00:02:28 Hey, football guy.
00:02:29 Martin, A-W-S.
00:02:42 Welcome to Part of My Take presented by DraftKings Sportsbook.
00:03:05 Today is Monday, February 26th.
00:03:09 And boys, it's happened again.
00:03:12 We got a court storming problem.
00:03:13 We've got some discourse when it comes to storming the court.
00:03:15 I think that nature kind of has a way of healing itself sometimes.
00:03:20 When fans storm the court and the fans get injured, I think that's good.
00:03:25 I think there should be a rule that if you're a player and a fan comes at you, you can just
00:03:30 go hog wild on them.
00:03:32 The free fight rule that I've had for a very long time.
00:03:35 Let the players have a free fight.
00:03:37 But yeah, we had a great Saturday of college hoops.
00:03:40 We can get to some of the other games, UConn and Villanova.
00:03:43 But the big story that captivated the country for, I don't know, three or four hours, was
00:03:48 Duke getting their ... or Wake Forest storming the court on Duke.
00:03:53 Kyle Filipowski getting maybe injured.
00:03:56 Have we had an MRI with him yet?
00:03:58 I don't think he's that injured.
00:03:59 I haven't seen it yet.
00:04:00 So I guess he sprained his ankle.
00:04:02 He may or may not have sprained his ankle tripping the guy that was-
00:04:05 Shoving someone, yeah.
00:04:06 That was storming.
00:04:07 He stuck his foot out.
00:04:08 The guy went flying, which is awesome.
00:04:09 But yeah, then after the game, he just said, "Yeah, it felt personal.
00:04:12 It felt like they were attacking me."
00:04:13 And then the overhead camera.
00:04:15 I don't know.
00:04:16 Have we always had these overhead cameras?
00:04:17 We saw that with Kaitlin Clark, right?
00:04:18 Yeah.
00:04:19 And now we see it here.
00:04:20 I think it's just installed strictly to review court storms.
00:04:25 It's installed so that when a player says, "Oh, my life was threatened," we can zoom
00:04:29 in and be like, "No, actually, you were the one shoving."
00:04:31 Yeah.
00:04:32 Which I don't ... Listen, that was a bang, bang play.
00:04:34 I don't know if I'm going to go all the way to say that Kyle Filipowski was actively trying
00:04:38 to push someone.
00:04:39 It was a bang, bang play.
00:04:41 I love court storming.
00:04:42 I'll always love court storming.
00:04:44 It's part of college basketball.
00:04:46 It's part of ... It's unique to the sport and students getting excited, college kids
00:04:50 being idiots.
00:04:52 I'm in for all of that because I once was a very, very dumb college student and I don't
00:04:55 forget that even though those years are very long, long ago.
00:04:59 But it was-
00:05:00 You did storm a court like a year ago.
00:05:01 Yeah, we did and that was fun.
00:05:02 Well, that was when Wisconsin-
00:05:03 Wasn't fucking awesome.
00:05:04 That's when Wisconsin won the Big Ten.
00:05:06 Yeah.
00:05:07 Outright.
00:05:08 Yeah.
00:05:09 Darren Revell tried to ... Because he said that guys should ... It was assault and that
00:05:14 it should be criminally prosecuted and all these ways.
00:05:18 Everyone came up with ways to stop court storming.
00:05:21 As a big J journalist myself, what I did was I went back and I found all the times Darren
00:05:25 Revell cheered about a court storming and I just retweeted them into the timeline.
00:05:28 Then he was like, "Didn't you do a show, Court Stormer or Storm Chasers?"
00:05:32 I was like, "Yeah."
00:05:33 And it rocked.
00:05:34 Yeah.
00:05:35 It was awesome.
00:05:36 It's fun.
00:05:37 You have to be ready to deal with the consequences.
00:05:39 Yeah, of course.
00:05:40 If you go on the court, you might get ... It's like the Harambe rules.
00:05:43 You run into the gorilla nest, you might ... Somebody's going to get shot.
00:05:47 The big story for me, outside of the fact that it was just reminding me that a ton of
00:05:52 reporters for a given sport don't like the fans and actually look down on them, which
00:05:57 always just baffles me, was I was just missing Coach K so much in this moment.
00:06:02 This was a moment built for Coach K. He would have probably gone into the wake forest.
00:06:07 He would have gone into the wake forest locker room.
00:06:09 He probably would have actually scheduled maybe a lecture on Monday at wake forest to
00:06:13 teach a class.
00:06:14 At center court.
00:06:15 Yeah.
00:06:16 He would have gotten everyone off the court.
00:06:17 He would have scolded them.
00:06:18 He would have asked for the microphone.
00:06:20 And then he would have given us a press conference where he was screaming and yelling and being
00:06:25 upset.
00:06:26 Not screaming and yelling.
00:06:27 Being his ... You know how Coach K used to-
00:06:28 He gets smarmy.
00:06:29 He screams without yelling.
00:06:31 He gets real disappointed.
00:06:34 Coach K thinks everybody in the world is his son.
00:06:36 Right.
00:06:37 He wouldn't talk to them like that.
00:06:38 And he would make sure to avoid all questions about the actual game and losing to wake forest.
00:06:43 And I missed him.
00:06:44 I missed him in this moment.
00:06:45 John Shire tried his best to give us a Coach K impression being like, "You have to ban
00:06:49 this forever."
00:06:50 Meanwhile, I think Duke is the one student section where the students basically touch
00:06:55 the players when they're inbounding a ball.
00:06:58 But I wish Philopowski didn't get hurt.
00:07:03 I hope no players get hurt.
00:07:04 I do think you probably need to ... Wake Forest maybe probably should have ... I think there
00:07:08 was time on the clock when the players were on the ...
00:07:10 Yeah, the clock hadn't expired yet.
00:07:11 That was excessive.
00:07:12 But other than that-
00:07:14 It was a false start.
00:07:15 Figure out a way to get ... I think Creighton did it perfectly where they basically just
00:07:21 walled off the entire UConn bench when they stormed the court.
00:07:25 Don't get rid of court storming.
00:07:27 Don't do that.
00:07:28 I agree.
00:07:29 That's the one thing that everyone who's trying to tell you that there should not be court
00:07:32 storming, they're fucking losers and they probably went to Syracuse or Northwestern.
00:07:38 That's a shot at you, Jake.
00:07:39 And don't remember what it's like to have fun in college.
00:07:41 I actually think that what Coach K would do would be their next home game, Duke's next
00:07:45 home game.
00:07:46 He would lecture his fans.
00:07:48 As an example, be like, "We're better than that.
00:07:51 We don't need to do what the Wake Forest of the world do.
00:07:54 We expect to win here at Duke and you're endangering yourselves and your opponents.
00:07:58 And more than anything, you're selling the reputation of your school if you do this."
00:08:02 So he would give a big lecture to Duke that is just 100% a slap in the face to Wake Forest.
00:08:06 And how many court stormings are there in a year?
00:08:08 Like 100?
00:08:09 I don't know.
00:08:10 There's a lot.
00:08:11 So we're trying to find a solution to a problem that doesn't really exist.
00:08:14 Yeah.
00:08:15 Wake Forest was, they were fast.
00:08:17 The fans were on it.
00:08:18 They were all over it.
00:08:19 You got to wait till the clock expires.
00:08:21 And then I agree that the way that they walled off UConn is the right way to do it.
00:08:25 So they can, all the players can file calmly off the court.
00:08:29 But in a situation like this, like if Filipowski intentionally tripped the person that was
00:08:34 sprinting full speed, by the way, that takes balls to just like sprint full speed across
00:08:38 the court.
00:08:39 Yes.
00:08:40 I'm okay with that.
00:08:41 I am too, because guess what?
00:08:42 His, like, this is what happens when a Kaitlin Clark is in a similar situation.
00:08:45 When you take a terrible loss and then you have fans in your face, that's an emotional
00:08:49 moment for the players too.
00:08:50 So I, I'm not going to go be like, "Oh, Filipowski, like what, how could he possibly do that?"
00:08:55 Again, bang, bang, play.
00:08:57 I just, I think he's probably fine.
00:08:59 I think he might've, I think it might've been a phantom roll of an ankle.
00:09:02 Like, "Oh shit, we lost."
00:09:03 And I just shoved the guy possibly, ow, my ankle hurts.
00:09:06 Ow, my arm, Rodney Dangerfield.
00:09:07 Yeah.
00:09:08 It's like if, if Grayson Allen was complaining about like a bruised chin bone all the time,
00:09:12 you'd be like, "Well, it's cause you stuck your foot out and did it."
00:09:15 I think it's a very smart play by him.
00:09:17 I think it's like you can change, no one's talking about the loss.
00:09:20 Yeah.
00:09:21 It's talking about court storming.
00:09:22 It is a, it's a heady play.
00:09:23 It's a very Duke play.
00:09:25 And guess what?
00:09:26 No matter what we say, what we do, kids are going to still rush on the court after a big
00:09:29 win at home.
00:09:30 Yeah.
00:09:31 Especially on a Saturday.
00:09:32 Correct.
00:09:33 It's just going to happen.
00:09:34 It's going to, and it's going to rock.
00:09:35 And those are memories that those kids will have for the rest of their lives.
00:09:36 They'll be like, "Remember that time we dummied Kyle Filipowski?"
00:09:39 Yeah.
00:09:40 That was sick.
00:09:41 I just want on the record, I'm pro court storming.
00:09:44 You came across, there was a moment in time where you and Darren Revell were lockstep
00:09:48 in your thoughts.
00:09:49 It was like you, Darren Revell, Seth Davis, and Jeff Goodman all being like, "This is
00:09:54 disgusting."
00:09:55 I don't think Jake is pro court storming.
00:09:58 I think he's like, "Yes, it happened, but were there insider agitators that were telling
00:10:03 the kids to storm the court?"
00:10:04 I am pro safety.
00:10:05 This is a big setup.
00:10:06 Yeah.
00:10:07 I didn't want anyone getting hurt, students or players.
00:10:09 You were quick to jump on the, "Oh my God, this is so bad.
00:10:13 He got hurt.
00:10:14 The students ran at him."
00:10:17 Yeah.
00:10:18 Until we saw the overhead.
00:10:19 You got to wait.
00:10:20 You got to wait.
00:10:21 Of course.
00:10:22 That's on me.
00:10:23 Storming the court with you guys in Madison was one of the most fun experiences I've
00:10:25 had.
00:10:26 You are a hypocrite too.
00:10:27 Yeah.
00:10:28 I never said I'm anti.
00:10:29 I am pro.
00:10:30 Students should have fun, but this is Wake Forest administration's fault for not having
00:10:34 a security plan.
00:10:35 Like you said, Creighton had a perfect plan.
00:10:37 If Wake Forest has this plan, you have to come with the plan.
00:10:40 Duke's coming to town.
00:10:41 Yeah.
00:10:42 I don't even-
00:10:43 Really, the issue is Wake Forest not being good enough at basketball to believe that
00:10:46 it has the security to have it.
00:10:48 There's another two people who are talking about that.
00:10:50 Oh, here we go.
00:10:51 Here comes Sir.
00:10:52 I didn't know if you were a Duke fan or a Nova fan.
00:10:55 We'll get to that.
00:10:58 Philly Hank is sprouting a rose petal from concrete.
00:11:04 I don't blame the security either because they're probably getting paid like seven bucks
00:11:08 an hour.
00:11:09 So pay them more?
00:11:10 Yeah.
00:11:11 I don't know.
00:11:12 I'm not going to blame some dude in a yellow coat who's getting paid minimum wage and has
00:11:17 a bunch of kids running at him.
00:11:18 The university should have had a better plan.
00:11:20 Sure.
00:11:21 You were for a moment there.
00:11:23 It was a group of big J journalists who fucking suck eggs and you were in that group.
00:11:29 That was a fact.
00:11:30 I mean, you don't release a notes app if you weren't in that group.
00:11:34 Yeah, I prematurely made a mistake.
00:11:36 I own it.
00:11:37 I don't double down.
00:11:38 I know when I'm wrong.
00:11:39 Jake, it's a tough 20 minutes for you.
00:11:40 It's always better to be right than to be first.
00:11:43 You're absolutely right.
00:11:45 And I was first.
00:11:46 Yeah.
00:11:47 I was right in first by saying the course storming rocks no matter what.
00:11:51 You know what?
00:11:52 I might be.
00:11:53 I might be anti safety.
00:11:54 Yeah.
00:11:55 I am too.
00:11:56 I am too.
00:11:57 Fine.
00:11:58 Yeah.
00:11:59 This is, listen, this is what being a man is all about.
00:12:01 You got to take chances sometimes.
00:12:02 Yeah.
00:12:03 If you're a fan, how many times are you going to get that opportunity if you're a wake forest
00:12:06 fan to beat Duke on your home court and then just go balls to the wall sprinting full speed
00:12:11 right like in the thick of the game.
00:12:13 Like I'm doing the bare minimum right now of being like, well, you really should wait
00:12:17 till the times.
00:12:18 Fuck that.
00:12:19 Run at any time.
00:12:20 Yeah.
00:12:21 Anti safety.
00:12:22 As soon as the game feels like it's over and fucking storm the court.
00:12:23 And you know what?
00:12:24 I bet you if you ask that guy on wake forest, if he, if he ended up getting injured, if
00:12:28 he's got like a, a torn MCL or something, he would be like, yeah, it was worth it.
00:12:33 It was worth it.
00:12:34 I'd do it again.
00:12:35 The, the one, the one wake forest guy who padded Philip housey on the back and set Davis
00:12:39 was like, did you see him try to shove him?
00:12:41 Oh, the second guy.
00:12:42 Yeah.
00:12:43 Fucking my second guy.
00:12:44 I would have had more of that guy.
00:12:45 I didn't even like he touched him.
00:12:46 I guess you can't touch them, but you should be able to touch them.
00:12:50 Fucking chaos.
00:12:51 That's the thing.
00:12:53 If you want to touch the players, they're going to touch you too.
00:12:56 Yeah, that's, I'm cool with that.
00:12:57 And next thing you know, very much cool.
00:12:58 People are either beating each other up or beating each other, beating each other off.
00:13:02 Yeah.
00:13:03 So either way, it's going to be fun either way.
00:13:05 Yeah.
00:13:06 I just don't want court storming to ever stop.
00:13:07 And it looks in every time one of these situation pops up, it's like all these big J's just
00:13:12 show up in like, this has to stop these guys who are sitting in a press box who don't
00:13:16 remember what it was like to have fun.
00:13:18 So do it safely.
00:13:19 Fine.
00:13:20 But keep doing it.
00:13:21 Do it more.
00:13:22 Agreed.
00:13:23 It's fine.
00:13:24 Harder.
00:13:25 Listen, I would, I would rather, I like seeing storming a court like this way more than I
00:13:27 like seeing that guy and his girlfriend or wife or whatever calling Kevin Durant a bitch.
00:13:32 Yeah.
00:13:33 And then Kevin Durant walking over to, that was the funniest.
00:13:35 It was bad for podcasters.
00:13:36 They called him, they called him a bitch and then he walked over to the woman and the woman
00:13:39 was like, here, shake my hand.
00:13:41 And then they were like, well, his, her, her brother died and I have a podcast.
00:13:44 Yeah, it was the only thing missing was if the woman was maybe skinnier and the man was
00:13:50 fatter, it would have been a episode of part of my team.
00:13:52 Yeah.
00:13:53 Yeah.
00:13:54 Spent like six years calling him a bitch then being like, Hey dude, can you come on?
00:13:57 Yeah.
00:13:58 Please come on.
00:13:59 That was us.
00:14:00 We want to have him on the podcast to ask him if he is a baby back bitch.
00:14:03 Yeah, no, we don't.
00:14:05 I think I've since changed my tune.
00:14:07 He's not a baby back bitch.
00:14:08 I just wonder some people are asking that.
00:14:10 Yes.
00:14:11 And the people that we're talking about are, that's us six years ago.
00:14:15 Right.
00:14:16 We're talking about it.
00:14:17 Correct.
00:14:18 We've evolved, we've changed our stance.
00:14:19 More facts came out, Jake.
00:14:20 So we've updated our minds and uh, I hate that I keep bringing up Ravel, but he's when
00:14:24 he, when I retweeted all his old tweets and people were like, dude, was this you?
00:14:28 And he's like, yeah, 2021 times have changed.
00:14:33 He's experienced personal growth since then.
00:14:35 You knew him.
00:14:36 Yeah.
00:14:37 Uh, I like that.
00:14:38 It makes you're like 16, 45 to 47.
00:14:42 They're trying to cancel you for like high school tweets.
00:14:44 What?
00:14:45 Yeah.
00:14:46 They're trying to cancel you for high school tweets.
00:14:47 Yeah.
00:14:48 Ravel had a, uh, that was in his pre woke moment.
00:14:50 2021.
00:14:51 2021.
00:14:52 Way different.
00:14:53 What rocks is that you can always blame anything that happened in 2020 or 2021 or like I had
00:14:57 COVID.
00:14:58 Yeah.
00:14:59 COVID time.
00:15:00 Yeah.
00:15:01 Uh, but yeah, it was a great, it was a great weekend of college hoops.
00:15:02 Feels like we're getting ready for March.
00:15:04 Uh, big story in college hoops this weekend.
00:15:07 Rick Pitino brought the white suit.
00:15:09 I know.
00:15:10 And he looked good and they won and he apparently he had to hit up a tailor and bribe a tailor
00:15:16 to make this suit for him.
00:15:17 Shout out John Fanta.
00:15:18 He was, he, John Fanta got the whole story.
00:15:20 Yeah.
00:15:21 That's like, I mean, this is why John Fanta exists.
00:15:24 It is.
00:15:25 And this is great reporting on his part.
00:15:26 Yeah.
00:15:27 And Pitino and the white suit looks fantastic.
00:15:30 Big win.
00:15:31 I wish I had known that Pitino was wearing the white suit.
00:15:32 You have to bet on the white suit.
00:15:34 It camouflages all the stains for Rick.
00:15:37 And so he's out there looking his best.
00:15:38 Oh, our stalker did hit me up.
00:15:39 He's like, Oh wait, what'd he say?
00:15:40 Let me read it.
00:15:41 He's, he was like, this is what winners do.
00:15:44 Yeah.
00:15:45 I mean, yes, I respect Rick when he's wearing the white suit.
00:15:50 This guy doesn't understand that we like Rick Pitino.
00:15:53 You have to like Rick Pitino.
