00:16 Welcome to Bachelor's Cooking
00:18 Today we will teach you how to make Dal Kofta
00:21 Yes, making Kofta from Dal
00:23 For this we have taken Peeled Moong Dal
00:26 which we have soaked in water for 5 hours
00:28 Since Peeled Moong Dal has a lot of protein and is very good
00:32 So after soaking it, we will grind it
00:35 To grind it, we have to be careful that it should not be too fine
00:39 If there are some grains of Dal in between, then it tastes good in Kofta
00:42 So let's grind it and then I will tell you what to do next
00:45 So our Dal is ground
00:51 Now first we will add about half an inch grated ginger to it
00:56 Grate it a little big, not too fine
00:58 Ginger has gone inside it
01:03 After this, you have to add 2 chopped green chilies
01:07 Chop it finely, if you like it more spicy, then take more green chilies
01:11 After adding green chilies, we will add Asafoetida
01:20 It is very important to add Asafoetida to it because it gives a very good flavor
01:25 So add a pinch of Asafoetida, not too much
01:29 If you do not have pure Asafoetida, then add about half a teaspoon
01:36 I have the original Asafoetida gum, so I will add very little
01:42 Asafoetida has gone inside it
01:45 After this, add a little salt to it
01:50 Add salt as per taste
01:55 Add a little red chili powder
01:58 Add a pinch of turmeric powder
02:03 Add a little turmeric powder
02:07 After adding turmeric, we have to add 2 teaspoons of dry fenugreek leaves
02:16 Crush it and add it to it
02:18 Fenugreek leaves and dry fenugreek leaves are a very good combination
02:22 Asafoetida gives a very good flavor to the kofta
02:26 So this is dry fenugreek leaves inside it
02:30 Now we have to mix it very well and beat it well
02:37 The more we beat, the softer our kofta will be
02:40 If we mix it lightly, then the kofta will become hard
02:44 Beat it well
02:49 Mix it well and start beating
02:55 We have added 1 teaspoon of garam masala to it
03:00 Beat it well for 2 minutes
03:04 Now we have to deep fry it
03:09 Let's start frying it
03:16 Let's fry our koftas
03:19 Turn on the gas
03:21 Add a lot of oil
03:26 Deep fry it
03:28 Add a little more oil
03:33 Let the oil heat up and then we will fry our koftas
03:39 Oil is hot, now we will fry our koftas
03:43 Make small koftas
03:47 Keep a little gap between each other
03:52 Flip it and fry it until it becomes brown
04:01 Do not burn it, because it will be cooked in the gravy
04:07 Fry it from both sides
04:13 Our koftas are fried
04:17 Now we will take out more oil from the same oil
04:20 And we will make gravy from the remaining oil
04:23 For this we have to make a masala
04:25 For this masala we have to take 1/2 teaspoon of cumin seeds
04:28 Add 10 cloves of garlic
04:31 Add 1/2 inch ginger
04:33 Add 1 medium sized onion
04:38 Add a little water and make a paste
04:43 For making gravy, first we have to add 2 onions
04:53 And fry it until it becomes brown
05:00 When the onions are fried, we will add the paste
05:09 It will help to thicken the gravy and will give a flavor to the onion
05:14 You can see that the onions are brown
05:18 Now we will add the paste
05:23 Add the paste so that the gravy becomes thick
05:28 Add it and cook it
05:35 Cook it until the oil is released
05:39 Till the time the onion and paste are cooking, we will make a masala
05:43 For that we will need 3 to 4 spoons of curd
05:48 Take thick curd
05:53 Add 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric
06:00 Add 1 teaspoon of Kashmiri red chili powder
06:05 It will give a nice red color to the gravy
06:08 Add 1 tablespoon of coriander powder
06:13 Add 1 tablespoon of garam masala
06:21 Add 1 tablespoon of curd
06:26 Mix it well
06:31 Add the masala paste
06:38 Mix it well
06:50 The curd is cooked and the oil is released
06:56 Now we will add 3 finely chopped tomatoes
07:01 It is a heavy dish
07:06 Mix it well
07:13 Add salt
07:16 Remember that we have salt in the kofta, so add less salt
07:22 Add 1 teaspoon of salt
07:27 Mix it well
07:35 After the tomatoes are cooked, we will shift the masala to the cooker
07:40 After that we will add the koftas and cook it till the gravy is absorbed by the koftas
07:52 Now we will shift all the masala to the cooker
07:59 Remove the lid and put all the masala in the cooker
08:11 Now we will add the koftas to the cooker
08:21 Mix it well
08:29 Add the remaining koftas
08:34 Mix it well
08:42 Now we will add hot water to the koftas
08:52 Mix it well
09:05 Now we will close the cooker and wait for 1 whistle
09:13 After 1 whistle, let the cooker cool down and serve it
09:18 The gravy will be absorbed by the koftas and the koftas will be big in size
09:25 Our Dal Kofta is ready
09:30 Our cooker has cooled down, so let's open it
09:36 The kofta smells very good
09:38 Let's serve it
09:40 Stir it gently
09:47 Let's serve it
09:49 Do try it
