00:00 [ Inaudible Discussions ]
00:24 >> So, we'll start with Coach Bluter's opening statement,
00:26 then go to questions from Kaitlin and afterwards.
00:29 >> Wow, this has been an unbelievable day,
00:33 one that I know I'll remember for a long time.
00:37 You don't often get the number two team on your home court,
00:40 very often, especially when you have all these people that have come out.
00:44 I mean, Hawkeye Nation is second to none.
00:47 Their support, their understanding of the game,
00:50 and like even know when to cheer and when not to cheer,
00:52 it's just, they're amazing.
00:54 Our five seniors, you know, I'm just so proud of them
00:58 and what they've accomplished, what they've built this program into be.
01:02 You know, Hannah had a spectacular game today.
01:04 We had four people in double figures.
01:06 I love that.
01:07 We out-rebounded them.
01:08 I'm very happy about that.
01:10 And you look at the paint points, that's pretty impressive, you know.
01:14 So, I know it's going to -- we have three more games next week, hopefully,
01:18 and, you know, it could be a rematch.
01:22 I don't know.
01:23 We've got a tough go of it to get there.
01:27 Lisa, there was a point right after Molly went down, you guys were up 10,
01:31 and then they, I think, hit two threes to get it down to four,
01:34 and then that was kind of the biggest push they made.
01:36 Just how did everybody kind of regroup there, you know, in a tough scene?
01:41 That was tough because Molly had just went down,
01:43 and I'm pretty sure that's the time you were talking about.
01:46 You know, any time that happens, our team is so close that it's hard emotionally
01:52 to regain your focus.
01:54 I mean, you're worried about your teammate,
01:55 you're thinking about the future instead of being in the now,
01:58 and that was a really tough thing to overcome.
02:02 I'm really proud of Kylie and Sid and how well they're playing
02:05 and taking up the slack that, you know, Molly's given us so much this year,
02:09 and we really need her.
02:11 And so, I don't know the extent of her injury, I won't know until tomorrow,
02:14 and everybody just say a few prayers for me, would you?
02:19 Is it an ankle or?
02:24 Lisa, that first match against Ohio State, you guys lost the rebounding battle,
02:27 and then the turnover battle against Ohio State is always very important.
02:30 You won the rebounding battle and the turnovers were tied at 16.
02:33 Just talk about those two areas of the game and how important they were.
02:35 Yeah, we felt like we gave up too many O boards against them at their place,
02:40 and we did a much better job of that.
02:43 And even like we had 16 turnovers today,
02:45 but a lot of them were unforced quite honestly in the beginning of the game.
02:49 I mean, it wasn't like their press caused us the turnovers, it was kind of us.
02:53 You know, self-inflicted a little bit, and they're good quarter court defense,
02:57 but at the same time, I think that we did a good job of handling the press.
03:03 What was Kylie doing defensively?
03:05 She ended up with four steals, and she just seemed to be a bat out of hell sort of.
03:10 You know, Kylie does such a great job of anticipating, keeping her hands high,
03:15 and she was in the front of that zone that we were playing,
03:18 and she did a really good job with that as far as just, you know,
03:22 anticipating and getting a hand on it.
03:24 We all say deflections lead to steals.
03:26 All you have to do is get a deflection.
03:27 Don't worry about getting a steal, get a deflection,
03:29 because that's going to lead to something good.
03:31 Hannah, can you just talk about your game today?
03:32 I think you drew more fouls than anybody on either side.
03:35 You tied for the high and rebounded, 23 points, 9-12.
03:38 How important was it to you to come out,
03:40 especially on an emotional day like this and play like that?
03:43 Yeah, I think it was really important to come out like that.
03:48 My teammates are really good at getting me the ball
03:50 and drawing fouls I think is really fun.
03:53 So, yeah, that was a lot of fun.
03:57 It is a tough day for me.
03:59 I'm a really emotional person.
04:01 So, yeah, it was great for me to come out and play like that.