00:15:54 He's, he's good for college basketball.
00:15:55 Yeah.
00:15:56 Hold on.
00:15:57 Where he texts me almost immediately after the game, it felt like it might've been just
00:16:00 Rick from, Oh yeah.
00:16:03 You see what winners do.
00:16:05 Go out and back it up against your friend McDermott.
00:16:07 We had Greg McDermott on one time.
00:16:09 Yeah.
00:16:10 That's what happens when you poke the bear.
00:16:11 No quid in coincidence.
00:16:13 They're looking forward to seeing you in Chicago for the game on the fifth.
00:16:16 So if I'm reading this correctly, credit to us.
00:16:19 Yeah.
00:16:20 Credit to us for getting the best out of Rick Pitino.
00:16:23 Yeah.
00:16:24 You're welcome.
00:16:25 You're welcome.
00:16:26 We're, we're, I, who keeps stalking me, the Rick whispers.
00:16:28 Yeah.
00:16:29 Um, so we had another big game, Nova Yukon.
00:16:32 What happened?
00:16:33 So I didn't, I didn't catch that one.
00:16:34 Um, I was at a bar that didn't have TVs when that game was going on and I haven't checked
00:16:38 the score.
00:16:39 So good, good news.
00:16:40 PFT, it was dubbed the no lose.
00:16:41 So no one lost.
00:16:42 Okay.
00:16:43 Yeah.
00:16:44 But somebody had to lose.
00:16:45 Yeah.
00:16:46 So the way I, so the way I started shaking out as the game was, was, uh, we were talking
00:16:50 about, we were previewing it last week and Danny Hurley tweeted out a game of thrones
00:16:54 meme with him.
00:16:55 He was pissed off because they just lost to McDermott.
00:16:58 So you felt like something big was coming from Yukon, but I feel like this was a really
00:17:01 no lose situation for Villanova who we playing like they had, you know, every opportunity,
00:17:06 no, no expectations.
00:17:07 Correct.
00:17:08 We're on Villanova.
00:17:09 So at the very least I expected them to keep it close within probably 10 points or so.
00:17:13 Um, no, unfortunately they got absolutely boat raced.
00:17:17 Um, and Max was very upset.
00:17:21 I think he might still be upset.
00:17:23 Was it a beat down?
00:17:24 It was a beat down of, yeah, it was a beat down.
00:17:26 Well, Tristan Newton had a, uh, a triple double.
00:17:29 Uh, they were actively like they were kind of toying with Villanova at the end.
00:17:32 They kept him in till the end.
00:17:34 Like and every time he passed the ball, he was one assist away.
00:17:37 Every time he passed the ball, it like the crowd would go crazy.
00:17:39 And then finally he got it.
00:17:41 Um, I, I was, I was behind cause I, I, I caught some guy picking his nose very aggressively.
00:17:47 So I had to rewind my TV, normal stuff on a Saturday night.
00:17:50 Uh, so I was like maybe a minute behind and so I'm watching the end of the game with two
00:17:56 minutes left and I was like, he's not going to get this cause they're going to pull everyone
00:17:59 out.
00:18:00 And I texted the group text being like, well at least no one got a triple double max.
00:18:04 And then like right away it happened because I was behind and I was like, whoops.
00:18:07 And then max just went nuclear just deciding to, and then Hank jumped in.
00:18:11 Hank's a Villanova fan.
00:18:12 Now if you had been said they would be on the game.
00:18:14 You would never, yeah, I would never known to say that.
00:18:17 And they, Hank, Hank, Hank was texting being like, I hope I fucking pray the Villanova
00:18:21 plays the Badgers in the tournament.
00:18:23 What, why is this a rivalry now?
00:18:25 My, the Badgers are not good by the way.
00:18:26 They're going to be in the tournament.
00:18:28 They're not good.
00:18:29 They hurt.
00:18:30 They, the minute I said I was becoming emotionally vulnerable, they stunk from that moment on.
00:18:35 So they actually made it very easy for me.
00:18:37 So my expectations are low, but Villanova, I don't know if there'll be in the tournament
00:18:42 first four out actually three, three quad one games still left on the schedule.
00:18:47 First four out.
00:18:48 So right now if the tournament started, they would not be in, but they got the according
00:18:51 to Joe Lennar.
00:18:52 Like that doesn't mean anything.
00:18:54 Well, I mean he's usually pretty right.
00:18:57 That is incorrect.
00:18:58 But Blake has them in the tournament and it would be a, it would be disgusting if they
00:19:01 let you, would be very disappointed if they didn't make it.
00:19:03 But you got to worry about the bubble.
00:19:05 So why are you coming at me?
00:19:07 I was, I was upset.
00:19:08 I was emotional.
00:19:09 Yeah.
00:19:10 So how are you feeling now?
00:19:11 And Hank, what, what, what is your, are you, is there a beef now?
00:19:14 No, I was, I was, I was just with Max.
00:19:16 He was, he was in a bad place.
00:19:17 I was trying to fire him up.
00:19:18 I was also just trying to fire him up, you know, as a friend and also just to, just to
00:19:21 get some spiciness in the group text.
00:19:22 Just to get him, actually I just got a text from Blake.
00:19:25 He's listening live.
00:19:26 He's got great ears.
00:19:27 He has them as the, uh, one of the final four into the NIT.
00:19:33 So NIT that's his NIT bracket.
00:19:36 Max said, I pray we play you as a 12 five.
00:19:38 Pray.
00:19:39 Hank said, mega max lock of the millennium Nova versus Wisconsin.
00:19:43 Out of nowhere.
00:19:45 What, what, what, uh, so that was your first Villanova game you watched Hank?
00:19:53 What did you get back into it?
00:19:55 It was the, the tweet I thought was a little over the top.
00:19:59 Obviously, you know, you, you like that out of your coach with the, uh, the game of thrones
00:20:02 tweet.
00:20:04 It was like 88% of the public money was on Yukon and seemed like a letdown spot.
00:20:07 It seemed like everyone was like, Oh my God, he put out this game of thrones tweet.
00:20:11 They're going to kill him.
00:20:12 And you know, big East rivalry, big spread.
00:20:15 But Danny Hurley backs up what he said.
00:20:17 I know, but I was just thinking, he said that the Madison square, he said, no, he said,
00:20:21 you can get us now, get us now cause you won't get us later.
00:20:24 And then he was completely correct in saying that.
00:20:26 And I was thinking big East basketball, it's going to be close rivalry game.
00:20:30 And then Villanova I think shot 7%.
00:20:31 So you thought it was a letdown spot for Yukon after they were coming off of a letdown.
00:20:35 Yeah.
00:20:36 Yeah.
00:20:37 It was a double.
00:20:38 Also shout out game Dave to having a Danny Hurley shoot half court shots and he immediately
00:20:43 just yelled, fuck.
00:20:44 I love that.
00:20:45 Like as loud as possible.
00:20:46 I love that.
00:20:47 Also, I heard a rumor that college game day was not allowing max.
00:20:51 I heard the same rumor that, that they were not, they're not in the interest of a, they're
00:20:55 not interested in promoting part of my take.
00:20:57 Yes.
00:20:58 And so for all the people that showed up with max has, I got, I got tips on, they were confiscating
00:21:02 those signs.
00:21:03 Yes.
00:21:04 ESPN is, it's swear to God, someone DM me and said they brought a sign and they took
00:21:10 it.
00:21:11 Yep.
00:21:12 I heard that too.
00:21:13 So they'll let you do football game day.
00:21:14 Yes.
00:21:15 But they won't let students bring in fan.
00:21:18 They were trying to hire me at the time.
00:21:20 Also, how did they know that's part of my tape?
00:21:22 Max soda.
00:21:23 I mean everyone in that booth listens to us.
00:21:25 Max are they trying to hire you?
00:21:26 Shout out, shout out Kevin's shout out Kyle.
00:21:28 Who else is in that booth?
00:21:29 I don't know.
00:21:30 In the, in the truck, but ESPN was probably a Joe.
00:21:32 He is Joe ESPN probably sees all the max memes and their next big move is to hire max.
00:21:37 Yeah.
00:21:38 And ESPN.
00:21:39 Ooh.
00:21:40 Yep.
00:21:41 I'm making my meme.
00:21:42 So wait, max back to the game.
00:21:43 Yeah.
00:21:44 What do you think?
00:21:45 We're back to the game.
00:21:49 Well, at least you're what is it a make or miss league?
00:21:52 Yeah.
00:21:53 Shooting 12% from three is not going to win you back.
00:21:57 Yeah.
00:21:58 Listen, Max is Max was sitting at, at the bar, but like, you know, when you stand on
00:22:01 the bottom of your chair, so you're even taller.
00:22:03 Yeah.
00:22:04 He was doing that yelling at the TV and I just kept looking at the bartender and being
00:22:07 like, what, what is go credit to me, Max?
00:22:09 I didn't, I told you before I didn't do the thing I was going to do, which is going to
00:22:13 be very mean because you guys were at a Declan's my, uh, one of my very good friends owns the
00:22:17 bar and I was going to have him go over before the game and be like, Hey, if Yukon covers
00:22:22 big cats paying for the entire tab just to have everyone root for Yukon at the table,
00:22:26 didn't do that.
00:22:28 So credit to me.
00:22:29 Yeah.
00:22:30 At least I wouldn't have had to pay for the tab.
00:22:31 And I realized what I should do if that ever happens again is I should actually make it
00:22:35 like shots for the entire bar.
00:22:38 Yeah.
00:22:39 So the whole bar roots against max.
00:22:41 I would leave.
00:22:42 I'm going to do that.
00:22:43 I'm going to do that.
00:22:44 That's what I thought you were saying at first when you were like, I was going to cover the
00:22:46 tab, but no, you were just paying for Max's table.
00:22:48 Yeah.
00:22:49 The, well he was with like 10 dudes.
00:22:50 So I was going to just get all the great Saturday up until that.
00:22:55 And then you woke up this morning, you put on your six or shirt and you're like, it's
00:22:59 going to be different today.
00:23:00 Delta ass.
00:23:01 I mean, no sixers.
00:23:02 Yeah, no, they, you can't even get that, uh, from, so Nova in or out.
00:23:08 They're going to be in there.
00:23:10 It doesn't help.
00:23:11 Started the day yesterday.
00:23:12 First four out.
00:23:13 They finished the day.
00:23:14 They can't, they can't lose to Georgetown.
00:23:15 That would be a quad three or four loss.
00:23:17 That would be very bad.
00:23:18 Max.
00:23:19 Georgetown's must win.
00:23:20 You need a resume builder.
00:23:22 Well that's not a resume builder.
00:23:23 No, no, no.
00:23:24 They don't have three quad one games after that.
00:23:27 Okay.
00:23:28 Win some quad one games, man.
00:23:29 If we win, it's not hard.
00:23:31 And then when two of the next three were in, go do it.
00:23:34 It's not hard.
00:23:35 Max versus pug next week.
00:23:36 Huge bubble game.
00:23:37 Yeah.
00:23:38 No, do it.
00:23:39 Max, win some quad one games, quad two games.
00:23:42 That's all that matters this time of year.
00:23:44 Quad one and two.
00:23:45 Yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:23:46 Okay.
00:23:47 Uh, should we participate in the, in the difficult discussion that's happening across Michigan
00:23:51 regarding Tom Izzo?
00:23:53 Yeah, it's over.
00:23:54 You think it's over?
00:23:55 I was a really bad loss.
00:23:57 Tom Izzo.
00:23:58 Um, we were very early on this take, which we made, uh, I think being sarcastic that
00:24:02 he's overrated.
00:24:03 Now, now it seems like the world's catching up to that take.
00:24:06 It feels like, it feels like we lost Kay, we lost Rory Williams, we lost Beheim.
00:24:12 Beheim, by the way, getting like a Beheim day this quick.
00:24:16 Yeah.
00:24:17 That feels, that feels weird.
00:24:18 He's got a little, a little time pass.
00:24:19 He like, he, he was very upset he got fired.
00:24:22 Um, yeah, I think Izzo, that was a really, really bad loss.
00:24:26 Things are tough right now for Michigan state.
00:24:28 I feel bad for him.
00:24:29 If you're Michigan state and you, you have a big brother win a national championship
00:24:33 in football, you were pointing at basketball.
00:24:35 So you're like, well, it doesn't matter where basketball school and then to have this implode
00:24:39 on them.
00:24:40 But I feel like with Izzo, are they going to, would they fire Izzo?
00:24:44 No.
00:24:45 You have to let Izzo walk on his own.
00:24:46 So you have to be like, well, we'll fire you if you don't retire.
00:24:48 Yeah.
00:24:49 He's, he will gracefully go away.
00:24:51 It's not like you can, there's no retirement home for coaches and be like, we're sending
00:24:54 you to a home.
00:24:55 Right.
00:24:56 Look after you.
00:24:57 Right.
00:24:58 No, he'll, yeah, he'll have to, they'll, they'll do it right.
00:25:00 I have a trivia for you, PFT.
00:25:02 Okay.
00:25:03 Here, I'm going to list some names.
00:25:06 Okay.
00:25:07 Jeff Capel, Kenny Payne, Hubert Davis, Earl Grant, Adrian Autry, Damon Stoudemire, Micah
00:25:12 Shrewsbury, Kevin Keats, Leonard Hamilton.
00:25:15 Okay.
00:25:16 What are those?
00:25:17 Guards?
00:25:18 No, those are ACC head coaches who happened to be black.
00:25:22 Okay.
00:25:23 That was actually a graphic on ESPN.
00:25:25 Interesting.
00:25:26 ACC coaches who happened to be black.
00:25:29 Happened to be.
00:25:30 Happened to be.
00:25:31 They just stumbled upon it.
00:25:32 What a coincidence.
00:25:33 I don't know what the fuck that was.
00:25:36 That's wild.
00:25:37 They, it's way better to say are black, black head coaches, black head coaches who happened
00:25:42 to be, but yeah, we're putting up this stat.
00:25:44 Isn't this a weird coincidence?
00:25:45 The whoever made that graphic is so scared of language that they went with happens to
00:25:52 be black.
00:25:54 So why would you make that graphic if it's happens to be, I don't know.
00:25:57 It was one of the weirdest things ever.
00:25:59 I thought it was a Photoshop when I first saw it, but then I saw it everywhere.
00:26:02 I was like, this actually was put on air.
00:26:04 I love that.
00:26:05 Happens to be black.
00:26:06 I kind of love it.
00:26:07 You know what I was thinking about the other day?
00:26:08 You remember back in, when was that?
00:26:09 Was it 2020?
00:26:11 Maybe before when ESPN had the guy named Robert E. Lee.
00:26:15 Or his name was Bob Lee, Robert Lee.
00:26:18 Yeah, Robert Lee.
00:26:19 And he was going to announce.
00:26:20 Asian dude.
00:26:21 Yeah, he's an Asian guy.
00:26:22 He still calls games for them.
00:26:23 Yeah.
00:26:24 He was going to announce a game at UVA and they moved him off the assignment because
00:26:25 his name was Robert Lee.
00:26:29 We were insane for a little bit there.
00:26:31 Didn't what?
00:26:32 What was the DJ's guy?
00:26:33 The DJ who ended racism?
00:26:34 Didn't we get over this?
00:26:36 Who was that at the MLS?
00:26:38 Oh yeah.
00:26:39 Not Tiesto.
00:26:40 No.
00:26:41 David Guetta.
00:26:42 David Guetta.
00:26:43 Uh huh.
00:26:44 Just shout out George Floyd.
00:26:45 Shout out to his family.
00:26:46 Shout out to his family.
00:26:47 Can you play that clip?
00:26:48 Start that clip real quick.
00:26:49 The, but yeah, happens to be black.
00:26:51 That is, you got to, you got to pause and be like, what am I saying with this?
00:26:55 Yeah.
00:26:56 Their head coach is first and they also, it's just a coincidence.
00:26:59 They just happen to be black.
00:27:00 They just are black.
00:27:01 They're just doing a graphic together to show that they have, they all happen to be black
00:27:04 together.
00:27:05 That's yeah.
00:27:06 David Guetta.
00:27:07 He, maybe they meant to say happy to be black.
00:27:09 Yeah, possibly.
00:27:10 Or yeah, here's, here's David Guetta ending racism.
00:27:13 Bang.
00:27:14 There it is.
00:27:16 See a racism.
00:27:18 Now we party.
00:27:19 Yeah.
00:27:20 See like that.
00:27:21 Whoever wrote that happens to be black.
00:27:23 They should've just been like, dude, someone in the truck.
00:27:25 She's been like, Hey dude, don't you remember David Guetta?
00:27:28 Yeah.
00:27:29 We, we been through this.
00:27:30 We done, we did this.
00:27:31 But the graphics are said to happen to be black, but actually I don't see color.
00:27:35 So who knows?
00:27:36 Crazy, crazy.
00:27:37 All right.
00:27:38 Any other college basketball?
00:27:39 I want to see what happens to be Polish.
00:27:40 Happen to be Italian.
00:27:43 Happen to be Italian.
00:27:44 Uh, anything else before we talk some other sports and I do a quick ad, I think that was
00:27:48 all college basketball.
00:27:49 Houston Baylor was awesome.
00:27:51 Well until the, the one Baylor player, he lost the ball.
00:27:55 They're just kids.
00:27:56 Well, no, he missed a free throw and then he lost the ball and then he made a terrible
00:27:59 foul.
00:28:00 Um, yeah, his controller got unplugged.
00:28:02 Uh, yeah, that was, that was one of those moments too.
00:28:05 I went and saw migration.
00:28:06 Everyone should go see it.
00:28:07 A great kids movie.
00:28:09 And I was watching that game and like underneath while my son was sitting on my lap watching
00:28:14 a kid's movie being like this fucking asshole just lost the ball.
00:28:18 God damn it.
00:28:19 I knew he was going to miss that foul shot.
00:28:20 Oh, well he was like a 57% 100% he breaks out every single time.
00:28:23 Yeah.
00:28:24 Um, but yeah, that was a great game.
00:28:25 I, I bet on Houston's really good in that game and I got a future on him.
00:28:29 So I'm just rooting for them to win no matter what.
00:28:31 So they didn't cover then the brick, then the buzzer beater that wasn't, wasn't what
00:28:35 a wild ride to get this.
00:28:36 It was crazy.
00:28:37 All right.
