Two teenagers involved in the violent home invasion of rugby union great Toutai Kefu and his family have been sentenced over their roles in the attack. The criminal history of the boys was also revealed during the hearing, including that one of them was on bail at the time.

00:30 were outside the Coorparoo house while their friends were inside carrying out the stabbing
00:35 attack on Tottie, his wife and their two children.
00:38 But the group had just robbed another home and the pair knew the others were arming themselves
00:43 with a knife and a sickle.
00:45 It was revealed in court that the younger teen had been on bail at the time for similar
00:49 alleged offending and he was granted bail again in 2022 but less than five months later
00:55 he was back behind bars accused of more break and enters.
01:00 The older of the two had been subject to a probation order at the time after being sentenced
01:05 in June for burglary.
01:07 The sentencing judge held up pictures of the Keffoo's home and their injuries, calling
01:11 them some of the most awful photos I've ever seen.

01:22 Judge Dearden described the offending as awful, ghastly and dreadful and said the boys
01:27 had brought shame on their families and their community.
01:31 Mrs Keffoo was too distressed to pen her victim impact statement with the court hearing the
01:36 whole youth justice process had left her and her family drained.
01:41 The remaining two boys who have also pleaded guilty over the physical attack will be sentenced
01:46 in May.