04:06 Hannah, when Kylie and I think it was Gabby
04:09 was playing pretty good perimeter defense too,
04:12 what does that do for somebody like you who's at the bottom of that zone
04:16 and get you guys going?
04:18 Oh, it's awesome.
04:19 If the ball doesn't come into the paint, then they're not going to score.
04:23 So I think it's awesome.
04:25 I love that Kylie was getting her hands on so many of the four steals.
04:31 I'm just so proud of her.
04:32 She's always been a really great athlete,
04:34 so I'm glad that everybody gets to see that too.
04:37 Lisa, over the last two games we've seen Gabby Marshall
04:39 start to knock down threes today.
04:41 She's hitting threes, has her tongue out.
04:42 She's having a fun time.
04:44 How important is it to see that side of her going into the postseason now?
04:48 Yeah, I mean, you saw last year.
04:50 I mean, she was crucial to our advancing into the national championship game
04:54 with her play.
04:55 I mean, everybody knows what she does for us defensively,
04:57 but when she can add that, like tonight going four for seven from the three,
05:02 it just opens up everything for everybody else.
05:06 And we love Gabby so much, and we know how hard she works at it,
05:11 and so we're just thankful that she gets that recognition
05:14 and that ball splashes through the net for her.
05:17 So it's another historical day for Kaitlin,
05:20 passing Pete Maravich.
05:21 I want to hear you talk about both that
05:23 and the fact that you have a double-digit mile marker today,
05:26 both of those things, because it's such a historical connection
05:29 with everyone's games.
05:30 Yeah, it really is.
05:32 They used to call her Ponytail Pete when she was a little kid,
05:35 and now she has the record.
05:37 It's ironic.
05:40 I'm just so happy for Kaitlin,
05:42 because I think she represents the university, our sport,
05:46 and she's such a good ambassador, and I'm very thankful for that.
05:52 But for us to have Maya Moore here and Lynette Woodard, are you kidding?
05:56 Maya Moore was the person that shook Kaitlin's hand when Kaitlin was little,
06:01 and it's just that kind of pass it along, pass it along, right?
06:05 Because now Kaitlin's that person, like Maya Moore,
06:08 that can do that for other people.
06:10 So I love that.
06:11 And then Lynette Woodard is really special.
06:14 I have never had the honor of meeting Lynette Woodard until today,
06:17 and it was a real privilege.
06:19 She was my role model growing up, one of mine, unbelievable player,
06:25 played first female Harlem Globetrotter, a couple Olympics.
06:29 I mean, she is special, and she is so graceful,
06:32 and just her opportunity to have her come into the locker room
06:35 and to introduce her to the Hawkeyes was really meaningful.
06:38 It's not out of the realm of possibility that you see Ohio State again
06:41 within a week, so the fact that you guys evened up to score,
06:45 what does that mean going into possibly another battle with them
06:48 on a neutral site?
06:49 This conference is so incredible.
06:54 I mean, two top 10 teams just battling it out right here today from the Big Ten,
06:59 and it's going to go down next week, are you kidding?
07:02 It's going to be an amazing Big Ten tournament.
07:05 We could see them, but both of us have got to get through a couple games
07:09 in order for that to happen.
07:12 If we have that opportunity, we'll welcome it.
07:17 Coach, I'm wondering when you look at what Kaitlin did today
07:20 versus the other records she's had in recent days,
07:23 does this one stick out in terms of what this is going to do
07:26 for women's sports moving forward?
07:28 I hope it advances women's sports even more.
07:32 But to me, you don't have to break a man's record to be recognized.
07:36 You don't have to do that.
07:38 I think breaking Lynette's record was significant.
07:41 So to me, yeah, you know, I mean, I admire Pistol Pete, but at the same time,
07:50 I just don't want that to be the bar for women's athletics.
07:54 How were you able to kind of hold them off?
07:57 They, of course, just kept coming, kept coming, kept coming.
08:01 But in the second half, you seemed to find an answer.