00:28:38 Uh, before we talk some other sports, the Chevy Silverado has commanding and unstoppable
00:28:42 grit where Chevy guys, legendary capability and dependability too.

00:29:33 Other stories.
00:29:34 The cubs are back.
00:29:35 Cody Bellinger finally got, uh, signed Jake.
00:29:38 You sent him the, uh, list, right?
00:29:42 Hank's list.
00:29:43 I don't want to see it.
00:29:44 Yeah.
00:29:45 I said, Hey Cody, congrats on the new deal.
00:29:46 Here's Hank's full top 10 all time Patriots list plus honorable mentions.
00:29:49 This is highly confidential.
00:29:51 Only me, you and Hank have access to the full list.
00:29:52 Can you reply to it?
00:29:54 Good.
00:29:55 No, not yet.
00:29:56 All right.
00:29:57 I'm going to check out the platforms though.
00:29:58 Yeah.
00:29:59 Make sure he sees it.
00:30:00 I followed him on Twitter.
00:30:01 He has to follow back for me to DM.
00:30:02 So this is on Instagram.
00:30:03 Okay.
00:30:04 Also shout out this woman, Lisa.
00:30:05 It's just a fun little story, but there's a woman who lives in a cubs fan who lives
00:30:10 in Arizona named Lisa L dubs, which great name.
00:30:13 Uh, she said on Friday night or Friday afternoon, I heard that they signed Bellinger just now
00:30:18 from a good friend who's in Arizona but can't find anything online about it.
00:30:22 Have you heard anything?
00:30:23 And so everyone was like, Lisa was right.
00:30:25 And Jeff Passan actually said like Lisa was right.
00:30:28 So yeah, shout out Lisa.
00:30:29 Lisa, good, good job.
00:30:30 Good job, Lisa.
00:30:31 We also have, um, an update on the uniforms.
00:30:34 People still debating it.
00:30:35 We're seeing more Cox.
00:30:37 We saw like a full, who was that?
00:30:39 What team was it?
00:30:40 Someone was bent over.
00:30:41 Yeah.
00:30:42 Somebody was bent over and you could see, I don't know what that was.
00:30:45 It looked like his Dick was in the back.
00:30:46 Yeah.
00:30:47 Like his Dick was inverted.
00:30:48 If you have, listen, if you're, if your Dick is underneath your balls and you're an MLB
00:30:53 player and you've gotten away with it for this long, nobody knows these pants are your
00:30:56 worst nightmare.
00:30:57 Yeah.
00:30:58 It's a, it's gotten pretty crazy.
00:30:59 Revelle continuing to, uh, to, to carry water.
00:31:03 He said, spoiler alert, the see-through jerseys through the pants.
00:31:07 Isn't a new thing.
00:31:08 It happens all the time on photo day.
00:31:10 And he had 10 years of the Cincinnati reds dong showing.
00:31:14 Okay.
00:31:15 Spoiler alert.
00:31:16 So we had that one on here, that one queued up or somebody sent it to him.
00:31:19 Like here's a hot tip.
00:31:20 I don't know.
00:31:21 He just had it ready to go.
00:31:22 I think they should, they should put like a little blurb mosaic on the, on the player's
00:31:25 crotches all year long on TV.
00:31:27 Yeah.
00:31:28 You know, let's fucking call him cause you've mentioned him so many times.
00:31:30 Our e-sports reporter, Darren Raffel.
00:31:33 Here we go.
00:31:34 Uh, let's see.
00:31:35 I'm going to just ask him how many years he went back to look at penises through see-through
00:31:38 pants.
00:31:39 He probably is not going to pick up after last time.
00:31:44 Well, he's kind of a glutton for punishment.
00:31:46 What if there's a game and it's raining and someone always sends him clips of the show?
00:31:51 How, how see-through these things going to get?
00:31:54 Seriously, it's be wet t-shirt contest.
00:31:56 I don't think he's picking up.
00:32:00 He's probably looking at, he's probably going through years and years of penises.
00:32:04 He's, yeah, he's hitting the door.
00:32:06 You've reached Darren Raffel.
00:32:07 Please leave your name in the chat.
00:32:09 Yeah.
00:32:10 I mean, step one, make the bases bigger.
00:32:12 Step two, make the dicks and balls more visible.
00:32:14 Yeah.
00:32:15 Step three.
00:32:16 Now you're the biggest sport in the world.
00:32:17 Yeah.
00:32:18 Watch out NFL.
00:32:19 You did it.
00:32:20 Do you guys have, do you guys have who's back to your flacko the Eagle?
00:32:23 I want to flacko the owl.
00:32:24 Oh, sorry.
00:32:25 Flacko the owl.
00:32:26 Owl, Eagle.
00:32:27 Flacko the Raven.
00:32:28 He's a fuck.
00:32:29 Probably a Brown.
00:32:30 Yeah.
00:32:31 Happens to be a Brown.
00:32:32 Do you want to save for who's back the week?
00:32:33 We'd save for him.
00:32:34 We can save it.
00:32:35 Yeah.
00:32:36 Yeah.
00:32:37 Should we, is it time?
00:32:38 Number four Patriot of all time.
00:32:39 Are we ready?
00:32:40 What are you laughing about Max?
00:32:41 Happens to be a Brown.
00:32:42 It was funny.
00:32:43 Yeah.
00:32:44 Thank you, Max.
00:32:45 Okay.
00:32:46 Ready?
00:32:47 Yeah.
00:32:48 Are you ready?
00:32:50 I'm ready.
00:32:52 Okay.
00:32:53 We think this might be, this is going to be telling because it's reminder it's offense,
00:32:58 defense, offense, offense for the top, top five.
00:33:02 Can we do a quick recap so people know where we're at?
00:33:05 Uh, yeah, we have Dante Hightower in the five spot.
00:33:08 We have Ty Law in the four spot.
00:33:11 Wait, no, no, no, no.
00:33:12 Six, five, six, five, six, five, six, five, six, five.
00:33:15 Hold on.
00:33:16 Do it again.
00:33:17 Dante Hightower in the six spot.
00:33:18 We have Ty Law in the five spot.
00:33:20 Okay.
00:33:21 And the honorable mentions so far are the Lighthouse and Chris Long and Bethel Johnson.
00:33:25 Chris Long was not on it.
00:33:26 I did do some reflecting.
00:33:28 I did some research.
00:33:29 I did reach out to Chris.
00:33:30 Uh, I apologize for my comments towards him.
00:33:33 He is on the honorable mention list.
00:33:35 Can we make a quote card out of that?
00:33:36 I apologize to my comments towards Chris Long.
00:33:38 Yeah.
00:33:39 I apologize to Hank Lockwood because he's, he heard what you said and he, he asked you,
00:33:43 he's like, keep my name out your mouth.
00:33:46 And it dawned on me that Hank has become Florio.
00:33:48 Hank Lockwood is doing, you're doing fan fiction.
00:33:51 You're trying to get clicks off his name.
00:33:52 Well, it wasn't fan fiction.
00:33:53 It is a fact that, uh, he did play for the Eagles the next year and he is very good friends
00:33:57 with Lane Johnson.
00:33:58 So I kind of, uh, but there, there was reports, there was articles that were written that
00:34:02 he was like, he hated that Lane Johnson said that he disputed all of the claims that Lane
00:34:07 Johnson made.
00:34:08 That I kind of, you know, memory hold.
00:34:11 Yeah.
00:34:12 Memory hold.
00:34:13 And I was just like, he's friends with Lane Johnson.
00:34:14 He loved it when he said that he definitely agreed.
00:34:16 Not the case.
00:34:17 And I apologize.
00:34:18 Also, you forget that the Lane Johnson quote was not even the Lane Johnson quote because
00:34:22 we said it, we said it, he had kind of agreed with it and hat like not really like jokey
00:34:29 agreed with it.
00:34:30 Then coward said that like did a whole segment about it and then it just became fact.
00:34:34 Yeah.
00:34:35 It's actually kind of funny that we were the start of that story and then Hank is somehow
00:34:38 mad at Chris Long.
00:34:39 Yeah.
00:34:40 You were sitting in the room.
00:34:41 You got that story really wrong.
00:34:43 Okay.
00:34:44 So you take it back.
00:34:45 Chris Long, uh, honorable mention Patriot.
00:34:47 Yes.
00:34:48 That's good.
00:34:49 Uh, and then in the number four spot.
00:34:50 Okay.
00:34:51 Wait, do six and five again.
00:34:53 Dante had tower six.
00:34:54 Okay.
00:34:55 Tie law five.
00:34:56 Did you watch the other two episodes?
00:34:57 I did watch the other two.
00:34:58 Uh, I am a little upset.
00:35:00 They kind of just yada yada, uh, 2003 and 2004, which the whole series is called dynasty.
00:35:07 The first three episodes were great.
00:35:09 And then at the end of episode three, they were like, yeah, they won in 2003 and won
00:35:14 2004 dynasty happened.
00:35:16 And it's like, yeah, that was the other two are the, are what make it a dynasty.
00:35:20 Yes.
00:35:21 And that was, you know, they won a 21 game win streak.
00:35:23 They were dominant.
00:35:24 There was the whole, there's a lot of lore in those two seasons with the paint Manning
00:35:27 and a lot of the playoff wins.
00:35:29 Brady becoming, you know, a superstar that I didn't appreciate them.
00:35:33 It's like, basically they spent 40 minutes talking about deflate gate five minutes or
00:35:37 a spygate.
00:35:38 Yeah.
00:35:39 Five minutes.
00:35:40 Basically just a quick highlight package of Oh three Oh four.
00:35:42 And I would have liked them to reverse it.
00:35:44 This documentary is maybe not off on a great foot in terms of who's I would have liked
00:35:52 a, I want some more biased, uh, direction in this documentary.
00:35:58 I haven't watched a documentary for the masses, which I guess is what you're supposed to do
00:36:03 to.
00:36:04 I was just expecting pure Patriots porn and that expecting to be, you know, days and days
00:36:09 of, of, of porn.
00:36:11 And it was just, they just were like, yep, they did.
00:36:13 They did like a back to back super bowl, a full episode on spygate basically.
00:36:18 And I had forgotten some of the details in spygate.
00:36:20 I need to watch.
00:36:21 Do you remember like after, after the story came out that they were, they're videotaping
00:36:25 stuff illegally when Manjini kind of ratted them out to the New York security.
00:36:29 Um, the next game that the Patriots had, they brought down these giant electric boxes on
00:36:34 the sidelines that were frequency readers to make sure that, that, uh, you didn't have
00:36:39 Ernie Adams talking to bill Belichick during the game.
00:36:42 They treated it like it was, it was like West Germany, East Germany in the middle of the
00:36:46 cold war at rules where they were checking into everything.
00:36:48 And then Belichick's explanation about the spygate stuff.
00:36:50 He's like, yeah, you know, I had a different interpretation of what the rules were.
00:36:53 And then they, they read the rules for him and he was like, yeah, well you can read it
00:36:57 one way.
00:36:58 We read it another way.
00:36:59 So there was, there was a lot of cheating going on.
00:37:00 The um, so I, you know, I, I'm not a doctor.
00:37:04 I just stayed at a holiday and last night I did not, I have not watched yet.
00:37:06 I'm going to watch it.
00:37:08 I did read a Jerry Thornton blog though.
00:37:10 And he was like, why was there so much time spent on drew Bledsoe and bill Parcells?
00:37:14 Right.
00:37:15 Yeah.
00:37:16 And it's like, yeah, that is weird that they would do that and not talk about winning the
00:37:19 super bowls, which my fear now since you know, it's called dynasty.
00:37:23 They just glossed over dynasty.
00:37:25 Part one is that they're going to gloss over dynasty part two and then talk about Belichick
00:37:29 and Brady for how many episodes are there?
00:37:31 10 so they can't.
00:37:33 So there's going to be a full episode on 28 to three, but they did a full episode leading
00:37:36 up to the, to what the hell is this?
00:37:39 Why do you put this on the same floor?
00:37:41 Yeah.
00:37:42 Okay.
00:37:43 People were watching on a, anywhere where we have it rumble YouTube.
00:37:51 I mean this is a great photo.
00:37:52 You have to be watching.
00:37:54 That is you right now.
00:37:55 Right now.
00:37:56 Hank Florio.
00:37:57 That is a curse.
00:37:58 That is a fucking nightmare.
00:38:01 You look like the shadiest lawyer of all time.
00:38:03 Hank Florio.
00:38:04 It's like, that's a weed.
00:38:05 That actually is going to give me nightmares.
00:38:08 That's a, that's a lawyer that specializes in like driving well stoned.
00:38:11 Who made that?
00:38:12 AI?
00:38:13 Shane.
00:38:14 Yeah.
00:38:15 Shane just made that.
00:38:16 Oh my God.
00:38:17 No, I hate memes made it.
00:38:18 Memes made it.
00:38:19 Memes.
00:38:20 Send that to all of us.
00:38:21 I need that.
00:38:22 Hank Florio.
00:38:23 Okay.
00:38:24 So by the way, Darren Revelle texted me back saying, I don't believe you.
00:38:25 I mean, he's, he's hip to us that I believe you that what, that I was gonna actually ask
00:38:30 him a question, not hang up on him, which he's right.
00:38:32 I would have hung up on him.
00:38:34 Maybe.
00:38:35 No, I definitely would have.
00:38:36 I would have said what, how many cocks have you looked at to try to carry the water for
00:38:41 Michael Rubin and then even like, uh, bang would have been great.
00:38:46 We'll get them again.
00:38:47 Uh, okay.
00:38:48 So Hank six and five Dante.
00:38:51 I tower.
00:38:52 Yep.
00:38:53 Tie law.
00:38:54 Okay.
00:38:55 So I'm going to go with the current guest.
00:38:58 Oh, I think it's friend of the program.
00:39:01 Great guy.
00:39:02 Jules gritty receiver basically fought through seven concussions against the Seahawks.
00:39:08 Chris made a miraculous catch against the Falcons.
00:39:11 Superbowl MVP against the Rams.
00:39:13 Wow.
00:39:14 Julian Edelman.
00:39:15 Wow.
00:39:16 Okay.
00:39:17 Four.
00:39:18 I think that's fair.
00:39:19 Okay.
00:39:20 There's going to be a lot on Julian in this documentary.
00:39:21 I think two feels like more, at least three.
00:39:25 Hank is nothing but honest with this and I feel like, yeah, Gronk is without Brady and
00:39:29 Gronk together.
00:39:30 I don't know if you get the second part of that dynasty.
00:39:32 Not Rushmore.
00:39:33 He is on the Mount Rushmore.
00:39:34 All right.
00:39:35 He deserves to be.
00:39:36 Who's your honorable mention this week?
00:39:38 Chris Long or today.
00:39:39 Oh, Chris Long.
00:39:40 He wasn't on it.
00:39:41 Oh, he wasn't.
00:39:42 All right.
00:39:43 He was on dishonorable mention.
00:39:44 Has anyone gone from dishonorable to honorable?
00:39:45 No.
00:39:46 Chris Long.
00:39:47 Hernandez should be dishonorable.
00:39:48 Yeah.
00:39:49 Yeah.
00:39:50 You should do it.
00:39:51 I think you should have pulled him out of the list.
00:39:52 Oh yeah.
00:39:53 You're right.
00:39:54 We still have 10 through eight.
00:39:55 It's eight to go.
00:39:56 Well, he was never actually convicted.
00:39:57 His conviction was vacated.
00:39:58 That's true.
00:39:59 In the eyes of the law, not a murderer.
00:40:00 Would be cool if he was number one.
00:40:01 Of himself.
00:40:02 And he just went purely on upside.
00:40:05 It was there.
00:40:07 Okay.
00:40:08 So Wednesday we'll get number three.
00:40:10 Who's defense?
00:40:11 Defense.
00:40:12 Who could it be on defense?
00:40:14 Wilfork.
00:40:15 Wilfork.
00:40:16 Yeah.
00:40:17 It's going to be Wilfork.
00:40:18 Or Bruschi.
00:40:19 Or Vrabel.
00:40:20 Or all white.
00:40:21 Top four.
00:40:22 Oh no.
00:40:23 Patriots who happen to be white.
00:40:27 Oh boy.
00:40:28 Okay, Hank.
00:40:29 You still have time to change.
00:40:30 Oh no, you can't change it.
00:40:31 All right.
00:40:32 Should we do who's back of the week and then we'll get to our interview?
00:40:38 Who's back of the week's brought to you by our friends at Coors Light from day to day
00:40:42 annoyances to the big stuff.
00:40:44 Life throws your way.
00:40:45 It's easy to get worked up, but there's a better way, a chiller way.
00:40:48 Turn that canceled concert into a parking lot dance party.
00:40:51 Too cold for an ocean swim.
00:40:53 Play volleyball and light a bonfire instead.

00:41:21 Thank you to Coors Light, one of our favorite sponsors.
00:41:23 Hank, you're who's back of the week.
00:41:25 Yeah, we're going to have a conversation about this big cat because I don't think this.
00:41:30 I was in New York for a long time.
00:41:32 Bad sports sound, shitty sports teams, bad fans.
00:41:35 I've really enjoyed my time in Chicago.
00:41:36 It is a great sports town.
00:41:38 You can feel the energy in town around these teams.
00:41:41 Okay, so excited.
00:41:42 Let me finish.
00:41:43 Let me finish.
00:41:44 He literally looked online and was like, I need something for who's back.
00:41:47 That's the last thing that happened.
00:41:49 No, this is a fair.
00:41:50 This is a bad sports town moment in my opinion.
00:41:53 Okay.
00:41:54 Patrick Kane, Red Wing, first game back against Chicago.
00:41:57 I was there.
00:41:58 You were there?
00:41:59 There were actually a lot of Red Wings fans there, a lot.
00:42:02 The first goal was very loud.
00:42:04 All right, so I took my son.
00:42:06 It was an incredible night.
00:42:07 I got a little misty eyed when they did the Kane video tribute.
00:42:11 It was Chelios, Jersey retirement.
00:42:13 I had to watch the Chelios, Jersey retirement at home because there was no chance I was
00:42:18 getting a four and a half year old to sit through all that.
00:42:21 We went to ice cream maybe eight minutes into the first period to try to prolong the staying
00:42:27 at the game.
00:42:28 The Kane moment was incredible.
00:42:30 It was like he's everything.
00:42:32 He's the best American hockey player.
00:42:33 He's fucking three cups.
00:42:35 He's just showtime, big moment after big moment.
00:42:38 I saw the overtime goal.
