00:28 In the midst of a fierce local scarbor shows in Sambalas, the fishermen were fishing for weeks and months.
00:35 The fishermen were happy when they found out that they were being traded by a Chinese boat,
00:40 a Philippine Coast Guard boat that will be delivering groceries to them.
00:44 When I saw the Philippine Coast Guard, I was really shocked.
00:49 It was simply happy that there's someone who will be my companion.
00:53 But after the aid was distributed, the Philippine Coast Guard was attacked by the Chinese Coast Guard.
00:58 Not only was it attacked and simply blocked,
01:01 but a Chinese boat also crossed in front of the BRP Teresa Magbanwa.
01:06 At one point, it almost got close to the BRP Teresa Magbanwa.
01:10 The action was against the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea or Colreg.
01:15 There's another Chinese boat that was anchored in the mouth of the Bajo de Mocinloc.
01:19 There's no new statement from China, but what it used to say was that our government made a mistake.
01:25 The Chinese government said that it has sovereignty over the Bajo de Mocinloc and that it's illegal for a Philippine boat to enter the sea.
01:31 We should be able to see the waves during high tide within 200 nautical miles or 370 kilometers from our coast.
01:40 That's part of our exclusive economic zone. That's what we call the West Philippine Sea.
01:46 For the National Task Force on the West Philippine Sea,
01:49 it's important to show the public through the Transparency Initiative what's happening in the West Philippine Sea
01:56 so that the misinformation about this can be corrected.
02:00 Despite the Philippine-China agreement in Shanghai this January,
02:04 tensions in the West Philippine Sea have been lowered.
02:07 For a maritime security expert, even if there's such an agreement,
02:11 the Philippines should not abandon its efforts to show what China is doing.
02:15 And in those discussions, if China says to you, "We don't like the pictures. We think the pictures are creating problems for us,"
02:25 on one hand, you can think, "Okay, well, maybe we can talk about that."
02:29 But on the other hand, you want to think, "Those pictures give the Philippines leverage."
02:32 You always have to measure China's words by its actions.
02:35 The task force is just part of the continuing engagement with China. It's part of the diplomatic track.
02:43 No, definitely not. You know this is a measure of transparency.
02:47 At the end of the day, it's always about the national interest.
02:50 For GMA Integrated News, Joseph Morong is your witness.
02:54 After the rising prices of oil, rollback will be carried out tomorrow.
03:02 60 cents will be cut from the price of a liter of gasoline, 10 cents from diesel and 40 cents from kerosene.
03:11 This is the second time that the so-called products are rolling back this year.
03:16 DOE said that it is a result of the rise in U.S. oil production and the slowdown of demand in oil.
03:24 President Baobab Marcos and Vice President Sara Duterte have no problems with each other.
03:31 According to the vice president when she arrived in Malaysia earlier.
03:39 Oh, we have no problem with each other. President Bongbong Marcos and I are doing good.
03:49 We are okay in terms of our relationship, both personal and working relationship.
03:55 The Vice President did not comment on her relationship with First Lady Lisa Araneta Marcos.
04:01 According to Vice President Sara Duterte, she has not talked about the former President Rodrigo Duterte and the siblings
04:09 regarding their relationship with President Marcos.
04:12 She also did not comment on the question about the planned separation of Mindanao that her father is pushing.
04:18 Vice President Sara is the Malaysian Education Minister.
04:24 She is now a part of her duties as the President of the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization.
04:29 The Vice President also has a courtesy call with the Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia.
04:34 The time is running out to amend the economic provisions of the 1987 Constitution according to some congressmen.
04:43 But in the Senate's resolution, the amendment is being advanced by a retired magistrate.
04:51 The law should not be changed.
04:54 I am Ian Cruz.
04:56 There are laws that were passed to open the economy to 100% foreign ownership.
05:04 That is what retired Senior Associate Justice Antonio Carpio said.
05:08 That is why the amendment of the law should not be amended.
05:11 There appears to be a lack of understanding by our national leaders of the extent of foreign ownership under the law of businesses in our country.
