00:00 Like I said earlier, I understand what starting means for some kids.
00:08 But for me, it's always been the same.
00:12 And I preach this to our team throughout the year, even in the summer and
00:16 the fall, before we're thinking about something like that.
00:19 No matter who you play for, remember, are you in there when the game's hard?
00:27 Are you in there when the game's outcome is still in balance at the end of the game?
00:32 Cuz that's when it's most important.
00:35 That's when you have the ability to really impact the game.
00:39 Not that you can't prior to that, but there's no more time.
00:43 And so who's in the game when it's hard?
00:45 Who's in the game, the closing minutes,
00:48 it's where you'll find how your coach believes in you and trusts you.
00:54 Who starts is a whole other matter.
00:57 And the other thing I always tell them is after the first few minutes of the game,
01:04 everybody comes off the bench.
01:06 And that's what I try to get them to understand.
01:08 You have to have the mentality of understanding how to go from sitting on
01:12 the bench to getting in the game and playing at full speed.
01:15 Because everybody's gonna do it.
01:17 That's more important than who starts the game,
01:20 is how good are you at sitting for a while?
01:23 And then getting into the flow of the game right away and
01:25 not having to have two or three possessions to get going.