00:42:40 He scored an overtime goal and basically got a standing O.
00:42:42 Yeah, I mean, the Blackhawks are bad right now.
00:42:46 They're going for lottery balls.
00:42:47 I also think there were a lot of Red Wings fans there that people don't realize.
00:42:51 The first goal-
00:42:52 That might be a bad sports sound of its own?
00:42:53 Well, yeah, it could be.
00:42:55 The first goal-
00:42:56 Chelios retirement night?
00:42:57 The first goal, my son stood up and cheered, so he's actually a bad sports sound because
00:43:01 he was confused because other people were cheering.
00:43:03 He just heard the horn and was like, "This rocks."
00:43:05 Now, were they cheering for the goal?
00:43:06 Were they cheering for Patrick Kane or were they cheering for the draft pick?
00:43:10 Both, all three.
00:43:12 I mean, Patrick Kane is like, "Yeah, I get it.
00:43:15 Sure."
00:43:16 They're really bad.
00:43:17 They're the worst team in the NHL.
00:43:18 Patrick Kane is the best.
00:43:20 He had double standing ovation.
00:43:22 He went out, saluted-
00:43:24 That's all fair.
00:43:25 Then went back.
00:43:26 He deserves all the standing ovation.
00:43:27 Then there's a go back out.
00:43:28 You know what we should do, Pat?
00:43:29 Once the game starts, it's like that's where it's like you got to, you know, that happens
00:43:31 in other teams.
00:43:32 But a lot of, we're tanking.
00:43:33 They come back and they give him the standing O and then once the game starts, they start
00:43:36 booing.
00:43:37 Well, we're tanking.
00:43:38 Oh, there was a lot of Detroit sucks chants going.
00:43:40 What we should do is how Hank's doing, like the top 10 Patriots, like the dynasty in his
00:43:44 eyes.
00:43:45 We should do our list of top 10 guys that played for a shitty team in your town that
00:43:49 you rooted for the hardest when they left.
00:43:51 Yeah, I still root for Patrick Kane.
00:43:52 Not as much now on the Red Wings.
00:43:53 I did last year for the Rangers.
00:43:55 Yeah, okay.
00:43:56 Bad sports town.
00:43:57 That's fine.
00:43:58 I mean, Patrick Kane is like, he's the best.
00:44:00 I don't disagree.
00:44:01 He's going to get his jersey retired.
00:44:02 I just think, you know, once the game starts, you want to win the game.
00:44:04 They're so bad though, Hank.
00:44:05 But they had a chance to win.
00:44:06 And they don't want to win.
00:44:07 They don't want to win.
00:44:08 I guess.
00:44:09 I guess.
00:44:10 I guess.
00:44:11 I guess.
00:44:12 It was.
00:44:13 It's embraced debate.
00:44:14 Give me something.
00:44:15 It's tank for Celebrini.
00:44:16 Give me something.
00:44:17 Something.
00:44:18 I need some.
00:44:19 Suck weenie for Celebrini.
00:44:20 Suck weenie for Celebrini.
00:44:21 That's what we've been doing all year, idiot.
00:44:22 Suck weenie for Celebrini.
00:44:23 It's a very popular hashtag.
00:44:24 Yeah.
00:44:25 Dummy.
00:44:26 It was an incredible night though.
00:44:28 And we also have box of the year nominee.
00:44:30 So I was lucky enough to, my son is going to be very jaded because he was able to take
00:44:38 a picture with Wayne Gretzky tonight, which is crazy.
00:44:40 His first hockey game ever.
00:44:42 But there was a box at the game that was Wayne Gretzky, Mark Messier, John McEnroe.
00:44:47 I was only in there for like two seconds, but Wayne, Wayne Gretzky, John McEnroe, Mark
00:44:52 Messier, Kid Rock, Theo Epstein, Cindy Crawford.
00:44:56 It might've been box of the year.
00:44:57 It would have been Jordan too if he was supposed to be there.
00:44:59 Yeah.
00:45:00 And Jordan also released a very funny video on a golf course and he started with, they
00:45:05 played it on the Jumbotron at the United Center and he just started with, "Hi, I'm Michael
00:45:10 Jordan."
00:45:11 It's like, okay.
00:45:12 We know.
00:45:13 We know.
00:45:14 We know, dude.
00:45:15 God, I would have been so starstruck by Kid Rock.
00:45:16 Oh, that means Kid Rock's definitely getting fucked up in town tonight somewhere.
00:45:20 My wife was like, "How long were you in there?"
00:45:22 I was like, "We actually were only in there for like 90 seconds because I got the picture
00:45:25 with Wayne Gretzky, said hello, but we had to leave because my son was like, Kid Rock,
00:45:30 I think he was smoking five cigars at the same time."
00:45:32 I love that.
00:45:33 It was so fucking smoky there.
00:45:35 My son was like, "I want to go home."
00:45:37 So yeah, my son's a bad sports star.
00:45:40 He also, kind of a tough moment for me when I bought $200 worth of 50/50 raffle tickets.
00:45:46 He's like, "What do we win?"
00:45:47 I was like, "No, that's not how it works."
00:45:50 You win the ability to-
00:45:51 To try to get the even.
00:45:52 That's it.
00:45:53 Yeah, if we win this, we haven't won.
00:45:57 But okay, I understand your sentiment.
00:45:59 You just completely forgot Saquini for celebrating.
00:46:02 Yeah, I think at some level, if you're in the game in overtime-
00:46:05 Patrick Kane is so good, man.
00:46:07 I fucking love that guy so much.
00:46:09 I love him.
00:46:10 I got misty-eyed.
00:46:11 That was my who's back was sports feelings because I was literally sitting there being
00:46:14 like, "God damn it, he rocked so hard."
00:46:16 And it was like having a guy play for your team and being like, "That guy, whenever you
00:46:22 need a big moment, he always delivers."
00:46:25 There's just no better feeling as a sports fan.
00:46:27 I hope to experience it one day.
00:46:28 It's like, "That guy will always show up when you need him to show up."
00:46:32 Jules.
00:46:33 Yeah, you're number four patriot.
00:46:34 Okay, PFT.
00:46:35 My who's back is Flacco the Owl.
00:46:38 Yes.
00:46:39 RIP, kind of back, maybe not so really back.
00:46:41 Dead.
00:46:42 Flacco the Owl-
00:46:43 Died.
00:46:44 RIP, unfortunately, flew into a building in New York.
00:46:46 So if Sean McDermott needs a new preseason pump up speech for the Bills, I think he'll
00:46:50 just do a graphic on Flacco.
00:46:53 So he's been capturing the hearts and minds of New Yorkers for the last two years.
00:46:58 He's a Spanish owl and, excuse me, Eurasian.
00:47:01 Eurasian, yeah.
00:47:02 Eurasian Eagle Owl.
00:47:03 So he's an immigrant.
00:47:04 Yeah, he's an immigrant and he escaped the Central Park Zoo in New York when somebody
00:47:08 cut his netting in February 2023.
00:47:11 And then he just chilled in Central Park like a mascot, flying around, dining on the biggest,
00:47:16 fattest, dirtiest rats in the world.
00:47:18 Is there a chance ... How did he die?
00:47:20 Did he leave a suicide note?
00:47:21 How did he die?
00:47:22 Yeah, because it feels like maybe he just was sick of all these New Yorkers taking pictures
00:47:26 of him.
00:47:27 I believe he flew into a building.
00:47:28 Yeah, he flew into a building.
00:47:30 Idiot.
00:47:31 Yeah.
00:47:32 It's a building, dude.
00:47:33 So they said that there was a substantial hemorrhage under the sternum and in the back
00:47:37 of the eye.
00:47:38 Oh, they did an autopsy on this fucker?
00:47:39 Yeah.
00:47:40 It's a fucking owl.
00:47:41 Yeah, so he flew into the side of an Upper West Side building.
00:47:43 Imagine being the window washer and you did a great job and you're really proud and then
00:47:48 you rappel down to the next floor and then Flacco, the most beloved owl in the world.
00:47:52 I bet you that apartment's probably going to go above asking now.
00:47:54 You think so?
00:47:55 Yeah, this is where Flacco ...
00:47:56 What if it crashed through the window?
00:47:58 What if it broke the window?
00:47:59 Yeah.
00:48:00 Most famous New York death, John Lennon, Flacco the owl.
00:48:02 Yeah, so RIP Flacco.
00:48:04 I know everybody was really sad on Saturday morning.
00:48:07 So I don't want to piss off the Flacco the owl people.
00:48:12 Very sad.
00:48:13 I do love animals.
00:48:15 Some of the reactions were a little crazy.
00:48:17 Yeah.
00:48:18 So I saw this one and I couldn't tell if it was satire, but it definitely wasn't, but
00:48:25 it was great satire if it was.
00:48:28 This person said, "Late last night I saw the news that Flacco had passed away from a building
00:48:33 collision.
00:48:34 It seriously felt like I collided into a wall myself.
00:48:38 Just completely stunned to read those words.
00:48:40 What an unfortunate tragedy.
00:48:42 RIP Flacco.
00:48:43 We'll miss you."
00:48:45 Is it really a tragedy when an animal dies?
00:48:48 Like a wild animal?
00:48:50 Harambe again.
00:48:51 I guess.
00:48:52 Yeah, I guess.
00:48:53 That's still the lion.
00:48:54 I just never was a Flacco guy, so it's like, I don't know.
00:48:58 People love this.
00:48:59 People love this fucking owl.
00:49:00 There was a vigil.
00:49:01 I'm not going to hate on people because people should enjoy.
00:49:04 I'm a big believer in people enjoy whatever they want to enjoy, but saying it felt like
00:49:07 I collided into a building too?
00:49:09 Yeah, it's a little bit much.
00:49:11 Yeah, that was heavy.
00:49:13 That was heavy.
00:49:14 So apparently he didn't break any bones.
00:49:15 This actually, something's up.
00:49:17 Oh, is it Epstein?
00:49:19 It says he didn't break any bones, but he sustained massive hemorrhaging inside his
00:49:24 body.
00:49:26 This seems like somebody else had a hand in it.
00:49:28 We need to check the flight logs.
00:49:30 Where's Hillary?
00:49:31 Yeah.
00:49:32 Where's she been at?
00:49:33 Was Flacco on the list?
00:49:34 She'd been somewhere in the woods, walking around.
00:49:37 This owl probably had information that would have led to the arrest and subsequent conviction
00:49:41 of Hillary Clinton.
00:49:42 Yeah.
00:49:43 Interesting.
00:49:44 I think Bill, late at night, Hillary's just like, "So what have you been doing?"
00:49:50 Maybe.
00:49:51 There's got to be an awkward silence at some point where you're just like, "So yeah, that
00:49:56 time you said you were going on a business trip, where was that?"
00:50:00 Yeah, or, "Why did you have to put a cigar in an intern's vagina, Bill?"
00:50:04 There's got to be some really awkward moments in their marriage where they're just sitting
00:50:10 there, "Yeah, nevermind.
00:50:14 I don't want to talk about it."
00:50:15 No, we don't need to get into it because I like doing the show and I hope none of us
00:50:18 gets killed.
00:50:19 Oh no, I was saying that's what they would say, "Nevermind, I don't want to talk about
00:50:22 it."
00:50:23 Yeah, probably because Bill doesn't want to get killed.
00:50:24 Yeah.
00:50:25 So I feel like ... Well, there was a hilarious Valentine's Day post from Hillary to Bill
00:50:28 the other day.
00:50:29 It was just like, "My Valentine after all these years," and they're smiling at each
00:50:31 other.
00:50:32 There's no chance they love each other, right?
00:50:34 It's a work relationship.
00:50:35 Zero percent chance that they're in love with each other.
00:50:38 But yeah, Flacco.
00:50:39 Justice for Flacco.
00:50:41 I'll stand with the people who ... Listen, it's ...
00:50:44 It seems fishy, the fact that he died by flying into a window and didn't break a single bone.
00:50:49 Yeah, and there's a lot of people in New York City and there's a lot of people who they
00:50:52 need to find an owl to be their life.
00:50:57 So I understand it.
00:50:58 It's no different than our sports teams.
00:51:00 Or Harambe.
00:51:01 Or Harambe.
00:51:02 Yeah.
00:51:03 Yeah.
00:51:04 But that was ... A little satire.
00:51:05 A little satire.
00:51:06 Yeah, a little satire.
00:51:08 And shot.
00:51:09 He was murdered.
00:51:10 Wait, what?
00:51:11 What?
00:51:12 Harambe was murdered.
00:51:13 There's no question about it.
00:51:14 Cold blood.
00:51:15 A gorilla.
00:51:16 A gorilla.
00:51:17 I feel like this owl, this OWL, got murdered too.
00:51:20 I'm going to look into it.
00:51:21 All right, my who's back, good who's back, my who's back is Cam Newton.
00:51:24 Yeah, big time.
00:51:25 Because holy shit, don't fuck with Cam Newton.
00:51:28 He was at ... I think it was a seven on seven tournament he was throwing, and there was
00:51:34 a fight video that got released, and Cam Newton somehow fought off ... Well, I guess not somehow,
00:51:40 because he's a fucking monster and a beast of a human.
00:51:44 He fought off three guys with his hat never being touched.
00:51:47 The hat never got knocked off.
00:51:49 The hat, it had the tassels on it.
00:51:51 It remained perfect.
00:51:53 It should count as you knocking Cam Newton out if you knock his hat off.
00:51:56 Yeah.
00:51:57 That's the rule.
00:51:58 Dak Prescott could never, by the way.
00:51:59 I would like to see next rough and rowdy, Logan Paul versus Cam Newton.
00:52:03 No punches, just try to steal his hat.
00:52:04 Cam Newton beat the fuck out of him.
00:52:06 No punches.
00:52:07 Just try to get the hat?
00:52:08 Just try to get the hat.
00:52:09 That's the rule.
00:52:10 It was ... There was one moment where he had a guy in a choke hold, and then was just ragdolling
00:52:16 another guy with his other arm.
00:52:18 It's just awesome to see ... I don't know how this all started, but-
00:52:24 They're probably talking shit about the hat.
00:52:25 Yeah, and these guys being like, "Yeah, three on one.
00:52:27 We can get Cam Newton."
00:52:28 And Cam Newton just being like, "No, you can't."
00:52:30 Yeah, Cam Newton's first ballot, "Don't fuck with me, guy."
00:52:33 You would think too, if you were trying to fight Cam Newton, you'd be like ... You'd
00:52:37 just have a quick second where you'd say, "Oh yeah, he used to do this to NFL linebackers.
00:52:44 Run them over, make them look like little boys, little boy ass play.
00:52:49 Why would we try to fight Cam Newton?"
00:52:50 Yeah, a lot of people are saying this might hurt any aspirations he has of a comeback.
00:52:54 I think it helps it.
00:52:55 I think it helps it a lot.
00:52:56 He didn't make any business decisions during this fight.
00:52:59 Those three guys are just idiots for picking on Cam Newton.
00:53:01 Morons.
00:53:02 Morons.
00:53:03 Cam Newton was like 6'5", 6'6", probably 250 pounds.
00:53:06 Don't fuck with Cam Newton.
00:53:07 Yeah, he's a shit brick house.
00:53:10 Yeah.
00:53:11 Has he put out a statement on it with a weird font?
00:53:15 I don't know, maybe that was a fight over the font.
00:53:16 It might have been.
00:53:17 That would have been funny.
00:53:18 Yeah.
00:53:19 By the way, so we were talking about Flacco the owl.
00:53:21 There's been another animal that we've discussed on this show recently, the pregnant stingray,
00:53:25 Charlotte.
00:53:26 Oh yes, yeah, the dude in that ... Where is it?
00:53:29 It's in North Carolina, Hendersonville maybe.
00:53:32 Okay.
00:53:33 Yeah, the dude who works there being very nervous.
00:53:35 So Charlotte the pregnant stingray has still not given birth, which makes me think this
00:53:42 might be a publicity stunt.
00:53:44 Or RG3.
00:53:45 Exactly, like is she really pregnant?
00:53:48 And there was a great-
00:53:49 She could be body shaming.
00:53:50 Yeah, she might just be fat.
00:53:52 She might have just gotten fat.
00:53:54 So-
00:53:55 She's going through menopause.
00:53:56 Back off.
00:53:57 Add this to the list of great black sports headlines of all time.
00:54:00 No, no, no, it's sports online who happens to be black.
00:54:03 Sports on if a shark had relations with a female stingray who is pregnant even though
00:54:07 she hasn't seen a male stingray in eight years, video.
00:54:11 That's a great headline.
00:54:12 Shout out Robert Little.
00:54:13 Yep.
00:54:14 Oh gee, he's been on the internet for a long time.
00:54:15 One of the best ever headlines.
00:54:17 Yeah.
00:54:18 Yeah, we need a conclusion to this.
00:54:20 Otherwise she's just fat.
00:54:22 She might just be fat.
00:54:23 She's fat.
00:54:24 Okay, Jake, finish us off.
00:54:26 My who's back of the week is this league.
00:54:28 We had a brawl on Friday night-
00:54:29 Oh yeah.
00:54:30 Between the Elite and the Pelicans and it was exciting.
00:54:34 Yeah.
00:54:35 A lot of suspensions, Jimmy Butler.
00:54:36 Wait, I thought you were pro safety.
00:54:37 Oh, interesting.
00:54:38 Hypocrite, but it sounds like-
00:54:39 No one got hurt.
00:54:40 No one got hurt.
00:54:41 No one got hurt.
00:54:42 Someone could have gotten hurt.
00:54:43 Yeah, could have.
00:54:44 I wouldn't have the same tone.
00:54:45 Yeah, I don't think you can celebrate this brawl.
00:54:48 T culture there, right Jake?
00:54:49 Yeah, he culture.
00:54:50 Fight everyone, trip people.
00:54:51 No.
00:54:52 Trip people.
00:54:53 Not a lot.
00:54:54 I'm excited for Celtics Hank to be back.
00:54:57 You're going to hear it in a minute, but yeah.
00:54:59 Yeah.
00:55:00 They're really good.
00:55:01 But yeah, it was exciting.
00:55:02 Jimmy Butler said it's that time of year.
00:55:03 He's starting to lock in.
00:55:04 Since I put the heat on the hot seat on the show a month ago, they're seven and two.
00:55:07 Good job, Jake.
00:55:08 So, starting to lock in and yeah, it was a crazy brawl.
