00:00 >> Here on the grid with Randall Burnett.
00:02 A strong showing for the 8 crew.
00:04 You battled a ton today.
00:05 Were you surprised by Atlanta motor speedway?
00:08 How the 8 crew ran and faced adversity and avoided all the messes out there today?
00:14 >> We had a little bit of an up and down day.
00:17 It was crazy out there.
00:18 Even the first stage, the spotter Derek up there, he was like, man, this is crazy already.
00:24 So it was a long race.
00:27 You know, we had a really fast Chevy Camaro the day.
00:31 Everybody at ECR and RCR did a great job bringing us fast stuff.
00:35 Two weeks in a row on the super speedway style track.
00:38 Really proud of that effort.
00:40 Came up 7,000ths of a second short.
00:43 7,000ths of a second.
00:44 And we finished third.
00:45 That will show you how tight things are.
00:48 Just really proud of everybody on this group.
00:50 Fought back from all the adversity today and got a good finish out of it at least.
00:54 >> We know Kyle can race anything, anywhere, any time of the day.
00:58 This track changed from day to night.
00:59 The handling was different.
01:00 The grip was different.
01:02 What information are you getting from your driver throughout the race and how do you
01:05 make changes on pit road?
01:07 >> We started off a little bit, you know, kind of really tight the first part of the
01:12 race.
01:13 We did some changes there.
01:14 We stayed out that first stage.
01:15 Kind of put ourselves at a deficit fuel wise to everybody else.
01:19 At the end of the first stage, some of them guys had pitted early in the caution and this,
01:23 that and the other.
01:24 We knew we were going to cycle to the back.
01:25 We were trying to get stage points but we knew we were going to cycle to the back because
01:28 of how the pit deal went.
01:30 We worked on the car a little bit for them.
01:32 Think we made it better.
01:33 Didn't really adjust on it much after that for the rest of the day.
01:36 Didn't really holler about a lot else.
01:38 Trying to give them information about what people are doing around them.
01:42 Where we're at on the fuel game.
01:44 That's always an issue.
01:46 Once we got good on it, we were able to go hard.
01:48 He did a great job.
01:50 Just driving back up there, putting himself in position.
01:52 That's what you got to do in these things.
01:54 Unfortunately it just didn't come our way today but we'll keep putting ourselves in
01:57 that position.