05:20 Among the laws he mentioned are the Retail Trade Liberalization Act and the Public Services Act that is being questioned by the Supreme Court according to the Constitution.
05:29 The law does not prohibit foreign investment, nor the expensive currency.
05:37 The regulations are difficult just like the amount of permits and improper infrastructure and transportation.
05:44 We are open to foreign investors.
05:48 We have made great strides in the past years liberalizing our economy without compromising our national security or leaving behind Filipino businesses.
05:59 Yet one of the framers of the 1987 Constitution should prioritize poverty.
06:05 We do not need to amend the Constitution.
06:08 We should have a single-minded focus on the scandal that we have 21% of our population living in dehumanizing poverty.
06:17 All of our neighbors in Southeast Asia have single-digit poverty incidence.
06:22 But despite the DTI, the regulations still restrict foreign investment.
06:27 There is a negative correlation between FDI performance and these regulatory restrictions.
06:35 And of course the more open you are, the higher the FDI inflows.
06:42 According to the Camera, the time that the resolution of both houses of the Senate has passed, they can now proceed with it.
06:48 There is no more time to implement changes to economic provisions.
06:53 The Constituent Assembly is still in the process of considering changes before it is endorsed by the Comileg in the upcoming plebiscite.
07:01 We need to do this now and we can't waste time when it comes to amending our Constitution.
07:08 After the Senate acts and the House will meet, and assuming we agree in everything, you're still talking about plebiscite?
07:18 You're talking about 2027 and 2028.
07:22 And we all know by 2027-2028, everybody is preparing for the presidential elections again.
07:29 The People's Initiative was stopped, so the Camera and the Senate should also stop.
07:35 Although we have some disagreements with respect to the urgency or the deadlines, but at least we can now have the poison in the atmosphere is no longer there.
07:53 We will stick to healthy and democratic debate.
07:58 For GMA Integrated News, Ian Cruz is your witness.
08:04 The exhibits are dedicated to the works of an artist with autism.
08:08 And the fund will be used to help children with special needs.
08:13 Our witness is Jamie Santos.
08:15 Colorful, detailed, and beautiful.
08:21 These are the works of Nina Bantoto for her second solo exhibit, Enter the Dragon.
08:27 It includes 12 Chinese zodiac signs, one of her favorites.
08:33 Nina worked for five months for this.
08:36 I like painting and drawing at the same time while listening to music.
08:40 I felt happy during my second exhibit.
08:43 Wow, super proud.
08:45 I still remember when Nina was small, she could not speak, she could not look me in the eye, she was quiet.
08:56 And now from that day in 1996 until now, this year, if you see Nina, very vibrant, very joyful, very friendly, very heartwarming.
09:10 Nina is only three years old when she was diagnosed with autism.
09:14 She had a hard time speaking when she was small until they found interest in painting.
09:20 Nina has done many exhibits in the United Nations and Philippine Consulates in New York and Macau.
09:26 She loves painting using acrylic paint, watercolor, charcoal, and colored pencils.
09:32 And now, she is also making digital art.
09:35 We're really into paying it forward.
09:38 So her first exhibit five years ago, the beneficiary is Reach Foundation.
09:43 So this, we help parents with special needs in depressed areas.
09:48 We are grateful because the proceeds will be used to help the Reach Foundation, which is a non-stock, non-profit organization,
09:58 set up community-based rehabilitation programs in depressed and far-flung areas.
10:04 Until February 15, Enter the Dragon exhibit will be held at Gallery Joaquin, at Podium Mall in Ortigas Center, Mandaluyong City.
10:13 For Jimmy Integrated News, Jamie Santos is your witness.
10:18 King of Talkboy, Abunda, gave his statement after the joint statement of Bea Alonzo and Dominic Roque,
10:30 that some people confirmed their breakup without any hesitation.
10:34 Here is Nelson Carlas' showbiz witness.
10:41 Yes, Dominic and Bea broke up.
10:44 After a few days of talking, Bea Alonzo and Dominic Roque confirmed that they agreed not to continue their marriage.
10:54 The decision was not easy.