00:55:12 Crazy brawl.
00:55:13 Yeah, there was a couple.
00:55:14 Wasn't there another brawl too?
00:55:15 The Fires Rangers fight rocked.
00:55:17 Oh yeah, that was incredible.
00:55:19 That fight was so sick.
00:55:20 Hockey fights are just the best.
00:55:22 There was a Warriors Hornets brawl.
00:55:25 That's right.
00:55:26 And then afterwards, J-Mo Green was like, "McHale Bridgers can do no wrong."
00:55:29 Whoops.
00:55:30 Whoops.
00:55:31 Whoops.
00:55:32 Just because...
00:55:33 Miles Bridges.
00:55:34 Miles Bridges.
00:55:35 Miles Bridges.
00:55:36 Miles Bridges.
00:55:37 The Cal Bridges, great guy.
00:55:38 Nova.
00:55:39 But yeah, just because they're from Michigan State, Michigan guys.
00:55:40 Yeah.
00:55:41 Also, bonus, who's back?
00:55:42 The Barstool Combine.
00:55:43 Yep.
00:55:44 Yes.
00:55:45 Today, 11 a.m.
00:55:46 Eastern Time on all platforms.
00:55:47 Tune in.
00:55:48 I'm just...
00:55:49 Going to be live.
00:55:50 I am solely just trying not to get hurt.
00:55:53 That's my only goal.
00:55:54 Yeah, I'm not going to win.
00:55:55 I'm not going to come in last.
00:55:56 I know I'm not going to win, but I just can't get hurt because I can't...
00:56:00 Knock on wood.
00:56:01 I just want to...
00:56:02 I feel an injury coming and I'm very nervous about it.
00:56:04 I want to get out of here with both Achilles tendons intact.
00:56:08 And there's been some steps that I've taken recently where I'm like, "I feel like the
00:56:11 Achilles is about to go."
00:56:12 Yeah.
00:56:13 My back, I woke up and my back was all tight and I'm like, "Oh no, Combine."
00:56:18 Don't get hurt.
00:56:19 Don't get hurt.
00:56:20 I'm knocking on wood.
00:56:21 Don't get hurt.
00:56:22 Famous last words.
00:56:23 And how is Max not competing?
00:56:25 He's a producer.
00:56:27 Can we get him in?
00:56:28 I'm producer.
00:56:29 Can we get him in?
00:56:30 I'm producer.
00:56:31 You know that he needs...
00:56:32 People want to see him compete.
00:56:33 No, no, no.
00:56:34 Come on.
00:56:35 Can we still...
00:56:36 Do we still have time?
00:56:37 No, we have no more time.
00:56:38 At least do the vertical.
00:56:39 Ow!
00:56:40 My back.
00:56:41 Maybe during the...
00:56:42 Oh shit.
00:56:43 I think I'm out.
00:56:44 I'm out.
00:56:45 I'm out.
00:56:46 I'm out.
00:56:47 I need a replacement.
00:56:48 Can anyone replace me?
00:56:49 No, come on.
00:56:50 I'm not in this.
00:56:51 He'll have to run it at some point.
00:56:52 Maybe during the YAC.
00:56:53 Okay.
00:56:54 Fine.
00:56:55 That's fine.
00:56:56 I just need to see him compete.
00:56:57 I don't think I can make it in tomorrow.
00:56:59 Oh, okay.
00:57:00 All right.
00:57:01 Darren Revelle is calling me back.
00:57:02 Should I pick up?
00:57:03 Yes.
00:57:04 All right.
00:57:05 Darren.
00:57:06 Yes.
00:57:07 Darren, you're live on Pardon My Take.
00:57:11 We had a question for you as our reporter, our eSports reporter slash...
00:57:17 What is he?
00:57:18 Groin specialist.
00:57:19 Groin specialist.
00:57:20 How many penises did you go back and look at to find those Reds penises when you posted
00:57:23 that?
00:57:24 About four.
00:57:25 Okay.
00:57:26 Okay.
00:57:27 Four penises.
00:57:28 All right.
00:57:29 The Mount Rushmore of baseball dogs.
00:57:31 Yeah.
00:57:32 Yeah.
00:57:33 That was Darren Revelle, eSports reporter and penis expert.

00:58:47 Now here's Derek White and Peyton Pritchard.
00:58:50 Okay, we now welcome on two very special guests from the Boston Celtics.
00:58:55 It is Derek White and Peyton Pritchard.
00:58:58 First of all, thank you guys for coming by.
00:59:00 And Derek, I've met you before and I'm happy that you're here right now because you contributed
00:59:06 to a very embarrassing moment for me.
00:59:08 I don't know if you even remember it, but it was surviving barstool and I got eliminated
00:59:12 in the first day.
00:59:13 So I was staying at a hotel and the Celtics were playing, I think you guys were preseason?
00:59:17 Yeah, we've been in the Knicks in the preseason.
00:59:19 Yeah, and we got in the elevator together and I was like, "I have a podcast and my producer's
00:59:25 a huge Celtics fan."
00:59:26 And you just go, "Yeah, I know."
00:59:27 And I was like, "Fuck, I feel like such an asshole."
00:59:29 So I think, should we credit Blake Griffin for getting you guys to listen to PMT?
00:59:34 Is that who we need to credit?
00:59:35 Actually, my guy, Paul over here.
00:59:37 Okay.
00:59:38 He was the one that sent it to me first and he's like, "You got to watch the fastest two
00:59:41 minutes."
00:59:42 And so I used to watch that and then I was like, "Let me just keep watching, see what's
00:59:46 going on."
00:59:47 And he's been a fan since.
00:59:48 Love that.
00:59:49 Respect.
00:59:50 That's awesome.
00:59:51 So you're aware of Hank and his Celtics fandom?
00:59:53 Yeah.
00:59:54 Yeah.
00:59:55 So I knew all that.
00:59:56 I mean, big cat guy in the elevator, but he had headphones in, so I'm like, "I don't know
00:59:59 if I should say something."
01:00:00 Yeah, I was thinking the same thing.
01:00:01 We kind of stood in opposite corners of the elevator, kind of just looking at each other.
01:00:06 I was like, "Yeah, I'm a big fan, but I don't know what to say."
01:00:10 It was like, "I'm a big fan, but I don't know what to say."
01:00:12 When you see Hank on the sidelines with his feet on the wood, like sitting court side,
01:00:16 are you like, "I got to show out tonight because Hank's here?"
01:00:18 It's like when guys see Drake on the sidelines.
01:00:19 Yeah, you always want to show off for Hank.
01:00:21 Yeah.
01:00:22 Do you guys know, when you guys were in the finals, did you see Hank almost take a...
01:00:26 Was that in the finals when he pump shot?
01:00:28 He did a pump fake with the ball.
01:00:30 The ball rolled to him in the middle of the finals, and he pump faked and had the whole
01:00:34 crowd going crazy.
01:00:35 What game was that?
01:00:37 What game was that?
01:00:38 Game four or five.
01:00:39 Four, yeah.
01:00:40 Yeah.
01:00:41 Yeah.
01:00:42 It was a nice pump fake.
01:00:43 He did the mellow.
01:00:44 Yeah.
01:00:45 It would have gone in too.
01:00:46 It sounds like you guys don't really know the vibes that Hank's bringing to the court.
01:00:47 I didn't see that one.
01:00:48 Yeah.
01:00:49 We lost that game, so I don't know if it helped or hurt us.
01:00:51 Yeah, that's...
01:00:52 Probably hurt.
01:00:53 Yeah.
01:00:54 If he shot it and went in, that would have helped.
01:00:55 Probably would have helped.
01:00:56 There's no chance he got the win.
01:00:57 Yeah, sure.
01:00:58 Should have shot it.
01:00:59 Yeah.
01:01:00 I want to talk to you guys about something that is, I guess, everyone's talking about
01:01:01 right now after the All-Star game.
01:01:02 It was not really a game as much as it was a lot of offense.
01:01:05 We've figured out some ways where we can fix it.
01:01:07 Most of them are stupid as shit and probably won't work.
01:01:09 Your guys had, like, is there a way that you can fix the All-Star game?
01:01:12 Because I do have one suggestion to add to it, but I want to hear you guys go first.
01:01:16 Also, Derek, you should have been an All-Star.
01:01:17 Facts.
01:01:18 Yeah, yeah.
01:01:19 I appreciate it.
01:01:20 Yeah.
01:01:21 That would have fixed the All-Star game.
01:01:22 Yeah, that would have fixed the All-Star game.
01:01:23 You would have tried hard.
01:01:24 Simple as that.
01:01:25 Yeah.
01:01:26 Yeah.
01:01:27 So what's the fix, Peyton?
01:01:28 Do you think there is a fix or is it just guys don't want to get injured?
01:01:31 Putting money up for the winning team?
01:01:33 Yeah.
01:01:34 Yeah.
01:01:35 Well, my idea was that the losing team had to pay the winning team because then it's
01:01:38 money both ways.
01:01:40 Because then guys would actually be upset if they lost, like, they have to pay, like,
01:01:43 someone has to go and pay LeBron $500,000.
01:01:46 Yeah.
01:01:47 So what amount per person?
01:01:48 I think it's 500 each.
01:01:49 Yeah.
01:01:50 Yeah.
01:01:51 It's got to be something big.
01:01:52 Yeah.
01:01:53 It would also be very funny if Adam Silver was like, "You guys stay out of the gambling
01:01:56 app.
01:01:57 Stay out of casinos.
01:01:58 Also, if you're an All-Star, you're forced to bet the other guy $500,000 to make our
01:02:01 game better."
01:02:02 Yeah.
01:02:03 My suggestion would be that the winning team, everybody on that roster for the winning team
01:02:07 gets like 10 tags from the NBA's main account on Instagram for the rest of the year, along
01:02:13 with a link that will allow people to slide into your DMs more easily.
01:02:18 Like highlight reels.
01:02:19 You get like 10 highlight reels for the rest of the year.
01:02:21 That's pretty good.
01:02:22 What do you think about that?
01:02:23 Just for the winning team?
01:02:24 Just for the winning team.
01:02:25 Yeah.
01:02:26 Losing team gets low light reels posted.
01:02:28 Every missed shot.
01:02:29 Yeah.
01:02:30 Whatever it takes to make it entertaining.
01:02:31 I was thinking too, losing team can't tie their shoes for the rest of the season.
01:02:34 You guys think, I mean, that would probably be an injury waiting to happen.
01:02:36 I don't like that idea.
01:02:37 As long as we win.
01:02:38 Yeah, yeah.
01:02:39 We're fine with that.
01:02:40 So we got the video right there.
01:02:41 That's Hank on the sidelines.
01:02:42 It's on this monitor right here.
01:02:44 If you want to lean forward.
01:02:45 Yeah.
01:02:46 I hate that because that was actually off of my turnover.
01:02:47 Oh no.
01:02:48 It's okay that I remember that.
01:02:49 You almost got an assist.
01:02:50 You're like, "Who's that fucking guy?"
01:02:51 Oh man.
01:02:52 That's very funny.
01:02:53 If you shot it and you made it, like in Steph's face, that would have went crazy.
01:03:01 The crowd would have went nuts.
01:03:03 They can't kick you out if you make it, right?
01:03:05 No.
01:03:06 Cannot.
01:03:07 If you air ball, they kick you right out.
01:03:08 Yeah, 100%.
01:03:09 That makes sense.
01:03:10 Yeah.
01:03:11 So the other question I had to just start about the NBA right now, the thing that people
01:03:14 talk about a lot is the scoring is crazy right now.
01:03:17 From your guys' perspective, because you've been in the league for a little bit and you
01:03:21 obviously have been playing basketball your whole life, is it a problem or is it just
01:03:25 everyone's so skilled that it's like we're trying on defense but guys are just so goddamn
01:03:30 good?
01:03:31 I think a little bit of both.
01:03:33 I mean, especially as it goes on in the playoffs, you'll see more defense, more intensity on
01:03:39 both sides.
01:03:40 Especially in the playoffs, there is defense, but there's just so much space now and you're
01:03:45 giving these star players so much room with four shooters around them.
01:03:49 It's really hard to stop them or slow them down, especially when they get in the rhythm.
01:03:53 So it's just with the space and everything, the rules, the way they are, it's kind of
01:03:57 impossible.
01:03:58 But I mean, once the playoff starts and it gets a little bit more physical, it'll definitely
01:04:02 slow down and that's really a different ball game.
01:04:06 Yeah.
01:04:07 Did you guys notice it right when you got to the NBA?
01:04:08 Like Peyton, you played Oregon and then you get to the NBA and it's like, wait, everyone
01:04:11 can make shots everywhere?
01:04:13 Because it does feel like the NBA is like every guy on the bench can make shots.
01:04:16 For sure.
01:04:17 I kind of noticed it in college.
01:04:18 I don't know if you noticed it, but you turn the ball over in the NBA, it's almost like
01:04:24 a guarantee three ball to the rim.
01:04:28 In college, people can miss.
01:04:30 You also have like two or three people in college you can help off of.
01:04:34 And you also have this no three seconds in the key.
01:04:38 You got a big that's just sitting there.
01:04:40 So I think it's way harder scoring college than it is in the NBA.
01:04:43 But it's just the different rules as far as that.
01:04:45 Yeah.
01:04:46 And college refs also are terrible refs.
01:04:49 That's a fact.
01:04:50 They just call charges everywhere.
01:04:51 Yeah.
01:04:52 They're just addicted to calling charges.
01:04:53 Yeah.
01:04:54 You can say it now, like you're not in college.
01:04:55 You can say, yeah, college refs, Pac-12 refs, pretty bad.
01:04:57 Yeah.
01:04:58 And that's why they got rid of the league.
01:04:59 It worked out well for us.
01:05:00 We won a lot.
01:05:01 So I didn't complain.
01:05:02 There you go.
01:05:03 Yeah.
01:05:04 You're a big 10 guy now.
01:05:05 Yeah.
01:05:06 Yeah.
01:05:07 I mean, that's real basketball.
01:05:08 We're playing in the 50s.
01:05:09 So you got to be ready for that.
01:05:12 My Oregon question is, you had to hate that court, right?
01:05:15 I mean, it's hard.
01:05:16 I didn't actually notice it.
01:05:17 On TV?
01:05:18 Yeah.
01:05:19 On TV, it looks weird, but you never notice it playing.
01:05:22 But I didn't mind it.
01:05:25 Because you played at Colorado your last year, Derek.
01:05:27 Did you notice it when you get there?
01:05:28 You'd be like, what is going on here?
01:05:30 You don't really notice it that much.
01:05:31 But when we had to shoot around, I was like, what are we doing?
01:05:34 It looks dirty.
01:05:35 Yeah.
01:05:36 It looks like somebody spilled something on it.
01:05:37 It looks horrible on TV.
01:05:38 Yeah.
01:05:39 It looks horrible on TV.
01:05:40 I do like it when it's like 10 PM and you got Bill Walton calling a game, and it does
01:05:44 feel like you're taking acid with him.
01:05:47 And you're like, OK, this makes sense.
01:05:48 But when it's like a primetime game, you're like, I don't want to watch this.
01:05:51 What's going on?
01:05:52 That's true.
01:05:53 Yeah.
01:05:54 Derek, when you went to Colorado, did altitude affect your shot at all?
01:05:57 Because I'm always thinking about altitude in terms of football, right?
01:06:00 You always talk about the altitude games going to Denver.
01:06:03 But it's got to make a difference in basketball, right?
01:06:06 I don't know about the shot.
01:06:08 I mean, I'm from Colorado, so I never really knew the difference.
01:06:10 But when people would come in and they can't breathe, that definitely is real.
01:06:14 But I don't know if it really affects the shot.
01:06:18 Maybe.
01:06:19 I don't know.
01:06:20 I never really thought about that.
01:06:21 The less wind resistance.
01:06:22 Yeah, just a little bit.
01:06:23 For a guy like me, I'm money down at sea level.
01:06:25 You see that.
01:06:26 But if I go to Colorado, I might be able to dunk.
01:06:27 You might be better.
01:06:28 Good point, Peyton.
01:06:29 So we've got a member of the podcast, Hank, that thinks he's going to be able to dunk
01:06:35 by the end of the year, the calendar year.
01:06:37 He's about five inches away from the rim right now.
01:06:39 And he's just going to train like hell, just work out the legs, build up some beef in the
01:06:43 quads and the hamstrings.
01:06:45 And so I guess you've got to get, what, like eight inches above the rim to be able to dunk?
01:06:48 You think he can do it?
01:06:49 How old were you guys when you first dunked?
01:06:51 Good question.
01:06:53 I was like, probably like 16, 15.
01:06:58 15, 16.
01:06:59 And what changed where you couldn't dunk before and then what did you work on to be able to?
01:07:03 I think the answer is genetics.
01:07:04 I just got above the rim.
01:07:06 Oh, sorry.
01:07:07 Yeah, that's it.
01:07:08 Pretty much it.
01:07:09 Yeah.
01:07:10 I got to ask about the hat too.
01:07:13 Save the bees.
01:07:15 I just saw the hat in my house.
01:07:16 I like the colorway.
01:07:17 It fit the outfit at the time, so I just went with it.
01:07:20 Okay, you're not a bee guy?
01:07:21 Nah, I don't even know what the hat's for.
01:07:24 Perfect hat.
01:07:26 Fuck them bees.
01:07:27 Yeah.
01:07:28 All right, I got a tough question.
01:07:29 On a scale of one to 10, how awkward is it Coach Mazzullo's obsession with the movie
01:07:33 "The Town"?
01:07:35 How often does he bring it up?
01:07:37 He doesn't really bring it up with us that often.
01:07:40 Okay.
01:07:41 But I think it's a media thing.
01:07:42 Yeah.
01:07:43 He never is like, this is like, you're going into like a game seven, you're like, "We're
01:07:46 robbing a bank, boys.
01:07:47 It's no big deal.
01:07:48 We've done this a million times."
01:07:49 We've only seen one clip.
01:07:50 We've only seen one clip of it one time.
01:07:52 Whose car we taking?
01:07:53 No.
01:07:54 No, that is his favorite line though.
01:07:55 Yeah.
01:07:56 It was the note.
01:07:57 Yeah, the note, the car.
01:07:58 They left the note on the car.
01:08:00 Yeah.
01:08:01 Yeah, other than that, he doesn't really ... He does wear that shirt a lot, "Whose car we
01:08:05 taking?"
01:08:06 Yeah.
