Inspired by a recent conversation with his sister on country music's origin in the blues, Frederick Anderson examined the two music genres' differences and similarities to design his Fall 2024 line. His luxurious collection expresses the blues through his lens of living in New York City in the 90s. The silhouettes are a little more lose and free, sitting away from the body, with fabrics ranging from satin to crochet and some looks giving 'a little bit of a Joan Jett' feel which is complimented by the models in rock and roll shag wigs and punky makeup.

00:00 Hello, it's Frederick Anderson and you're watching Life Minute TV.
00:04 I'm here for Fashion Week and I heard this is the one that I had needed to come to and see.
00:12 I'm just excited to see it. I feel like this is going to be the highlight of the week.
00:16 Frederick, his family, I'm really excited for him. I can't wait to see what he does.
00:21 I always love the quality and the silhouettes and we think it's just so amazing. I'm really a fan.
00:27 It's always surprising. As you know, at Frederick Anderson, we like to bring a little drama, a little beauty and some beautiful clothes.
00:33 My sister and I had this conversation. We started talking about the idea of the blues and how the blues inspired country music.
00:38 And my reference of the blues is when I moved to New York in the 90s.
00:41 There's a little bit of Joan Jett, 90s in there. How fabulous to think about the time of finding beauty in the time of the blues.
00:47 Silhouettes a little bit away from the body.
00:50 And fabrics are always in Joanna. The satins and all of those textures.
00:56 Crochets are done in Argentina. I love the idea that we have luxury in America.
01:00 So many people stepped away from it. I double down.
01:03 Very rock and roll, very distressed textured layered hair.
01:08 I think it plays really well as Joan. This is the look for spring/summer.
01:13 The look backstage at Frederick today is very grungy and punk.
01:17 We took a lot of influences of the 90s, but also a little bit from the 30s in the shape of the eye.
01:21 We're using lots of reds and blacks around the eye. The skin's a little pouted out.
01:26 And a little bit of a cherry bitten lip. It's very rock and roll.
