The Bulldogs have missed the NCAA tournament for two straight years; what must they do to make it back?
Transcript
00:00 The Mississippi State Bulldogs have had a confusing baseball season up to this point.
00:06 Over this past weekend, the Bulldogs traveled to Oxford and had a chance to take a big step
00:12 forward in the postseason race, but after dropping games 2 and 3, the Bulldogs fell
00:17 to 7-8 in SEC conference play.
00:21 The Bulldogs are set to host Auburn, Missouri and Alabama in the back half of the SEC schedule.
00:28 The SEC series is winnable for Mississippi State and if they can handle their business,
00:33 they could finish the stretch 6-3.
00:36 However, 6 wins would leave them with 14 SEC wins, likely having them in the tournament.
00:45 However, they must win a game or two in the SEC tournament to feel safe.
00:51 The Bulldogs will also travel to Vanderbilt and Arkansas.
00:55 These are two of the best teams in the country and the Razorbacks may as well be the best,
01:01 but Mississippi State has not taken a series from them since 2018.
01:07 Taking one of these road games will be key because a series win is far-fetched.
01:11 Typically, 13 or 14 SEC wins would make someone feel safe, but due to the Bulldogs' poor play
01:20 against an awful non-conference schedule, it will take a little more to push them over
01:26 the edge.