01:08:07 Yeah, it's definitely his favorite show or movie, but-
01:08:08 Yeah, it is-
01:08:09 You don't hear about it as much as the media.
01:08:10 It is probably a media obsession, because the other one was that he does ... What does
01:08:14 he do?
01:08:15 Taekwondo?
01:08:16 No, Jiu-Jitsu.
01:08:17 Yeah.
01:08:18 He got choked out.
01:08:19 Or he was trying to get the guy out.
01:08:20 Yeah.
01:08:21 Yeah.
01:08:22 Yeah.
01:08:23 I think there was a story about how he got ... The story about his Jiu-Jitsu coach flying
01:08:26 out every time that he needed him was nuts.
01:08:29 But I guess, I mean, he's a tough coach.
01:08:32 When you guys ... When he took over the job, were you like, "This guy's played.
01:08:36 He's a tough coach."
01:08:37 Do you like playing for a guy like that?
01:08:39 I mean, he definitely expects ... I enjoy it, because he expects you to play hard.
01:08:47 Sometimes I feel like in coaches in the NBA, they get in the NBA mode of the season's long
01:08:52 and stuff.
01:08:53 He doesn't really care, back to back or anything.
01:08:55 He's trying to win every game.
01:08:57 You can feel his passion towards it.
01:08:59 I really respect that out of him.
01:09:01 Yeah.
01:09:02 Was there a moment for each of you guys where you realized that you could play in the league?
01:09:06 Where we could?
01:09:07 Yeah.
01:09:08 Yeah.
01:09:09 Growing up?
01:09:10 No.
01:09:11 After you get drafted, right?
01:09:12 After you enter the NBA, I assume that everything's a little bit new.
01:09:15 There's some uncertainty there, right?
01:09:16 Because you haven't played against this level of competition yet.
01:09:19 Maybe in the back of your mind, unless maybe you're supremely confident in your own abilities,
01:09:22 but I would assume that there's something in everybody that's like, "I don't know.
01:09:25 Let's see if we can do this."
01:09:27 Then there might be a moment where it clicks and you're like, "Oh yeah, I belong here."
01:09:30 Yeah, definitely.
01:09:31 I mean, my first year, I was basically in the G League the whole time.
01:09:36 When I did play in the NBA, which is garbage minutes here and there.
01:09:41 It's kind of in the back of your mind, like, "Do I really belong here?"
01:09:44 Especially a kid like, I was D2, D1 late.
01:09:48 Some people, they come to the league like, "Yeah, this is what I've been destined to
01:09:51 do or not."
01:09:52 Definitely was a time where I was like, "Do I really belong here?"
01:09:55 Then probably the playoffs, I had a good first round.
01:09:59 Then I was like, "Oh yeah, I'll be here for a little bit."
01:10:02 That kind of just clicked from there.
01:10:03 Yeah.
01:10:04 Did you have one, Peyton?
01:10:05 Where you're like, "Yeah, I belong here."
01:10:09 Probably right when I got to the Celtics, just playing against the guys, preseason stuff,
01:10:13 because I played right away.
01:10:14 Yeah, I kind of thought that.
01:10:16 Yeah.
01:10:17 Derek, you had the famous pop quote when you got drafted by the Spurs.
01:10:21 I think the story goes that you played well in your first preseason game, and then someone
01:10:25 asked what your role was going to be, and he said, "Get towels and water."
01:10:28 Yeah.
01:10:29 That's got to hurt.
01:10:30 Yeah.
01:10:31 I was like, "I thought I played pretty well.
01:10:32 Maybe I'll find some minutes here and there."
01:10:35 I saw that, I was like, "Oh, this is going to be interesting."
01:10:38 Way different from anything I've ever experienced in my life before.
01:10:41 Do you think that was good?
01:10:43 Because it feels like pop is a guy who doesn't want to throw you into the fire.
01:10:47 I would assume that would be a good thing for a rookie who's like, "I don't know what's
01:10:51 going on here."
01:10:52 Yeah.
01:10:53 I mean, it makes sense.
01:10:54 We had DeJounte, Patty, Patty Mills, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili, Danny Green.
01:10:59 There's all these guys that have done so much in the league before me, so he's not going
01:11:02 to just throw you out there if you're not ready.
01:11:05 I was just trusted because the Spurs has had so much success developing players, and so
01:11:09 I knew that I was going to be sent to the G League eventually and just try to embrace
01:11:14 it and make the most out of it.
01:11:15 Yeah.
01:11:16 Did you ever interact with Kirk Goldsberry?
01:11:17 Do you know him?
01:11:18 I know who it is, but-
01:11:20 He was the vice president of being a nerd for the Spurs.
01:11:22 Yeah, he's chief nerd.
01:11:23 Chief nerd.
01:11:24 I like his numbers.
01:11:25 Yeah, he does the graphs.
01:11:26 Yeah.
01:11:27 What do you guys think about that, about basketball analytics?
01:11:30 Does a nerd ever come up to you and whisper in your ear, "Hey, this is your corner.
01:11:34 You need to shoot more from over here," or, "You should change your game this way"?
01:11:38 Not necessarily.
01:11:39 You know where you like to shoot from, so you don't really need someone to tell you,
01:11:45 but I wouldn't say someone's like ... Maybe you break down the numbers, like, "Oh, you
01:11:49 shoot this much from the corner," or what percentage, so they don't really come up to
01:11:53 you saying that, like that, where they want to get in your head and whatnot.
01:11:56 But you know where you want to be at and where you're comfortable at, and so you just try
01:12:00 to get to there.
01:12:01 Yeah, I've heard a lot of stories about San Antonio about how Pop's a big wine guy.
01:12:05 He loves wine.
01:12:06 He'll go out, take people out for the most expensive bottles that you'll ever find.
01:12:08 Did he ever take you out for dinner?
01:12:10 Were you part of a team dinner where he just opens up the wallet and drops 20 bottles of
01:12:14 wine on the table?
01:12:15 Yeah, all the time, especially if we stay in the city after a game.
01:12:19 It's a team dinner, and all the wine.
01:12:23 One time I was up my rookie year, I was like, "No, I don't want to drink anything," trying
01:12:26 to be a good guy, and he was like, "Oh, come on.
01:12:30 You're going to have a glass of wine with us.
01:12:31 This is part of the gig."
01:12:32 I was like, "All right," and then ever since then, I just started getting more into wine.
01:12:36 If I have a question about wine, I'll call Pop, and he'll be like, "No, don't drink that.
01:12:40 Drink this."
01:12:41 He's big into wine.
01:12:42 That's awesome.
01:12:43 I know a lot of NBA players have gotten into wine recently.
01:12:46 Is that something that you've found is more and more popular over the years?
01:12:49 Yeah, I think it's really the big thing, especially after a game.
01:12:53 It's just nice to have a glass of wine and just kind of relax.
01:12:56 They should let players in the All-Star game drink wine during the game.
01:12:58 I mean, LeBron was probably drinking wine.
01:12:59 He was probably drinking wine.
01:13:00 Yeah.
01:13:01 I'm going to ask you about the guys at Oregon.
01:13:02 A lot of guys, obviously, in the NBA now, they don't stay for all four years.
01:13:06 Did you sense it from the fans that they were like, "All right, this guy's been here for
01:13:10 too long"?
01:13:11 Because I looked up my old tweet, and I had one that I said, "Is this Peyton Pritchard's
01:13:15 last year?
01:13:16 I swear he's 28 years old and has been playing for the Ducks for a decade.
01:13:19 Get him off my TV."
01:13:20 My bad.
01:13:21 Yeah.
01:13:22 I mean, I feel like it felt like that because I just started as a freshman.
01:13:25 Right.
01:13:26 That's the ... Yeah.
01:13:27 Yeah.
01:13:28 I was a freshman before that year, too.
01:13:29 I feel like it's a good thing people think of because it means you're probably winning,
01:13:34 and you're on the big games a lot.
01:13:35 But I don't know.
01:13:36 Yeah, definitely.
01:13:37 I felt like I was there forever.
01:13:38 I noticed that you changed up your shoe game recently because I think the first time we
01:13:41 saw you play meaningful minutes for the Celtics, we were like, "Why is he wearing black shoes
01:13:46 all the time?
01:13:47 Black shoes look slow."
01:13:48 I seen that.
01:13:49 They actually weren't black.
01:13:50 They were dark green.
01:13:51 But the problem was I had a couple of good games in them.
01:13:54 Yeah.
01:13:55 So I'm like ... That's all it takes.
01:13:56 They are slow, though.
01:13:57 You look slow.
01:13:58 You look slow as fuck.
01:13:59 My dad used to always say that.
01:14:00 Yeah.
01:14:01 Black shoes look slow.
01:14:02 Yeah, sure.
01:14:03 Yeah.
01:14:04 I only wear white ones now, really.
01:14:05 Yeah, I noticed that.
01:14:06 I think we talked about that on the show.
01:14:07 I like where Peyton's going with his career because he's not wearing those clunky-ass
01:14:12 black shoes anymore.
01:14:13 Yeah.
01:14:14 Yeah.
01:14:15 It looks like he runs the cement.
01:14:16 Yeah.
01:14:17 I switched them up.
01:14:18 Smart.
01:14:19 This is the high-level analysis you get on this show.
01:14:20 Yeah, you can listen to ... Listen to JJ Redick talk about off-ball defense all you want.
01:14:23 We're going to talk about how slow you look when you wear dark-colored shoes on this
01:14:26 show.
01:14:27 Yeah.
01:14:28 It's a fact.
01:14:29 True.
01:14:30 Yeah.
01:14:31 Speaking of which, the details, the important basketball details that we always get into
01:14:33 in this show.
01:14:34 Derek, why did you decide to cut your hair?
01:14:37 Well, I told my boy Christmas of that year, I was like, "After the year, I'm doing it."
01:14:44 Then after we lost, I was just sitting there kind of just depressed and just like, "Cut
01:14:51 it."
01:14:52 Then it just happened and just been rocking the ball the gang forever now.
01:14:57 Yeah, it's a good look.
01:14:58 It is a good look, yeah.
01:15:00 Some people hang on way too long and then you're like, "Ah, probably should have done
01:15:04 that a couple years ago."
01:15:05 I'm talking about myself right now, but I just wear a hat.
01:15:08 I respect the fact that you ... You're like Belichick, cut it one year too early instead
01:15:12 of one year too late, right?
01:15:13 Yeah.
01:15:14 I mean, I walk a hat all the time, so it didn't really change much.
01:15:17 Really, just on the basketball court, people notice it.
01:15:20 Yeah.
01:15:21 Who's the one team that you guys like to beat the most?
01:15:24 Ooh, good question.
01:15:27 Does it rhyme with-
01:15:28 You're going to say Philly?
01:15:29 Philadelphia.
01:15:30 Winning in Philly is fun.
01:15:32 Yeah.
01:15:33 Yeah.
01:15:34 You guys do it a lot.
01:15:35 That rivalry you can feel is just different going into that building or when they're playing
01:15:39 us in Boston.
01:15:40 Do you think it is a rivalry?
01:15:41 Because at some point, they would have to win, right?
01:15:43 To make it a true rivalry.
01:15:45 It's a fun game.
01:15:46 Were you guys on the Celtics when the Sixers hit the Canons too early?
01:15:52 No.
01:15:53 No.
01:15:54 That was all time.
01:15:55 That was Philly that did that?
01:15:56 Yeah.
01:15:57 They hit the Canons and then they lost in overtime.
01:15:58 Yeah.
01:15:59 I heard about that.
01:16:00 You got second place and they celebrated it?
01:16:01 Yeah.
01:16:02 That's wild.
01:16:03 Yeah.
01:16:04 In a playoff game.
01:16:05 I can't believe that.
01:16:06 That was pretty bad.
01:16:07 That's embarrassing.
01:16:08 That was really bad.
01:16:09 How good is Jason Tatum?
01:16:10 Are you on the court ever kind of zoning out being like, "Damn, he's good," because maybe
01:16:15 you're like, "Oh shit, I wasn't paying attention to that possession," so just watching him
01:16:18 just be awesome?
01:16:20 He's phenomenal.
01:16:21 Yeah.
01:16:22 I mean, at his size, the way he can dribble and move and being able to hit threes and
01:16:28 get to the hoop, I mean, he's one of a kind.
01:16:31 Yeah.
01:16:32 Off that question, so you guys obviously, you have Jason Tatum, you have Jalen Brown.
01:16:38 They're kind of the stars on your team.
01:16:41 How do you stay in rhythm if you're not shooting for an extended stretch?
01:16:46 We've had this debate with people before that sometimes the NBA turns into one-on-one where
01:16:51 a guy's just going off and you're like, "Everyone else has to stay in rhythm somehow."
01:16:56 How do you do that?
01:16:57 Yeah, I think that's a very underrated skill, especially if you don't touch the ball a lot.
01:17:02 But I think, especially this year, we're doing a good job with everybody's involved.
01:17:08 It's not just JT or JB.
01:17:11 We got a lot of weapons, so everybody's involved.
01:17:14 We each got the freedom to attack and do whatever we need to do.
01:17:17 But yeah, it's definitely an underrated skill of just being ready whenever you finally get
01:17:23 the ball or the ball comes to you.
01:17:25 The ball might not come to you for 10 possessions in a row, but you still got to compete defensively
01:17:30 and then be ready to knock it down or make a play.
01:17:33 So it's definitely one of the tougher skills that nobody really talks about that it's hard
01:17:38 to stay in rhythm, especially people have had the ball in their hands their entire life.
01:17:42 Right.
01:17:43 So it's definitely an adjustment.
01:17:44 But especially this year, I think we're doing a good job just keeping everybody involved
01:17:48 and everybody just feels like they're a part of the offense.
01:17:51 Yeah.
01:17:52 Yeah.
01:17:53 I mean, it definitely no one really talks about it or no one really compliments guys
01:17:58 who are able to be just in rhythm, even though they haven't been part of the offense for
01:18:02 a couple of possessions.
01:18:03 And you're right.
01:18:04 I didn't even think about the part that you guys were obviously incredible basketball
01:18:06 players your whole life, and then you get to the NBA and it's like, "Wait, I was the
01:18:09 one who was taking all the shots.
01:18:11 I had 50 ball screens at work."
01:18:12 Yeah.
01:18:13 Yeah.
01:18:14 It's like, "I'm the best."
01:18:15 Yeah.
01:18:16 Last year in the playoffs, you guys obviously were in the Eastern Conference Final.
01:18:20 Didn't go well.
01:18:21 I'm not going to bring up painful memories, but I had two questions about that series.
01:18:25 One, our boss Dave Portnoy tried to take credit for putting together a team dinner.
01:18:31 Do you guys know that he put together a team dinner in Miami when you, I think you were
01:18:34 down 3-0.
01:18:35 Did you know he did that?
01:18:36 I didn't know it was him.
01:18:38 Okay.
01:18:39 So it looks like no credit given.
01:18:40 Yeah.
01:18:41 In Miami.
01:18:42 Yeah, it was that little sushi place where we sat up top.
01:18:45 He was-
01:18:46 I didn't think that was after game three though.
01:18:47 It might've been game four after game four, but he basically was like, "If they win this
01:18:50 series it's all because of me."
01:18:52 That was before game five.
01:18:53 Maybe.
01:18:54 Yeah.
01:18:55 Or before game six.
01:18:57 Before game six.
01:18:58 Komodo.
01:18:59 Komodo.
01:19:00 Oh yeah.
01:19:01 Yes.
01:19:02 He knows those guys.
01:19:03 So yeah.
01:19:04 Did you know that he was the one who hooked that up?
01:19:05 I did not know.
01:19:06 Okay.
01:19:07 It was good.
01:19:08 And a lot of food.
01:19:09 Okay.
01:19:10 All right.
01:19:11 So yeah, he was walking around being like, "When they come back, it's on the start of
01:19:12 the season."
01:19:13 So that's what he was saying.
01:19:14 That and Topgolf.
01:19:15 Yeah.
01:19:16 Oh, Topgolf.
01:19:17 Topgolf brought you back.
01:19:18 And then the other one-
01:19:19 I forgot about that.
01:19:20 Derek, when you hit the game winner in game six, which was incredible.
01:19:24 First of all, walk me through how that happened because it was off of a rebound, no time left.
01:19:31 It was just all instinct I'd assume?
01:19:33 Yeah, pretty much.
01:19:35 I was taking it out and I remember there was like two seconds or however much they added
01:19:38 on.
01:19:39 So I was like, "We got a lot of time."
01:19:41 So I was expecting someone to take a dribble or something.
01:19:44 But when we talked about in training camp, end of game, offensive rebounds are huge.
01:19:48 And so the shot went up and I just was like, "We might as well crash."
01:19:53 And it bounced right to me.
01:19:54 And then that's just instincts.
01:19:55 And I mean, I felt pretty confident I got it off, but you're kind of just sitting there
01:20:00 waiting and I feel like that five seconds was like five hours.
01:20:05 Yeah.
01:20:06 It was great.
01:20:07 I bet you there was a lot of dads across America were like, "See, that's why you crash the
01:20:11 boards.
01:20:12 That's why you follow your shot."
01:20:13 Like that was, you were everyone's favorite player that night.
01:20:18 And then the other thing in this shot, our producer, Max, we have a video up.
01:20:22 So he is a diehard Sixers fan.
01:20:24 He hates the Celtics.
01:20:25 He hates Hank.
01:20:26 He hates pretty much everyone and all he does is lose.
01:20:29 So this is his replay of what he's rooting so hard for the heat in this game.
01:20:34 This is replay of watching your shot go in.
01:20:39 So go ahead, play it.
01:20:40 And no one asked him to take the video.
01:20:41 He was just like, "I'm going to film myself."
01:20:44 I had a couple beverages.
01:20:46 I think it was Memorial Day weekend.
01:20:47 Yeah, your cheeks are sweating.
01:20:50 Yeah, it was hot.
01:20:53 Go.
01:20:54 Go.
01:20:55 Go.
01:20:56 Go.
01:20:57 Go.
01:20:58 Go.
01:20:59 Go.
01:21:00 Go.
01:21:01 I need a rolling.
01:21:02 I need a rolling.
01:21:03 No way.
01:21:04 No way.
01:21:05 No.
01:21:06 He got one.
01:21:07 No.
01:21:08 He got one.
01:21:09 Oh.
01:21:10 He got one.
01:21:11 Oh.
01:21:12 That's game.
