Drivers are being warned to expect disruption as work continues on major improvements to the Stockbury Roundabout

00:12 So yeah, it's going to be closed for a period of five weeks, aiming to open it on the Easter

00:18 weekend. It's necessary that we have to do this due to the nature of the work that we're doing, so

00:25 we're having to reconstruct the carriageway, do a lot of drainage works, work some central

00:31 reservation and reconstruct the entire road on top of the existing carriageway, which is why

00:38 it's really difficult or next to impossible to be able to do that without having to do a closure

00:43 of this scale. We always try and find the right balance between the disruption to our customers,

00:49 so that's both people that travel through the junction but also the local communities,

00:55 with the fact that we obviously have to deliver a project efficiently with taxpayers' money and be

01:00 conscious of that. And then there's sometimes there are situations that kind of dictate a lot

01:04 of what you have to do, so like I said, in this situation, due to the nature of the work, it means

01:09 that there is very little alternative what we have to do, so then we have to find a way to do it in a

01:15 way that will cause the least disruption.
