00:00 Yeah, it was a great day out there, obviously.
00:02 We'll come there with a win.
00:03 Brady was pitching his butt off for us.
00:04 So the defense is going to make as many plays
00:06 as we can behind him.
00:08 And just able to put the barrel on the ball today
00:10 and good things happened.
00:13 Ty, could you walk us through the catch?
00:14 What did you see and how would you grade that?
00:16 I mean, is that one of your better catches
00:17 you made in college?
00:18 Yeah, I think it was certainly one of the better ones
00:21 I can remember, at least.
00:22 I know the pitch probably wasn't where Brady wanted it to be,
00:24 but they're in a pull side gap.
00:26 And Edmondson had great communication.
00:28 He let me know where I was at with the wall
00:30 and able to time it up well and make a play.
00:33 Brady, how did you assess your start today?
00:37 It didn't really, my body didn't feel great,
00:39 but I still got the results that I was looking for,
00:43 so I think it's going to help me down the road.
00:46 Yeah, question for Ryder.
00:47 Dave just talked up your framing and you hit home run today.
00:51 So what was it like for you on your birthday today?
00:54 I'd say it went really well.
00:55 So, I mean, obviously coming here,
00:57 we were working on catching, and that's obviously
01:00 one part of my game that I feel like has gotten
01:01 a lot better since getting here.
01:02 So, excited about that.
01:04 I caught well, and then, I mean, the home run was just,
01:06 it was a good swing on a good pitch.
01:07 But, I mean, obviously catching Brady,
01:10 it's you just learn from him
01:11 and learn from what he has to teach and say.
01:13 And you just, you kind of let him take the control on it.
01:17 So.
01:18 For any of you, were you all aware
01:21 there was a run rule today?
01:22 Because it looked like a little bit of a delayed celebration.
01:25 I had no idea.
01:26 I'm glad it was, I mean, it was cool.
01:29 It's coming with us.
01:30 You play till the whistle's blowing.
01:32 So we're gonna play as hard as we can
01:33 till they tell us to stop.
01:35 Ryder, thoughts on Cody Frank,
01:37 the way that he finished out the game?
01:39 I mean, yeah, it was awesome.
01:41 He just came out there, he pitched well.
01:42 He threw all his pitches for a strike, really.
01:44 Like, I think a lot, every single batter
01:47 he started off with a strike.
01:48 And it was fun to catch, just kind of throwing
01:50 whatever he wanted, wherever he wanted.
01:52 And he got hitters out by doing that, so, yeah.
01:55 And Bray, BVH has said that Jared Sprague-Lott
01:58 is as good of a fielder as anybody.
02:00 I mean, thoughts on him, 'cause he's made
02:02 some really incredible plays the past two days.
02:04 Yeah, absolutely.
02:05 I mean, he helped us out big time
02:07 with the runner caught stealing, trying to go to third.
02:11 I mean, he made a great catch and tag on that.
02:13 It's a lot harder to do than it seems.
02:15 Yeah, I see his name in the lineup, I'm confident.
02:18 Ty, you had five RBIs on the day.
02:21 That is a career high for you,
02:22 most since May 4th of 2023.
02:24 Just take me on what was going through your mind
02:28 in your performance, and if it was coming to your mind
02:31 that you had five runs batted in on the day.
02:33 Yeah, it just kind of accumulates on you.
02:35 I wouldn't say there was necessarily one thing
02:37 to point to that attributed to the success,
02:40 but just staying simple with my swing,
02:41 not trying to do too much.
02:42 I kind of fell in that hole yesterday,
02:44 trying to get big with my swing,
02:45 but just keep it simple today, and good things happened.
02:48 I forget the inning, I think it might have been the sixth.
02:51 They scored four runs, and it's seven to five.
02:54 And then you answer with a bunch of runs
02:56 in the bottom of the inning.
02:58 Just how key did you feel like that was to the outcome?
03:01 Yeah, it's a sign of a great team right there,
03:03 able to respond after they hang a few runs on us there.
03:06 Just kind of stop their momentum
03:07 and swing it back in our direction
03:08 is, I mean, obviously huge for the game,
03:10 and it's a sign of a great team right there.
03:12 For Brady and Ryder, I wonder what you thought
03:18 of Ty's catch at the center field wall.
03:20 Oh, man, that was big, Ty, dude.
03:23 Man, I was right at my pitch limit, too,
03:24 so that was probably my last pitch regardless,
03:27 and I really didn't want to get taken out of the game
03:29 after a home run.
03:31 So, yeah, I was really excited about that.
03:34 I mean, I had the best view of it,
03:36 I feel like, just the whole entire field.
03:38 And just getting to watch him just track it down
03:40 and make the catch, I was like, "Hole."
03:42 It was big, so.
03:43 Yeah, Ryder, you're in the capture room
03:46 with three other guys who have a lot of experience.
03:48 How does that help you transition from high school
03:50 to playing at Arkansas?
03:53 I mean, every day you just talk with them
03:55 and you find out what they think, how they catch,
03:58 especially coming from high school to here
04:00 where every pitcher throws hard,
04:01 every pitcher's a little bit different.
04:03 You definitely learn a lot from them from that.
04:05 So, I think, yeah, it's just picking their brains
04:08 the most part, just figuring out
04:10 what made them successful in the past
04:12 and why they're doing so good now, so yeah.
04:15 And Ty, for you, coming from Missouri,
04:17 the transition obviously must be interesting
04:19 going from one rival school to another.
04:22 What's that been like for you,
04:23 and how nice is it to be out here
04:24 in front of the fans at Bob Walker?
04:26 Yeah, obviously the stadium, the fans are great.
04:28 The fans feed off the team, the team feeds off the fans,
04:30 and it's a great atmosphere.
04:31 It's a fun place to play for sure.
04:34 Thanks, guys.
04:35 Ty, you mentioned earlier kind of the communication
04:37 amongst the outfielders.
04:38 Just transferring and working
04:40 with the whole new cast outfielders, how's that going?
04:42 And how have y'all been able
04:44 to kind of gel together defensively?
04:46 Yeah, the outfield room's been fantastic.
04:49 We've got a lot of great defenders out there.
04:51 Obviously we can swing it pretty well too,
04:52 but just daily reps out there with Coach Thompson
04:55 and communicating on fly balls,
04:58 especially with the wind out there the last few days,
04:59 hasn't been the easiest to deal with,
05:01 but we have that trust in each other
05:03 and we know we can make plays.
05:04 Ty, I think you were on first
05:07 whenever Hudson hit the double to the corner.
05:09 Was there any doubt in your mind
05:10 that you were gonna be able to score on that play?
05:11 No, I knew right off the bat
05:13 the ball was gonna be bounced around the corner down there.
05:14 I was burning the whole way.