08:05 Yeah, you know, they got it down, and then Kaitlin, I think, knocked it up.
08:09 That sounded terrible.
08:14 Everybody's got to erase that right now.
08:17 Oh, my gosh.
08:19 Oh, Lordy.
08:21 Thank you, baby.
08:26 Kaitlin hit a three and got us back on track.
08:30 So, you know, they're not going to let down.
08:33 I mean, we had them up by 12 at their place, and they didn't back down, right?
08:37 We knew it was going to happen.
08:39 Can you guys just talk about that right there at the end of the first half?
08:42 I mean, three-tenths of a second left, you guys scored six points.
08:45 They took away her two.
08:47 Yeah, yeah.
08:50 But at least four points count.
08:52 How big of a factor was that emotionally that Hannah was able to get fouled,
08:57 not those two three throws, and then Kaitlin got the record out of the way then?
09:01 Absolutely.
09:02 Tremendous momentum going into halftime.
09:04 We thought it counted going into halftime, and even if it didn't, we still did it, right?
09:09 Like we still executed and did it.
09:11 And some of that mentally just helps your confidence.
09:13 And so, you know, that was an unbelievable play, unbelievable pass by Kate Martin,
09:19 and they executed it beautifully.
09:21 So we'll put that one up our sleeve and use it again later.
09:25 Six offensive rebounds,
09:27 and you're doing that against players like Kody McFann, Felicity Koba,
09:31 and those two in particular were trying to be provocateurs,
09:36 and I don't know how to pronounce that word today.
09:39 What's it like to go up against people competing like that
09:42 and to put up numbers like these?
09:44 Yeah, I think it's a lot of fun.
09:46 I say that a lot.
09:47 I'm sorry.
09:48 Okay.
09:49 I think it's great going up against people who are at the top of the league.
09:54 It's making me better.
09:55 It's making them better.
09:57 And I think that's what we all want out of basketball.
10:00 You're a player that--
10:02 I'm guessing you don't need much motivation going against the number two team in the country,
10:06 but the fact that you had that loss, I know--I'm guessing it wasn't a game that you were happy with last January.
10:11 So how much was that in the back of your mind?
10:15 I think that's a big motivator for all of us.
10:18 We've been thinking about it since it happened, and we just wanted to get it back.
10:23 Coach, we're going to do a teaching moment for all the kids out there who watched what Kayla did just before halftime.
10:29 Everyone was probably wondering if it would be a three, some kind of crazy two with an and one,
10:33 but she did it at the foul line.
10:35 What's the coaching lesson to take away that she did it with a free throw?
10:38 Oh, that's a good point.
10:40 I hadn't thought about that, but you're right.
10:42 Yeah, those free throws are important, and she's very, very good.
10:45 I mean, she shoots our technical fouls for us, and that was the one that--tied, right?
10:50 Tied it?
10:51 And put it over.
10:52 Okay.
10:53 Well, yeah, go back to fundamentals, everybody, right?
10:56 I'm kind of glad it wasn't a logo three.
10:58 I'm sure she would like it to have been a logo three, but I'm glad it wasn't.
11:02 Lisa, what do days like this mean to you as a head coach?
11:06 You know, it's emotional because of the people that are--you know, the five seniors,
11:11 but it's more like we had game day here.
11:14 You know, we had great recruits here.
11:16 We had all these people that came to watch our team, and they've been there for us all year long.
11:21 I mean, they've been there since the crossover in Kinnick,
11:23 and to think about when we started that with 56,000 people nearly there in Kinnick to now,
11:30 you know, today where you can't even get a seat at one of our games.
11:34 It is so meaningful because they are helping propel women's sport.
11:38 Follow up on that, obviously 24 years ago that probably wasn't something that was in your mind.
11:45 What would you tell yourself 24 years ago about today?
11:50 I don't know if I could imagine that.
11:52 We actually--24 years ago Jan, Jenny, and I came in here one time in a Carver and said,
11:58 "We're going to fill this place up someday."
