00:33 This is the first time that Hog Racer will try

00:39 which will also be distributed to the people who will come to the festival.

00:42 Because of the African swine fever, the industry is ruined.

01:03 The purpose of this is to ensure the safety of the consumers

01:06 by preparing food in a clean and orderly manner.

01:11 The restaurants should also know about food safety and sanitation

01:25 are safe and locally sourced and ASF-free.

01:37 the high production costs are still a challenge.

01:41 The inputs that we call feeds, vaccines, transportation,

01:48 everything has increased, especially the rice.

01:52 Actually from P16 to P15 last 2018,

01:58 now it's P20 to P25.

02:02 The effect of this is felt in the high price of pork in the market.

02:06 Here in the Litex Market in Quezon City,

02:08 the price of 1 kilo of cassava is P330,

02:11 while the price of pork belly is P350.

02:14 But in the latest price monitoring of the Department of Agriculture,

02:17 the price of pork belly has gone up to P400

02:20 in some markets in Metro Manila.

02:22 But according to the Association of Industrial Agriculture,

02:25 the price of cassava should be P280 to P300,

02:30 while the price of pork belly is P350.

02:33 The farm gate is at P200,

02:34 so I hope the retail price is at P350 maximum.

02:39 We are coordinating with the Department of Agriculture

02:42 on how to lower the price because the farm gate is at P200.

02:45 We have a problem with the logistics and the value chain of agricultural products,

02:51 not just pork, but also chicken and rice.

02:54 We are still trying to get the statement of the Department of Agriculture.