01:21:13 And he got kissed by his boy.
01:21:14 Yeah.
01:21:15 So that wasn't just a buzzer beater against Miami.
01:21:16 That was against the entire city of Philadelphia, too, those guys against you.
01:21:17 Yeah.
01:21:18 That was him.
01:21:19 You crushed, you ruined his Labor Day.
01:21:20 Yeah, no.
01:21:21 I wanted you guys to lose for sure.
01:21:22 I'm not going to play the game.
01:21:23 I'm going to play the game.
01:21:24 I'm not going to play the game.
01:21:25 I'm not going to play the game.
01:21:26 I'm not going to play the game.
01:21:27 I'm not going to play the game.
01:21:28 I'm not going to play the game.
01:21:29 You crushed, you ruined his Labor Day.
01:21:30 Yeah, no.
01:21:31 I wanted you guys to lose for sure.
01:21:32 That's what it is.
01:21:33 Yeah.
01:21:34 That's what sports does.
01:21:35 It brings us all together and getting kissed by your boys in the middle of the...
01:21:39 Max, do you have any questions for them because you hate the Celtics so much?
01:21:42 I don't know.
01:21:43 What's it like?
01:21:44 I mean, you got to hate Sixers fans more than anyone, right?
01:21:49 They beat you all the time.
01:21:52 I hate you, but it is definitely a different atmosphere in Philly, but what's that?
01:21:58 I hate them.
01:21:59 It's fun.
01:22:00 Like I said earlier, it's definitely fun playing there.
01:22:02 Yeah.
01:22:03 Yeah.
01:22:04 I mean, you guys just beat the shit out of us all the time.
01:22:05 It sucks.
01:22:06 Hank, what do you got?
01:22:08 Hank is a diehard Celtics fan.
01:22:10 He actually, now that the Patriots stopped winning Super Bowls, I think the Celtics are
01:22:14 his number one easily.
01:22:15 Yeah.
01:22:16 I've been for a while.
01:22:17 I feel like it's the same core team.
01:22:20 The biggest unexpected storyline for me has been poor Zingas and Jalen Brown and how tight
01:22:25 they are.
01:22:26 I feel like they're like a buddy cop friendship, which no one really expected.
01:22:31 Is it like that?
01:22:32 Were you guys surprised at how tight they are?
01:22:34 Do they act like they're like brothers in the locker room and stuff?
01:22:39 I mean, I feel like I wasn't surprised.
01:22:41 I mean, they do live in the same apartment building.
01:22:43 Yeah.
01:22:44 But no, J.B. and K.P. have just easy going and get along with everybody, great personality.
01:22:52 So once I met K.P., he was going to be a great fit to the locker room because he is a good dude.
01:22:58 Yeah.
01:22:59 And he's a weapon.
01:23:00 They're always nice to each other.
01:23:01 So you got no choice but to become friends and they were just playing well together.
01:23:06 K.P. makes life easier for everybody.
01:23:09 Yeah, for sure.
01:23:10 Does K.P. do things in practice sometimes where you're like, "Holy shit, that dude's still got some incredible athleticism"?
01:23:16 We don't-- I mean, in the games, but practices, we don't really do live stuff or anything like that.
01:23:23 That's a bad question.
01:23:24 Bad question.
01:23:25 But he has 7'4" and can shoot from anywhere.
01:23:27 In games, it's incredible.
01:23:28 I definitely wouldn't ask that.
01:23:30 Unless he gets a switch, you're like--
01:23:32 I feel like his body was just-- they just kind of put him in suspension last year where he was on ice for a year playing with the Wizards.
01:23:39 And then they're like, "Okay, now he's fully healthy and ready to go."
01:23:42 He actually had a great year last year.
01:23:44 He killed us last year.
01:23:45 Yeah.
01:23:46 Yeah.
01:23:47 Hank also, he just told us before we started taping this that if you guys don't win the title this year, he's going to shave his face into a soul patch.
01:23:57 Yeah, never said that.
01:23:58 He's like, "All in. All in."
01:24:00 Didn't you say that?
01:24:01 Nope.
01:24:02 You want to say it right now?
01:24:03 No.
01:24:04 For the guys right here.
01:24:05 You believe in the Celtics, don't you?
01:24:06 Yeah.
01:24:07 You don't believe in us?
01:24:08 Yeah, you don't believe in them?
01:24:09 How much do you believe in us?
01:24:10 Come on.
01:24:11 [laughter]
01:24:12 Come on.
01:24:13 You don't believe in them?
01:24:14 I believe in you guys.
01:24:15 So then you would do it if you believed in them.
01:24:17 Yeah, I believe in you guys.
01:24:19 What about, Hank, you can follow Derek's lead and if the Celtics win the championship, you shave your head.
01:24:25 Oh.
01:24:26 I'll do that.
01:24:27 Okay.
01:24:28 Okay.
01:24:29 All right, good.
01:24:30 We got it.
01:24:31 And if they don't, soul patch.
01:24:32 Yeah, I'll shave my head when we win.
01:24:33 Okay.
01:24:34 Okay.
01:24:35 When they win.
01:24:36 Do you have any other--
01:24:37 No, it's we.
01:24:38 It's we.
01:24:39 Yeah, is it we?
01:24:40 I've wondered about that with diehard fans.
01:24:41 Can they say we?
01:24:42 For sure.
01:24:43 You put so much heart and soul into it.
01:24:44 They're all part of it.
01:24:45 Yeah.
01:24:46 Do you get mad though when, because what I do is I say we when it's going well and then when it's bad, I'm like they.
01:24:51 Yeah, that's not, either right or--
01:24:54 [laughter]
01:24:55 My other question was Jeff Van Gundy because he obviously just came in late.
01:25:01 Does he work with the players or does he work with the coaching staff?
01:25:04 Because it's not a coaching role.
01:25:06 I don't really know what his role is.
01:25:08 I just know it's like, yeah, Jeff Van Gundy's a Celtics staffer, but what does that mean?
01:25:12 Yeah, he's mostly with the coaches.
01:25:16 But he's just around practices and if anybody has anything, they can go to him.
01:25:21 He has a great basketball mind, and so just adding him has been, I think, great.
01:25:26 But I think he's mostly with the coaches' staff.
01:25:28 How many-- does Brad Stevens ever draw plays for you guys?
01:25:31 Or is he just obviously, you know, he's in management, but does he ever come down and is like, hey, try this?
01:25:37 Not that I've seen, but I'm sure him and Joe talk.
01:25:41 Yeah.
01:25:42 Because I played with Brad for my rookie year, so he's definitely really smart in that aspect of the game
01:25:47 and the plays and all that.
01:25:49 Brad is a genius.
01:25:51 Yeah, when you guys would go on a losing streak or anything, would he ever just be like,
01:25:54 "Indiana would pay me $150 million right now if I went back to college"?
01:25:59 You think they would?
01:26:00 Yeah.
01:26:01 Yeah, they definitely would.
01:26:02 Desperately.
01:26:03 He never holds that over you guys?
01:26:04 Like, "I can be living in Indiana, 150 mil, no problem."
01:26:09 No, I think he enjoys it in Boston.
01:26:11 Yeah, I mean, he's got a pretty nice life, I would say.
01:26:15 Like, that's the Indiana basketball.
01:26:18 He is the guy that they just put out there.
01:26:20 They're like, "Brad Stevens will just come and save everything."
01:26:23 I don't think he's leaving.
01:26:24 Yeah, I don't see it happening.
01:26:26 Yeah, I think being in the front office would be an awesome gig.
01:26:28 You just watch basketball and you're like, "Here's what I would do different."
01:26:30 Especially for a good team.
01:26:31 Yeah.
01:26:32 You'd be like, "Yeah, see, we're good."
01:26:33 One minor tweak and I think I could solve this.
01:26:35 Yeah.
01:26:36 What are the differences in coaching style between Brad, E-May, and Joe?
01:26:42 Oh, good question.
01:26:43 I guess that's only for me?
01:26:44 Yeah.
01:26:50 We do FMK for those three if that's easier.
01:26:53 Brad is--
01:26:55 I mean, there's definitely similarities to all three of them.
01:27:01 Brad is, I would say, a little bit more laid back, obviously really smart.
01:27:06 E-May was more tense, would you say?
01:27:10 Like, I don't know compared to Joe.
01:27:13 You guys got an edge when E-May took over, it felt like, especially defensively.
01:27:18 Yeah, I think we definitely did.
01:27:20 I think Joe's like a balance between the two of them.
01:27:25 He worked under Brad, so I think he took a lot of that stuff.
01:27:28 And Joe was already kind of like a psycho in a way.
01:27:33 He's very mentally locked in and he expects that a lot, so he has that part of E-May in him too.
01:27:39 So he has a little bit of both.
01:27:41 Yeah, I mean, I would expect you to be pretty locked in and going aggressive
01:27:47 when you have the town just playing on loop in your brain.
01:27:50 For sure.
01:27:51 The more I think about that, I like that strategy where it's like,
01:27:54 "I'm going to tell the media something just ridiculous about myself."
01:27:57 We fell for it.
01:27:58 And then that's all the idiots in the press room ask about.
01:28:00 It's like, "Talk to me more about the town."
01:28:02 Yeah, we fell for it.
01:28:03 And meanwhile, they're not asking about anything else.
01:28:05 He does, yeah.
01:28:07 When you guys saw E-May having a little back and forth with LeBron,
01:28:11 were you like, "I'm not surprised at all"?
01:28:13 No, not at all, because I knew he didn't like LeBron.
01:28:17 I mean, I believe that LeBron would have-- I think E-May might have beaten him up
01:28:22 if they let them fight.
01:28:23 Head to head?
01:28:24 Yeah, it feels like E-May is a pretty tough dude.
01:28:28 It'd be interesting.
01:28:29 Yeah.
01:28:30 I'd pay to watch.
01:28:31 Maybe Rough and Rowdy.
01:28:32 Maybe we'll get it going, Rough and Rowdy.
01:28:33 That'd be good.
01:28:34 Speaking of the town, what are you guys' favorite Boston movies?
01:28:38 Ted.
01:28:39 Ted, okay.
01:28:40 That's a wild card.
01:28:41 I kind of like Good Will Hunting.
01:28:43 That's a classic.
01:28:44 Yeah, that's a classic.
01:28:45 It's not your fault.
01:28:46 How about The Maples?
01:28:47 Yeah.
01:28:48 I'd just go see about A Girl.
01:28:50 Yeah.
01:28:51 Yeah, a lot of classic lines in that one.
01:28:53 I went on my first date to Good Will Hunting.
01:28:55 Didn't go well.
01:28:56 It didn't?
01:28:57 No, it's got a bad, bad connotation in my head, yeah.
01:28:59 Oh, damn.
01:29:00 A girl broke up with me at the ice skating rink right after the movie was over.
01:29:03 It was tough.
01:29:04 Oh, shit.
01:29:05 So you never watched it again?
01:29:06 I never watched it again.
01:29:07 I should go back and see it, but it would bring up a lot of painful memories,
01:29:09 but jokes on her because I dated all her friends afterwards.
01:29:11 Nice.
01:29:12 So you get back at her.
01:29:13 That's awesome.
01:29:14 Yeah, it is awesome.
01:29:15 Good for you.
01:29:16 Thank you.
01:29:17 I touched boobs when I watched Waterboy in the theaters.
01:29:19 That was pretty cool.
01:29:20 That is cool.
01:29:21 Yeah.
01:29:22 First time?
01:29:23 Has nothing to do with it, yeah.
01:29:24 I don't know if it was the first time, but it was definitely awesome.
01:29:26 Congrats.
01:29:27 Yeah, congrats.
01:29:28 It was awesome.
01:29:29 That movie, I didn't watch much of that movie.
01:29:30 It's a funny movie, though.
01:29:31 Big moment.
01:29:32 Yeah, yeah.
01:29:33 I got another serious basketball question for you.
01:29:34 How far in advance do you pick out your outfits for the tunnel walks?
01:29:37 Ooh.
01:29:38 Pete probably does them more than me.
01:29:40 It's like 30 minutes before I head out.
01:29:42 Yeah?
01:29:43 More of a sweatpants kind of chill.
01:29:45 Yeah, and we'll edit this part out if the answer's not correct,
01:29:48 but when you were in that boy dad sweatshirt,
01:29:50 that was not because you're a boy dad.
01:29:52 That was because you listen to the podcast?
01:29:54 I am a boy dad.
01:29:55 Okay.
01:29:56 So I just had my second son, and so my wife bought it for me,
01:30:00 and I was like, after he's been through-
01:30:02 But it's also Little Sash.
01:30:03 You love Little Sash.
01:30:05 I actually didn't know it was Barstool.
01:30:07 Okay.
01:30:08 But now you love Little Sash.
01:30:10 Now you love Little Sash.
01:30:11 And you wish you had found out about him earlier.
01:30:13 Yeah, I should have done my research before I wore any of it.
01:30:15 Yeah, yeah.
01:30:16 I am a fan now.
01:30:17 Okay, that's good.
01:30:18 Love that.
01:30:19 That's huge.
01:30:20 Good answer.
01:30:21 So the stretch run, you guys obviously were taping this in February.
01:30:25 How is the stretch run in the NBA when you know you're a really good team,
01:30:29 you guys are the one seed, you know you have the playoffs,
01:30:31 is it hard to keep focus down the stretch where it's like we're going to be
01:30:35 playing meaningful basketball for a very long time,
01:30:38 and like these games in the middle of March, do they kind of drag sometimes?
01:30:44 I mean, I think the one difference about this team this year that I noticed
01:30:47 is everybody really loves basketball.
01:30:49 So every day, like when she said that, everybody's kind of excited to play.
01:30:53 It doesn't matter if it's really a back-to-back or, you know,
01:30:57 we've had like five games in seven nights.
01:30:59 People are motivated.
01:31:01 Yeah.
01:31:02 I'd say the toughest stretch in the NBA is probably like the week or two
01:31:05 before All-Star break.
01:31:06 Yeah.
01:31:07 Like it's not halfway.
01:31:08 We've played the majority of our games, and so you're just tired,
01:31:13 and people got their vacations booked.
01:31:15 Like they're looking forward to get to the sun.
01:31:17 So I feel like that's the toughest stretch.
01:31:20 I mean, after this, now we're just trying to prepare for the playoffs
01:31:23 and make sure we play in the best basketball we can to get to the real basketball.
01:31:27 Yeah.
01:31:28 Does it affect your preparation for the playoffs at all with the play-in
01:31:30 tournament where you don't know who you're going to play until like the last minute?
01:31:34 No.
01:31:35 Take anybody.
01:31:36 Yeah, not really.
01:31:37 What about the end-season tournament?
01:31:39 Did you guys, like when they announced the end-season tournament,
01:31:42 did you care about it?
01:31:44 And then once you started playing in it,
01:31:45 did your level of how much you care about the end-season tournament change?
01:31:49 Yeah, when they first announced it, I was like, "What is this?"
01:31:51 But it was actually pretty fun.
01:31:54 Like that game against Indiana that we lost at Indiana,
01:31:57 like Indiana has never been that loud before.
01:32:00 Yeah.
01:32:01 In the games I've played there, and like it was just a different level.
01:32:05 So I think it was a success, and it was a lot of fun.
01:32:07 And I think they did a good job with it, and it's going to just be around forever now.
01:32:12 Yeah, people are pumped.
01:32:13 We actually have a colleague here, Mark Titus,
01:32:15 that has a great idea for how to switch up the NBA a little bit,
01:32:19 make things more exciting.
01:32:20 One night per year, there is one breakable basketball goal
01:32:25 that you can like shatter the backboard at,
01:32:27 but they don't tell you where it is, but it's just in some arena,
01:32:30 somewhere in the league.
01:32:32 Do you think that would get the guys pumped up?
01:32:35 Yeah.
01:32:36 It depends on like--
01:32:37 I'll break the backboard.
01:32:38 It could be like a basic dunk.
01:32:41 Like if it's a basic dunk and the backboard breaks,
01:32:44 then you're just like, "Ah."
01:32:45 That would be a letdown.
01:32:46 Yeah, you're right.
01:32:47 It would have to be a good dunk that broke it.
01:32:49 Yeah.
01:32:50 Have you guys ever broken a backboard or a rim?
01:32:52 No.
01:32:53 Just let Nerf one.
01:32:54 Yeah.
01:32:55 That counts.
01:32:56 That's got to be a great feeling though if you're able to shatter one.
01:32:57 Yeah.
01:32:58 Hank, before I ask my last question, do you have any other questions?
01:33:01 No, that was it.
01:33:02 I was going to talk about the fashion questions.
01:33:04 I feel like it's you, JB, and Tatum are always going for it,
01:33:10 and then some guys, Derek and Horford, just roll up in their normal fits.
01:33:15 Yeah.
01:33:16 Drew comes with some good outfits.
01:33:18 Yeah, Drew.
01:33:19 KP, he's so tall, but he always rocks the--you know,
01:33:23 wears the--rolls it out.
01:33:25 He got a little style to him.
01:33:26 He's wearing suits to games for you in there.
01:33:28 Have there ever been any misses where some guy wears something he thinks
01:33:31 is going to look really awesome and then you guys just all clown him?
01:33:33 I mean, I've definitely missed my time.
01:33:35 I look back at some of my old outfits and I'm like, "What the heck?"
01:33:39 I'm going to look it up right now.
01:33:41 What was the locker room after that when Drake was chirping to you?
01:33:46 Well, I didn't know whether to take it as a compliment
01:33:49 or was he trying to diss me, but, I mean,
01:33:51 at the end of the day Drake was saying something about me,
01:33:55 so I was like, "Whatever, it's a compliment."

01:34:08 Do you guys want to guarantee a title?
01:34:11 It would help the podcast, and we've been very nice to you guys.
01:34:15 We're going to put everything into it to win one.
01:34:17 Okay, and what about you, Derek?
01:34:20 Yeah, I agree with what P said.
01:34:22 Okay, so if I said you guys are going to win the title, guaranteed,
01:34:26 would you agree with that?
01:34:28 It won't be because of a lack of effort.
01:34:30 Okay, so halfway there.
01:34:32 If you don't win a title, how disappointing of a season is that?
01:34:36 It would definitely be disappointing.
01:34:38 That kind of sucks, though.
01:34:39 I know that's the right mentality for a player to have,
01:34:42 but you can have a great season.
01:34:44 What, are you being honest right now?
01:34:45 Yeah, no, I am.