12:01 I don't know if any of us ever thought we'd really do it, but it happened.
12:05 And so it's special to share it with them.
12:08 I mean, Jan and Jenny and I have been together for so long,
12:10 and, you know, I'm just so thankful for their loyalty and how hard they work.
12:17 They're amazing, and I'm just very thankful to share this with them.
12:21 Lisa, your team has been the rock stars of college basketball now for a year,
12:26 but certainly during this season.
12:28 It is a lot of pressure for the women to perform each and every day, yet they seem to do that,
12:33 whether they win or lose, but for the most part win.
12:36 What's it like to be around people that mentally tough,
12:39 and how does that help you guys get to reach this point this season?
12:44 You know, I always feel that basketball is such a great way to teach those life lessons,
12:48 and we talk about it a lot, like how can we be better people?
12:53 How can we prepare ourselves not for the next four years that they're here,
12:56 but the next 40 years of their life?
12:58 How are they going to take the lessons from basketball and use that moving forward?
13:02 And being mentally strong is really good to be able to learn that.
13:07 Bouncing back from failure is hard, but we all fail.
13:10 You know, every one of us fails, maybe except for South Carolina right now.
13:14 But, you know, the rest of us, you know, we have to learn how to deal with that.
13:17 And if they can learn that lesson while they're here, then it's more than just winning games.
13:24 Hannah, what did you get from last year's postseason, both Big Ten and then NCAA,
13:28 that's going to help you now headed into your second postseason?
13:31 I think just having confidence in my abilities and in the team
13:35 and not stressing about anything and doing my homework before we leave.
13:41 Oh, yes. Oh, yes.
13:44 Thank you, guys.
13:45 Thank you. Thanks for covering us all year long, you guys.
13:48 I really do appreciate it.
13:50 Did you know who Travis Scott was before you saw him?
13:54 [laughter]
13:59 I knew when I was going to see him.
14:01 [laughter]
14:03 [inaudible]
14:06 [inaudible]
14:10 [inaudible]
14:13 [inaudible]
14:37 We have a question for Kayla.
14:42 A few weeks ago I asked you about her.
14:44 You mentioned games as a little kid, and you had to look for autographs and photos.
14:48 Who did you look for?
14:50 The only name I think you mentioned was Miamor.
14:52 You got a chance to give her a hug today, again, before the game.
14:55 Which hug felt more special, the one to Katelyn or real Katelyn?
14:59 I think they both kind of have a different magnitude to them.
15:02 I think the one when I was younger was like I was just a young girl,
15:07 and that's why I loved women's basketball.
15:09 It was because of her and how good the links were,
15:11 and obviously a lot of other people as well.
15:13 But I wanted to be just like her.
15:15 I thought I was going to go to UConn when I was growing up,
15:17 but obviously that's not what happened.
15:19 But, you know, and then obviously for her to be here and surprise me was pretty special.
15:24 And I felt like I was that young girl again.
15:27 And it's crazy how life can come full circle.
15:29 And I think more than anything, like she's just such a great role model, a great person,
15:32 not only a great basketball player.
15:34 You guys were rolling along there in the first half, and then Molly goes down
15:38 and kind of an ominous just energy in the building.
15:42 They cut it to four from ten.
15:44 Just how did you guys kind of stabilize things and refocus
15:47 in what was obviously a tough moment?
15:50 Yeah, I think that kind of just speaks to our cultures.
15:52 Like it's always next man up.
15:53 Obviously it's hard watching an injury like that.
15:57 I didn't see it.
15:58 I think a lot of us had our backs turned to it.
16:00 But Molly is somebody that gives so much and plays so hard.
16:02 I think, you know, you kind of just want to do it for her,
16:04 so it almost gives you energy in a way.
16:06 It doesn't take it away.
16:07 I think they went on a little run, and then we kind of gathered ourselves.
16:10 I thought Sydney came in and played great,
16:12 and I thought Kylie came in and played really, really well.