10:56 They wanted more time to think and discuss, but there were a lot of widespread speculations, questions, and even insults.
11:07 Some also confirmed that they broke up without their consent or permission.
11:13 Others even said baseless and false things, so they spoke for their peace of mind.
11:21 We heard the reaction of Boy Abunda, one of the last to report a breakup based on his source,
11:28 who was also called to be careful of speculations.
11:32 He said that it was in accordance with the joint statement of Bea and Dominic.
11:37 There is a reason to react to the statement, but I'm not going to do that now.
11:42 Because I realize that people involved in this controversy are going through pain.
11:52 It's painful to be separated. It's painful to be in that situation.
12:00 Even pain deserves respect.
12:03 And I choose to be quiet.
12:07 Kuya Boy said that after renewing his contract with the GMA Network after a year of heartbreak.
12:15 He was led by GMA Chairman Atty. Felipe Gozon, President and CEO Gilberto Duavet Jr.,
12:23 EVP and CFO Felipe Yalong, and SVP for Entertainment Group Lilibet Razonable.
12:30 We are happy that he renewed his contract with us.
12:34 And I saw the respect he received from the artists, not only from GMA, but also from other channels.
12:44 It's heart-warming to see the ratings.
12:49 It's a proof that with Boy, the answer is yes.
12:54 We look forward to many more years. We are thankful to Boy for his trust.
12:59 GMA SVP Atty. Annette Gozon Valdez and other officials of Kapuso Network also arrived.
13:06 The artists of SPARKLE are getting closer to people because they can see who they are.
13:12 What is interesting to them.
13:16 The things that they don't know, they are able to show in a way that is fun.
13:21 We're very happy with the performance of FASTO.
13:24 We're very, very happy that Kuya Boy is still a Kapuso.
13:29 What kept me going from the very beginning was my unflinching belief in the power of the interview.
13:38 I learned a lot. How can I encourage my mom, dad, and Kapuso to watch and have something new to watch.
13:49 For GMA Integrated News, Nelson Canlas is your witness.
14:01 The 2024 NFL Super Bowl is on the top of the town because of the sweet victory of the Chiefs.
14:08 Taylor Swift and Travis Kelsey also had a sweet kiss.
14:12 Beyonce surprised her fans by releasing a new single.
14:18 Our witness.
14:19 Back to Back Champs. The Kansas City Chiefs won the Super Bowl after breaking the score of 25-22.
14:27 Their match against the San Francisco 49ers was breathtaking.
14:32 They extended to overtime.
14:33 This was their third championship win in five years.
14:37 The excitement was extended because of "Karma is the guy on the Chiefs".
14:41 "Coming straight home to me" moment of Taylor Swift and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelsey.
14:47 They shared a sweet kiss after the victory.
14:50 Even though he came from Japan, he led his era's tour.
14:53 Taylor's support was all out while on the bleachers.
14:57 He was with Blake Lively and Ice Pies.
15:00 The half-time performance of the 8-time Grammy winner Usher was filled with nostalgia.
15:06 Aside from his hits like "Yeah" and "Confessions",
15:10 Usher and Alicia Keys performed "My Boo" which was released two decades ago.
15:15 Some other artists also had a special appearance like Will.i.am and Pil-Am singer Her.
15:22 He didn't end the surprises because during the Super Bowl,
15:25 there was an ad announcing Beyoncé's upcoming album "Act 2".
15:30 But before that, he released his two new singles "Texas Hold 'Em" and "16 Carriages".
15:37 This was another surprise announcement from Nick Carter, a Backstreet Boys member.
15:43 He will return to the Philippines for his solo concert in Manila and Cebu, Samayo.
15:48 He will be a part of his Who I Am 2024 World Tour.
15:52 For GMA Integrated News, I'm Nelson Canlas, your witness.
15:57 The new chairman and chief executive officer or CEO of the multinational consumer goods firm Unilever Philippines,

16:36 Thank you, Igan, for your witness. I'm Arnold Clavio.
16:40 I'm PR Kanghel for a bigger mission and a wider service to the country.
