00:13 Matthew Betts is a prolific pass rusher. You look at the Detroit Lions and what do they need help in moving forward?

00:23 Rushing the passer and you look at Betts who recorded 18 sacks last season playing in 18 games for the BC Lions

00:29 You look at a player that many people have a tremendous amount of respect for was voted the most

00:36 Outstanding defensive player for his performance you recognize now that this is a player that's been in the CFL since 2019

00:45 2019 with the Bears but didn't end up making their roster

00:49 So for the Detroit Lions you recognize they're willing to search everywhere to try and upgrade that defense

00:56 You know most notably you recognize that Aiden Hutchinson is a player that can regularly record double-digit sacks

01:02 But for him to have the most impact you need players surrounding him next year in

01:08 2024 the expectation is going to be that James Houston is going to stay healthy and emerge and now you have competition and that's what

01:16 The Detroit Lions are all about so bringing in bets should provide a lot of competition

01:20 For the past rushers and you look at a defensive line that's going to be retooled a little bit

01:25 You recognize that hey if you can find a diamond in the rough in a player that shined in the CFL

01:35 I know everybody wants the new shiny free agent that's going to cost a significant amount

01:41 They're more of a draft and develop team and if they can find diamonds in the rough hungry players that maybe just need that opportunity