01:34:46 No, I'm like Anthony Rendon.
01:34:48 The game comes after faith and family.
01:34:50 But if you have a great season and you don't win the title, you're like,
01:34:53 "Well, that was a waste of a year."
01:34:55 To me, I don't have that mentality, which is probably why I'm not in the NBA,
01:34:59 where I'd be like, "Yeah, I made a lot of friends this year in the league,
01:35:03 so it's not a waste."
01:35:04 You had a good time.
01:35:05 I don't know.
01:35:06 I would say it's a waste.
01:35:07 It wouldn't be a waste.
01:35:08 It just makes the story better when we finally do do it.
01:35:11 Yeah, that's true.
01:35:12 And we got enough because we'll just do a quote that says,
01:35:14 "We're going to win the title guaranteed and then not for lack of effort
01:35:18 in really small print," and then it will say,
01:35:20 "Peyton Pritchard in big print and then Big Cat in small print."
01:35:24 So you just have to figure out who said what.
01:35:26 You'd be like, "We're going to win the title this year,
01:35:30 that's a guarantee, dash, PFT and Big Cat," and then in big letters,
01:35:35 "While they're interviewing Peyton Pritchard."
01:35:37 Yeah, yeah, yeah.
01:35:38 Yeah, so it's us that say it.
01:35:39 Yeah, chances.
01:35:40 And Derek in there at all?
01:35:41 Yeah, just Peyton.
01:35:42 Yeah, just Peyton.
01:35:43 I just agreed to it.
01:35:44 Oh, I had one last, last question.
01:35:45 How awesome of a teammate was Blake Griffin?
01:35:47 Because we love him.
01:35:48 He's the best.
01:35:49 He's kind of our best friend.
01:35:51 Us too.
01:35:52 Yeah, why doesn't he still play basketball?
01:35:55 I don't know.
01:35:56 We begged him to.
01:35:57 I think the whole team has been begging him to.
01:35:58 Yeah, I'm begging him to.
01:35:59 Like, come back to Boston, Blake, do it.
01:36:01 Do you guys still continue to beg him?
01:36:03 I text him actually like a week or two jokingly,
01:36:05 being like, "Coming back for one last ride."
01:36:08 And what'd he say?
01:36:09 He says he's enjoying his life.
01:36:11 I kind of want to FaceTime him right now and make him go,
01:36:14 come back to basketball.
01:36:15 Yeah, quit enjoying your life, Blake.
01:36:17 But if I FaceTime him and he doesn't pick up,
01:36:19 it would be disastrous for me.
01:36:20 You should try.
01:36:21 I'll do one more question while you're doing that.
01:36:23 If there was a button that you could press
01:36:26 and you win an NBA championship,
01:36:28 but someone somewhere in the world dies,
01:36:31 but you don't know who, do you press that button?
01:36:34 I've seen this movie before.
01:36:36 Then they give that button to another person and then--
01:36:39 Yeah, you got to be wary about the button.
01:36:41 I remember that movie.
01:36:42 I touched a vagina during that.
01:36:43 Yeah.
01:36:44 That was a joke.
01:36:46 Oh, he did pick up.
01:36:48 Hey, these guys miss you.
01:36:51 Why don't you keep playing basketball?
01:36:54 Is it because you can't dunk?
01:36:55 Oh, man. No, I wish I hadn't picked up.
01:36:58 [laughter]
01:37:00 Come on.
01:37:01 They said that--Peyton Pritchard said he texted you like last week
01:37:05 saying, "Come on back."
01:37:07 Yeah, yeah, we talk quite a bit.
01:37:10 I'm just enjoying life right now, guys.
01:37:13 I told you, it's bad-ass.
01:37:14 All right, fine.
01:37:15 Well, we got to get you back on soon.
01:37:17 The question was how awesome is Blake Griffin as a teammate,
01:37:20 and they said the best.
01:37:22 Oh, nice.
01:37:23 Yeah.
01:37:24 You're welcome.
01:37:25 I'll DMO you later.
01:37:26 Yeah, yeah.
01:37:27 Hey, Blake, I got one more question for you.
01:37:29 Do you guarantee the Boston Celtics win an NBA championship this year?
01:37:35 I think, yeah, they're my favorites.
01:37:37 Okay, so yeah.
01:37:38 He said, yeah, we'll end the sentence after yeah.
01:37:40 I don't guarantee.
01:37:41 I don't want to put bad juju on them, but, yeah,
01:37:43 they're heavy favorites in my mind.
01:37:45 Okay, so why don't you come back and win a ring?
01:37:48 Oh, man.
01:37:50 Is it the not dunking thing?
01:37:52 Because we could tell everyone you can still dunk.
01:37:55 If you get that out there and enough people start tweeting about it,
01:37:58 then maybe I'll come back.
01:37:59 All right, no problem.
01:38:00 We will do that.
01:38:01 You can still dunk.
01:38:02 All right, bye, Blake.
01:38:03 Thank you for picking up.
01:38:04 Did you ever hear anybody yell at Blake, like,
01:38:06 congrats on winning Blake of the Year to him?
01:38:08 All the time.
01:38:09 [laughter]
01:38:11 Yeah, all the time.
01:38:12 Pretty much every game.
01:38:14 Blake of the Year, Blake.
01:38:15 Oh, our fans are the best, but they can take things too far.
01:38:20 We had that with Max Homa, who we had to get them to stop yelling at him,
01:38:24 homosexual.
01:38:25 No, no, pervert.
01:38:26 Pervert.
01:38:27 We don't say that anymore.
01:38:28 He called him a pervert, so that was our fault.
01:38:29 Because we called him a parvert, and everyone's like, oh, you're a per--
01:38:32 No, it didn't work out that way.
01:38:34 All right, well, Derek, Peyton, thank you so much.
01:38:37 Best of luck the rest of the season.
01:38:38 Hopefully you guys win it all;
01:38:39 otherwise Hank's going to have to get that soul patch.
01:38:41 So, right, Hank?
01:38:44 We got it.
01:38:45 Oh.
01:38:46 If you do, shaved head.
01:38:47 Yeah.
01:38:48 Yeah.
01:38:49 Thanks, guys.
01:38:51 Derek White and Peyton Pritchard were brought to you by Proper No. 12 Irish Whiskey.
01:38:56 They've also got Crisp and Fresh Proper No. 12 Irish Apple.
01:38:59 Great sipping whiskey.
01:39:01 Good to pass a bottle around.
01:39:02 Good to have on ice.
01:39:03 Good to have neat.
01:39:04 Good to have any way.
01:39:06 The Irish Apple is elite, and the standard No. 12 Irish Whiskey is also awesome.
01:39:11 Great on the golf course, too.
01:39:12 We had a bottle not too long ago that we took out on the course.
01:39:15 Great to sip some Irish whiskey out with the boys.
01:39:18 It was founded by Conor McGregor.
01:39:19 Shoot your shot of Proper No. 12 Irish Whiskey today.
01:39:22 Pour the roar.
01:39:23 Open your bottle and order your whiskey on Drizzly.
01:39:28 Check it out.
01:39:29 It's No. 12 Irish Whiskey with Drizzly.
01:39:32 Okay, we have two Monday readings.
01:39:35 One is Memes Sent Us a Story from Reddit.
01:39:39 I want to do that second.
01:39:40 The first one I wanted to share with you, PFT, from the people that brought you
01:39:46 Travis Kelsey Inventing the Fade.
01:39:49 We have a new phenomenon thanks to Taylor Swift fans.
01:39:54 It was a headline that reads, "Taylor Swift fans drive new travel trend of gig tripping."
01:40:04 Okay.
01:40:05 How does it work?
01:40:06 Can I guess?
01:40:07 You can take a guess, but you will be wrong.
01:40:09 Okay, so if you're a fan of Taylor Swift and you want to go see her perform in concert,
01:40:13 but her concert is not in your hometown,
01:40:15 Yes.
01:40:16 then you would make a trip to go see her play her concert somewhere else.
01:40:20 Kind of.
01:40:21 Okay.
01:40:22 Gig tripping, this is from the article, "Gig tripping combines travel with music with people
01:40:26 willing to merge vacation plans with a music event."
01:40:29 Okay.
01:40:30 This has literally never been done.
01:40:31 I've never heard of this.
01:40:32 So you take a vacation and your vacation is going to a different city and seeing a concert.
01:40:36 Correct.
01:40:37 Now, am I, full disclosure, slightly triggered by this?
01:40:42 Being a Grateful Dead and Phish fan?
01:40:45 Maybe, but gig tripping has been invented by Taylor Swift fans.
01:40:50 According to Skyscanner, 44% of Americans are willing to fly short haul to see their
01:40:54 favorite artists while 18% will go the extra mile with long haul flights.
01:40:59 And it goes on to say, "With kids and adults alike looking for Swift tickets, travel company
01:41:04 Travelmation is seeing an increase in gig tripping requests."
01:41:09 I just booked a family on a European trip built entirely around Taylor Swift.
01:41:14 This is literally what hippies have been doing for decades and decades and decades and decades.
01:41:20 Gig tripping is one of the hottest trends in travel and much of it is thanks to Taylor Swift.
01:41:25 She's creating an industry, yeah.
01:41:27 Adam Duckworth, president and founder of Travelmation said, "We have clients booking trips all over
01:41:31 the world to see her.
01:41:32 Gone are the days where people see their favorite artists at the local venue."
01:41:36 Gone.
01:41:37 Gone.
01:41:38 You can't do that anymore.
01:41:39 Usually it was just if your favorite band is playing within 20 miles from you, you go.
01:41:43 Otherwise, never.
01:41:44 I have seen some of those clips of people on planes and they're all going to the Taylor
01:41:48 Swift concert.
01:41:49 Yes.
01:41:50 And that, I would rather be on a plane with 75 Maxes housing, what is that, 150 sodas?
01:41:55 I would much rather be on a plane like that than a plane of Taylor Swift.
01:41:59 I'd rather be on a plane with the pilot as Flacco the Eagle.
01:42:02 Owl, sorry.
01:42:03 Yeah.
01:42:04 Apologies, Flacco people.
01:42:06 They're willing to travel as far as necessary to experience these high energy shows and
01:42:12 it goes on and on and tells you how gig tripping is now a thing thanks to Taylor Swift.
01:42:18 Fans are traveling to see Taylor Swift.
01:42:22 Multiple concerts.
01:42:23 Never been done.
01:42:24 Like I saw that she was performing, but it's in a city that I don't live in.
01:42:28 There's got to be a way for us to get there.
01:42:30 I can't believe this is a real story that Travelmation guy.
01:42:34 He literally just woke up yesterday, like he was born yesterday?
01:42:38 Oh no, no, Travelmation guy, this is his business.
01:42:40 Yeah.
01:42:41 He sells these trips and so he's like, "This is a great news story," and then he found
01:42:44 some reporter that needed to fill copy.
01:42:46 Yeah.
01:42:47 He's like, "I've got a great, I got a scoop for you.
01:42:49 My business is doing very well.
01:42:50 Would you like to write about it?"
01:42:52 It's a good scoop.
01:42:53 I was reading this as the Arthur meme, just shaking my fist.
01:42:57 Very mad.
01:42:58 Like, God damn it, she invented everything.
01:43:00 Well, no, Mincy actually invented gig tripping.
01:43:02 That's true.
01:43:03 That's true.
01:43:04 In two ways.
01:43:05 Yeah.
01:43:06 Yes.
01:43:07 All right, here's Monday reading number two.
01:43:10 This is from memes.
01:43:12 "Boyfriend, 28 male, keeps sneaking plastic food onto my 25 female plate."
01:43:18 Okay.
01:43:19 I can already tell you, I'm on the guy's side of this.
01:43:22 Yeah.
01:43:23 "So we've been together 14 months and he's a great partner overall.
01:43:26 He has a stable, respectable career that he enjoys, nutritionist.
01:43:30 He's very caring in most ways."
01:43:33 Wow, I skimmed this.
01:43:35 The fact that he's a nutritionist makes it even funnier.
01:43:37 And he's doing this.
01:43:38 "He's very caring in most ways and we have similar goals for our lives,
01:43:42 but he's got an odd sense of humor sometimes,
01:43:45 especially about one particular thing.
01:43:47 He has access to a seemingly unlimited supply of plastic foods
01:43:52 and he keeps sneaking them onto my plate at meals.
01:43:55 I saw the humor in it the first time, plastic scoop of cottage cheese
01:44:00 replaced my real cottage cheese at breakfast,
01:44:03 but I have lost count of the number of times he's played this prank on me.
01:44:08 There have been plastic turkey slices on a sandwich,
01:44:11 a plastic chicken tender coated in buffalo sauce at a restaurant."
01:44:16 He's sneaking onto her plate?
01:44:17 This guy's awesome.
01:44:21 "He's got a plastic deviled egg, swap at my friend's wedding."
01:44:26 Okay, so without seeing the plates of food, I kind of have to blame her.
01:44:31 Yeah.
01:44:32 If you're this easily trickable, what are you, a Labrador retriever?
01:44:35 This is a trick that you could play on your dog quite successfully
01:44:39 on your girlfriend who is, what, 25 years old?
01:44:41 25, female.
01:44:42 I'm questioning her eyesight.
01:44:44 The sandwich is the only one I'll have her back.
01:44:46 If you slip something in a sandwich, that's kind of fucked up.
01:44:48 Yep, it would be.
01:44:49 Yeah, all right, but I think the one that irritated me the most
01:44:52 was when he wrapped a real banana skin around a plastic banana
01:44:56 and put it back with the rest of the bunch on my counter.
01:44:59 He says he just means it as a little joke when I've asked him to stop,
01:45:03 but I'm getting paranoid when I eat with him.
01:45:06 What if he takes it too far and I choke on a fake cheese cube?
01:45:09 The weirdest thing is I don't know where he gets these.
01:45:12 As I've seen his bank statements, there's no indicator he's buying them himself.
01:45:16 Okay, so what you're going to want to do is go deeper into his bank statements
01:45:19 and don't look for prank things that he's purchasing at a joke store.
01:45:24 The man has a 3D printer.
01:45:26 I think he bought a 3D printer just to fuck with you.
01:45:29 Not only that, but you kind of said it at the beginning, he's a nutritionist.
01:45:33 Isn't he probably making videos where he's like, "This is what you shouldn't eat"?
01:45:36 He might be, but if it's plastic--
01:45:38 Again, with a banana, he put a fake banana in a real peel,
01:45:43 and you saw it and you were like, "Oh, this looks like--"
01:45:45 I agree with you.
01:45:46 You've got to pay more attention to your food.
01:45:49 Also, I like this guy because he knows the art of comedy.
01:45:54 He knows that it's funny the first time,
01:45:57 then it's not funny for a really, really long time,
01:46:00 but it will get funny again.
01:46:01 It gets funnier the less funny that it gets, but he's still doing it.
01:46:05 Yeah, and it makes him laugh.
01:46:07 Isn't that like, what, are you going to stop him from finding joy?
01:46:12 I really think he got a 3D printer and he's just printing up fruit all day long,
01:46:16 which is awesome.
01:46:17 He could be printing guns.
01:46:18 Yeah, it's true.
01:46:19 So this is actually a good thing.
01:46:22 Is it illegal for guys to have hobbies anymore?
01:46:24 No, I mean, apparently it is.
01:46:26 Apparently it is.
01:46:27 I wouldn't do that with Hank except for weed.
01:46:29 This guy rocks.
01:46:30 Give him a bunch of fake nugs.
01:46:31 We could get Hank to--
01:46:32 Hank would just power through a fake chicken tender.
01:46:36 Yeah, Hank doesn't pay attention.
01:46:38 By the way, we tested some new stuff for Pardon My Cheese Steak.
01:46:41 You had to leave, you had to do your stream, but we have some new menu items
01:46:46 that are going to come out that are going to be incredible.
01:46:48 One of them was a buffalo chicken tender sub.
01:46:52 It had zero heat.
01:46:53 No, it's hot.
01:46:54 Hank--
01:46:55 No, I tried all these things.
01:46:56 Hank cried.
01:46:58 Yeah, he was--
01:46:59 He was like, "It's so hot."
01:47:00 It was not spicy at all.
01:47:01 And I had to tell the chef, I was like,
01:47:03 "He cannot be the person who decides whether something's spicy."
01:47:06 It was a perfectly normal buffalo sauce.
01:47:09 Yeah, perfect.
01:47:10 Hot.
01:47:11 Too hot.
01:47:12 My mouth is still recovering.
01:47:14 Still recovering.
01:47:15 How was golf today?
01:47:16 What did you guys shoot?
01:47:17 We played golf today.
01:47:18 Yeah, how did you shoot?
01:47:19 Yeah, shot--
01:47:20 In February in Chicago.
01:47:21 Played golf.
01:47:22 Yeah, but how did you guys shoot?
01:47:23 We played golf today.
01:47:24 So what was the score?
01:47:25 Shot a shot, shot another shot after.
01:47:26 Hundreds?
01:47:27 Oh, yeah.
01:47:28 Jake, what were the scores?
01:47:29 99 for me, 105 for Hank, 113 for PFT.
01:47:33 Okay, that's fine.
01:47:34 It was a tough day.
01:47:35 I had like four good shots.
01:47:36 That's fine.
01:47:37 I came to the realization today that, like I used to hate water on a golf course, now
01:47:41 I like water because at least it's not trees.
01:47:44 When you hit into the trees, then that might as well be a three-stroke penalty.
01:47:47 You gotta go fake look for it.
01:47:48 You gotta go fake look for it.
01:47:49 You just gotta just drop it.
01:47:50 Just be like, "Found it."
01:47:51 They also shut off the water fountains throughout the whole course.
01:47:54 Oh, yeah, 'cause it's February.
01:47:55 Almost passed out.
01:47:56 It was tough.
01:47:57 Well, they shut them off for the winter.
01:47:58 Yeah, but if the course is open, they should--
01:48:00 They don't just-- They're not like, "Oh, it's a warm day.
01:48:02 Let me turn it back on."
01:48:03 It's like--
01:48:04 I'm so pleased.
01:48:05 Yeah.
01:48:06 I'm so pleased.
01:48:07 You know who pees a lot on the golf course is Jake.
01:48:09 No duh.
01:48:10 Jake's a big peer.
01:48:11 No duh.
01:48:12 Like hole three.
01:48:13 Every three holes.
01:48:14 Wait, you're showing your penis outside?
01:48:15 There were some children.
