00:00 In overseas travel, authorities are avoiding e-travel websites that are being banned.
00:06 That's a lie because legit websites are free.
00:10 Witness, Salima Refran.
00:13 From the Immigration Arrival Card, Customs Declaration,
00:20 until the Bureau of Quarantine Health Declaration,
00:22 everyone can access the Philippine Travel Information System
00:26 or e-travel website that was created to be the only system
00:31 to provide information to all Philippine passengers.
00:35 But, even that is now being used for fraud.
00:40 According to the Bureau of Immigration,
00:42 there are some e-travel websites that are being used by victims
00:46 and are being used by Philippine passengers.
00:50 The system is that these e-travel websites are being used by the government
00:56 and are being charged from P3,000 to P5,000.
01:02 The prices are different.
01:03 These e-travel websites are being charged as much as P100.
01:08 The information is being obtained by the individuals who are writing here.
01:14 But the BI said that there is no need to pay for the government's e-travel website.
01:20 E-travel is free.
01:23 It is free on the government website.
01:25 If they see that these websites are being used,
01:29 we will have doubts.
01:30 This is one of the few e-travel websites that the Bureau of Immigration is aware of.
01:35 You will be asked for sensitive information here,
01:38 such as your full name, birthday, and passport number.
01:43 On this website, you will be charged P52,000 or almost P3,000
01:49 for an e-travel pass that has no payment.
01:53 Eight websites have been targeted and investigated by the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center or CICC.
02:01 It is also being investigated if these websites are being used by Filipinos or Banyagas.
02:06 They are based in the country's outside.
02:13 One is in Spain.
02:16 We're doing efforts to block them so that they cannot reach the inbound Filipinos.
02:25 Our objective now is to make a formal complaint to the platform where they are hosted.
02:34 The CICC's advice is to be careful.
02:37 Make sure that the website is correct and that it is an official portal.
02:41 They should visit the official website.
02:44 Don't just type it in Google search.
02:48 The first one that comes up should always have .gov.ph.
02:52 For more information about e-travel websites and other cybercrimes,
02:57 you can contact the CICC.