16:14 That's what we're going to need going forward.
16:16 So I'm proud of our group.
16:18 When they went on their runs, I thought we always had a response.
16:21 What has this day been like?
16:24 It's been a lot, but this is what's so fun and so special.
16:28 This is what we've built here, and these are the moments you dream of.
16:32 Obviously our fans were incredible.
16:35 It feels like you're living in a little bit of delusion
16:37 because this is just so awesome.
16:39 To celebrate our seniors and four other people that have meant so much to me
16:43 and given so much to this program, it's really awesome.
16:46 I felt like we played a very dominant basketball game.
16:48 It felt like we were in control of the game the entire time.
16:51 Even when they made shots, we always had an answer.
16:53 I thought we handled their press well.
16:56 I thought we just played a really good, complete basketball game.
16:58 Obviously there's always ways we can improve, but it's special, obviously,
17:02 with the people in the building, the fans that we have,
17:04 college game day being here, being sold out, being senior night.
17:07 There's a lot to manage from all different areas,
17:09 but I think our group is pretty mature in that area.
17:12 We've kind of balanced it for the last couple years,
17:14 and it seemed to give us energy more than anything.
17:17 You mentioned Kylie Fairbaugh and her play.
17:20 It kind of seemed like every single defensive possession
17:22 she was getting a deflection or a steal.
17:24 What did that do for her?
17:26 I've played with Kylie since I've played in AAU,
17:28 and that's how she's always played.
17:30 She always just has a really good eye for the ball,
17:32 and when she gets her hands in passing lane, she's quick.
17:34 She's got long arms.
17:36 I think she got quite a few deflections that led to either her making a layup,
17:40 led to Gabby making a three,
17:42 or just giving us an extra possession on the other end.
17:44 I think her coming in and giving us that spark was super huge,
17:47 and obviously something we're going to need moving forward.
17:49 What do you think about breaking the record from the line?
17:53 Honestly, I didn't really care.
17:55 It was cool to hear everybody just start screaming.
17:57 I thought that gave us a lot of momentum going into halftime,
18:00 and that sequence, even though they wiped off the two points,
18:02 we kind of just threw a party after we made that shot,
18:04 even though it didn't count.
18:06 So that was pretty fun.
18:08 But I thought it gave us a lot of momentum going into halftime.
18:10 Yeah, I guess I'm just glad to make a free throw.
18:12 That's the hardest thing to do in basketball is make free throws
18:14 with nobody at the free throw line.
18:17 Even though that shot didn't count before the half,
18:19 you guys still celebrated as if it was something that you guys still did.
18:22 How big was that stretch, even though it wasn't six,
18:24 but that four-point stretch right there before the half?
18:26 It was huge. It was a huge swing.
18:29 Obviously, I wish the shot counted,
18:31 but I wasn't surprised that they wiped it off.
18:33 0.3 seconds is not a lot of time.
18:36 But even Hannah stepping up and making two free throws for us was huge,
18:39 and then I make two.
18:40 It kind of takes the air out of them after they had just gone down
18:42 and made a layup and we were coming back to the other end right before halftime.
18:45 So I think that gave us a lot of momentum going into half,
18:48 and we kind of just carried that.
18:51 Our vibe in the locker room was super positive.
18:53 I felt like we played a good half.
18:55 There was a few things that we could have cleaned up,
18:57 but we played a good half and really just dominated,
18:59 especially in the third quarter.
19:00 When Coach found out that it was a free throw that put you over the top,
19:03 she was happy that it wasn't a low move.
19:06 What do you think of that, do you hear the coach?
19:09 She's probably glad that I'm attacking the basket more
19:11 and not shooting as many bombs.
19:13 But, you know, she's always on me to get to the free throw line.
19:15 Those are easy points.
19:17 We always want to get the other team in foul trouble,
19:19 and I thought we did a good job of that today.
19:21 They kind of battled foul trouble all day.
