'It's mindblowing!': The Scottish chocolatier making film-inspired treats for Oscar nominees

In the remote town of Campbeltown on the West Coast of Scotland, a one-woman vegan chocolate-making company is providing chocolates for the Oscars goodie bags. Fiona McArthur, who has created six chocolates based on the most tipped films, says "it's mindblowing" that her chocolates will be going to the nominees for the main categories at this year's awards.

00:03 So I've got a chocolate themed for Barbie,
00:18 a chocolate themed for Oppenheimer,
00:20 and Killers of the Flower Moon, Poor Things, Holdovers,
00:22 and Maestro.
00:24 And they're all tailored.
00:26 Like, Barbie is pink, and Oppenheimer is like a bomb.
00:29 So it has kind of yellows and oranges,
00:31 and it has popping candy in it.
00:33 Kind of works for the story as well,
00:35 I think, because they're not a smooth heart.
00:38 They're kind of rough and rough cut.
00:41 So sort of like her journey through Barbie land
00:45 into the real world is not a smooth journey.
00:46 It's full of angles.
00:50 This is the Maestro chocolate.
00:53 The flavor that I chose for these ones is salt and pepper.
00:56 And it's just because I was looking
00:58 for something that was complementary to Leonard
01:00 and Felicia's lives.
01:02 Like, they live separate lives, but together.

01:56 So the best director, best actor, actress, supporting
02:00 actor, and supporting actress, they all get
02:02 one of my boxes of chocolates.
02:04 I'm really excited.
02:05 So it's people like Cillian Murphy, and Bradley Cooper,
02:09 Lily Gladstone, Emma Stone.
02:11 It's mind-blowing.
02:13 I can't-- I actually can't believe it still.
