00:03 From humble beginnings, we've now grown to a team of over 70 people
00:07 around Australia and 10 in the US.
00:10 We're on some 4,000 sheep, cattle stations and ranches across the world.
00:16 We think we're really just starting our growth opportunity
00:20 to change the face of farming and ranching in the world.
00:25 It's been super exciting watching FarmBot grow into America as RanchBot.
00:31 In the genesis of FarmBot, we were thinking about the huge cost
00:35 associated with driving to check water all the time.
00:38 And we thought, what if we could do that and provide real-time reporting for farmers
00:42 so that they didn't need to go and check and instead,
00:45 they could go and fix things that need fixing when they need fixing.
00:50 FarmBot talks directly to the water sources on the farm,
00:56 whether that's a water storage tank, a pipe, a trough
01:00 or anything else on the farm that you want to connect through our sensors.
01:05 And then the device itself communicates back with satellites or 4G communication
01:10 to provide real-time monitoring of those assets on the farm.
01:16 So here we have our FarmBot rain gauge.
01:18 That is the most common addition to a FarmBot.
01:22 It allows you to automatically record your rainfall at the tank,
01:27 taking away the need from those manual rain gauges and needing to empty them daily.
01:32 You're able to export your data, compare the data.
01:36 We show you a month-on-month, year-on-year and a 90-day rolling average.
01:42 Water management in agriculture is obviously a global challenge,
01:46 one that's spoken about from the United Nations all the way down to the paddock.
01:51 It's a job that just has to be done every day.
01:53 And we thought, really, what if we could put that alerts and warnings
01:59 about water management issues in the farmer's pocket on their cell phone or on their laptop
02:05 and provide them real-time alerts and warnings about water problems on their farm.
02:11 We only build devices that can be sent out to a farmer in a box.
02:15 They have to be able to take them out of the box,
02:17 not read the instructions because we know they won't turn them on and they have to work.
02:26 We find events like AgSmart Connect really important to get there and show them firsthand
02:32 how simple and reliable technology like FarmBot can be.
02:36 We need to be where farmers are when they're thinking about working on the business, not in it.
02:43 They're going to events like this to think about,
02:47 "Hey, how can I run my farm better and what are the technologies and opportunities there?"
02:53 We think, start with things that are big problems every day that you can solve readily
02:57 and we think water management is one of those things that really can be solved
03:02 and the technology now is proven, easy and very, very affordable.