19:23 But, yeah, she's probably just glad I'm getting free easy points for us.
19:27 Do you remember having to be a low move three?
19:28 Sorry, what was that?
19:29 Do you remember having to be a low move three?
19:31 I don't really care.
19:32 I mean, it is what it is.
19:34 Yeah.
19:36 Four years ago, you were hyping up your Dawgs card work cutout
19:40 after the game winner against Iowa State.
19:42 Now you look around, Travis Scott's court side,
19:44 Maya Moore is here, Jay from State Farm is here.
19:47 How did it happen?
19:49 Oh, gosh.
19:52 I think just being me is just the biggest thing.
19:54 I've just had fun, and I've loved every single second I've been here.
19:57 I've loved every single second I've gone to practice, played in a game.
20:01 Obviously, there's been ups and downs,
20:02 and I think the biggest part of my maturity and growth
20:05 has been able to handle that and balance that
20:07 and balance everything that's going on around me and the noise around me.
20:10 Obviously, it can be hard at times, but I would never change that for the world.
20:14 But also I think people that are showing up and coming to our games,
20:17 they really love the way our team plays.
20:19 They're cheering for everyone.
20:21 When Gabby makes a three, when Kate makes a three,
20:23 you can just feel the energy and the joy and the excitement
20:26 that our team plays with, and that's contagious.
20:29 Our fans give us that energy, but we give it right back to them.
20:32 I think that's what's been so fun about this whole ride
20:35 is the style of basketball we play is people love it.
20:37 They're not just here for me.
20:39 I'm sure I help, but at the end of the day, we have a really great team
20:42 and a really great culture, and that's what makes it so fun.
20:44 During the senior day ceremony, the MC reflected on how this is a record
20:48 for all of college basketball, making a point of saying this was a men's record
20:51 and a women's record, and you also made a point of saying that we're looking at
20:56 a team that gets followed, that has sellout crowds like you haven't seen in the past.
21:01 I'm just wondering if today's moment, if this record sticks out from the others
21:05 for you in terms of what you want people to take away from it.
21:09 Honestly, no, not in this moment, I would say.
21:12 I feel like this is--a lot of everything that's gone on the past couple weeks
21:15 and even the past couple months, I feel like I'm so focused on helping this team
21:18 win and be so great that it's hard for me to wrap my head around everything
21:22 that's going on.
21:24 I think I'm just trying to soak in the moment.
21:27 A record is a record.
21:28 I don't want that to be the reason people remember me.
21:30 I hope people remember me for the way I played with a smile on my face,
21:33 my competitive fire.
21:35 Sure, they can remember the wins, but also just the fun me and my teammates
21:39 had together, and I think that's even the same for my teammates.
21:42 Sure, we'll talk about great wins that we had and things like that,
21:45 but it's all the other moments that mean the most to us,
21:48 and I think the same should go for everyone else.
21:51 Caleb, what was today like for you?
21:54 Did you wake up at 4 and couldn't sleep, or did you wake up at 8 and you felt great?
21:59 What was kind of your morning routine like?
22:01 Honestly, I had to wake up at--my alarm was for 6, 22 a.m.
22:07 So I woke up and I came here.
22:09 We had shoot-around, and I think it's good to have shoot-around
22:12 get moving a little bit, and then obviously the place is just chaos,
22:15 kind of a zoo here with all the people.
22:17 So you're trying to balance your normal routine with also enjoying the environment.
22:20 I think our girls did a really good job with that,
22:23 and obviously having game day last year probably helped,
22:25 and we knew what to expect coming in here.
22:28 Yeah, I think I just tried to go about it the same way I always go about it.
22:32 Obviously, I would have liked to shoot a little better tonight
22:34 and play a little better and maybe not turn the ball over so many times
22:36 in the first half, but overall I thought we played really well.
22:40 I thought our energy was contagious.
22:42 I thought Hannah Stolke was really, really good tonight.
