00:00 So we're at Burrstone here in Battle, we're at the Granary sale room and we're going to
00:06 have a sale on the 15th of March which will be a natural history, curiosities and a macabre
00:15 type sale.
00:17 We've collected various bits over the last two or three months to go in the sale.
00:22 The style of the show will be an entomology collection from a local gentleman by the name
00:27 of George West.
00:29 There's a huge amount of his personal material and books that he used for his studies and
00:37 then a huge array of slides.
00:39 You've got various geology slides and then moving on to the entomology side of it as
00:44 well.
00:45 It's a huge, it's a fantastic collection and that will ultimately be the style of the show.
00:49 There's some very rare items and rare books and some rare slides in there.
00:54 Following on from that we've generated a huge array of taxidermy items to be included in
01:00 the sale as well.
01:01 You've got various, you've got the peacock here, you've got the usual foxes, you've got
01:05 a couple of dogs, all things like that.
01:08 And again then following on from the natural history side we've got a larger collection
01:14 of ammonites and those sort of items.
01:17 And then again we wanted it to be a little bit different also so we wanted to have a
01:20 few more macabre items, slightly different items and one of those is this head here.
01:26 It's Edward Mordrake.
01:29 The gentleman, he's an urban legend really, an American urban legend.
01:35 He led a bit of a troubled life.
01:37 Legend has it that he was born with a second head, ironically a female head, on the back
01:44 of his head.
01:45 And this head allegedly whispered various demonic thoughts to him over his troubled
01:51 years and sadly culminated in him taking his own life at the ripe old age of just 23.
01:59 Again it's very much an urban legend but this is a model done by a local artist that he's
02:06 consigned to us for us to sell in a sale.
02:10 And feedback has been, I would expect this to do quite well as well.
02:14 So that's the type of stuff that we've been collecting.
02:17 So it'd be between I think around 250-300 lots in the sale.
02:23 So there's something for everybody as well.
02:25 So there's larger end items and there's also some very small, we've got sharks teeth and
02:30 things like that.
02:31 There'll be something for everybody and hopefully it'll be a very enjoyable day.
