,

03:38 the Filipinos should be careful in understanding the statements of China.

03:43 China has a lot of narratives and we really have to be very careful.

03:47 But they're not in their EEZ, they're a big distance away from the EEZ.

03:51 They're actually, they are in our EEZ and because of that, it is us who will determine what we will do in our EEZ, is it not?