22:45 But, yeah, I mean, I tried to keep my routine as similar as I could.
22:49 Today is 16-game winning streak going into today's game,
22:54 and like you said, you guys pretty much controlled the game.
22:58 Do you think Iowa made a big statement today, Nashua?
23:01 Yeah, I think we did.
23:03 I also think this is a game we're favored in.
23:05 We should probably win.
23:07 It's on senior day.
23:08 You always want to send your seniors out the right way.
23:10 But also I think we had a lot of confidence.
23:12 We went back and we watched the Ohio State game this week
23:14 from when we played them previously, and we felt like we should have won that game.
23:18 We were up 12 in the fourth quarter, and then we kind of just did it to ourselves.
23:21 We missed free throws.
23:22 We missed layups.
23:24 We didn't execute on defense.
23:26 I thought our defense was so much better tonight versus them.
23:28 I thought we caused a lot of problems in the paint area.
23:30 Obviously, they made some tough baskets.
23:32 I thought JC was really good tonight.
23:34 But, yeah, I think you can say this is a statement,
23:38 but I think more than anything it's just good momentum for our team
23:41 going into the Big Ten tournament.
23:42 You never want to go into the Big Ten tournament on a loss.
23:44 So I think building off this is really important.
23:47 And Coach Bluter always has us playing our best basketball during this time.
23:50 So I'm just proud of our group.
23:52 You mentioned Hannah's play today.
23:55 Go ahead.
23:58 You mentioned Hannah's play today, and the first match was Cody McMahon with 33 points.
24:01 Today Hannah has 23 points, nine runs, six offensive rebounds.
24:04 Just talk about her play today.
24:06 I thought Hannah came up with a lot of big offensive rebounds,
24:08 especially in the second half where it kind of got stuck around ten,
24:11 and Hannah would come up with a big one here and there.
24:13 I thought she was aggressive.
24:15 I thought she, you know, pumped fake a little more,
24:17 kind of got them in a little bit more foul trouble.
24:19 But this is what Hannah's capable of every night.
24:21 I think it's just her confidence and believing in herself.
24:23 I thought she made some big free throws.
24:25 But, yeah, I think she played really, really well.
24:28 And obviously that's going to be important going down the stretch.
24:30 Talk about how big this Ohio State rivalry has grown since your freshman year.
24:34 And it still possibly might be going in the Big Ten tournament.
24:38 Yeah, absolutely.
24:39 I think Ohio State's a team that's always battled us really, really well.
24:42 Obviously we went there last year, and we beat them.
24:44 I think they beat us here the year previously.
24:46 We beat them in the Big Ten tournament.
24:48 So it kind of goes back and forth a little bit, and I think that's what makes it so fun.
24:51 They're a very, very talented group,
24:53 and a lot of their core have been there since I've been playing.
24:55 So we've had a lot of fun battles.
24:57 Thank you, guys.
25:00 I'm going to ask the same question in a little bit different way.
25:03 You have now scored more points than anyone who has ever played Division I men's or women's basketball.
25:09 As much as you say that record isn't what you're thinking about,
25:12 when you hear it like that, is that going to hit you at some point?
25:16 Oh, for sure.
25:18 It's really crazy to think about.
25:21 Honestly, if you would have told me that before my college career started,
25:24 I would have laughed in your face and been like, "No, you're insane."
25:26 I've always been able to score the ball,
25:28 but I don't think people really understand how many amazing players have come before me
25:32 and been able to score the ball and do it at such a high rate
25:35 and do it for teams that are really, really good.
25:37 Just to be in the same realm of all these players that have been so successful,
25:40 whether it's Pete or whether it's Kelsey Plum or Lynette Woodard,
25:44 all these people have just given so much to the game.
25:47 So hopefully somebody comes after me and breaks my records,
25:50 and I can be there supporting them.
25:52 That's what makes the game of basketball so fun.
25:55 But, yeah, it will definitely hit me at some point.
25:57 Thanks.
25:59 (audience laughing)
