Mississippi State is the winner of four straight and five of the last seven games in the SEC.
Transcript
00:00 Mississippi State is in the midst of possibly its best stretch of the season,
00:03 having won four SEC games in a row and five of their last seven.
00:06 The Bulldogs, fresh off of winning its rival Ole Miss on Wednesday,
00:10 take on LSU this Saturday at home in the hump and
00:12 are looking to win their fifth game in a row.
00:14 Despite a tough start to conference play,
00:16 the Bulldogs have steadily made their way up the leaderboard,
00:19 especially within the final stretch of the season.
00:21 Just last week, Mississippi State sat in 10th place in the SEC, but
00:24 heading into Saturday's matchup with the Tigers, the Bulldogs are strongly in 7th.
00:28 Just a game behind Kentucky and Florida at 5th and 6th.
00:31 LSU is coming off of probably its biggest win of the season,
00:33 having taken down Kentucky earlier this week.
00:36 And like Mississippi State,
00:37 is looking to close the conference schedule out strong in the final few games.
00:40 In the front court for the Tigers, senior seven footer Will Baker leads the team in
00:44 rebounds with over five per game, and Jalen Reed leads in blocks per game with one.
00:48 As for the backcourt, LSU's tandem of Jordan Wright and
00:51 Jalen Cook average nearly 30 points a game as a pair, and
00:53 are also the team's two leading stealers.
00:56 While Mississippi State has played well over this brief stretch,
00:58 LSU is coming off of beating one of the SEC's most talented teams, and
01:01 will likely give Chris Jans and the Bulldogs trouble on Saturday.
01:04 Bye.
