00:30 Hello, I'm Nika Otto.
00:35 Wow!
00:36 I'm Jovin Tenor.
00:41 Hello, I'm Enzo Bass.
00:46 And I'm Val, vocal percussionist.
00:49 [drums]
00:51 Can you tell us how you formed the group?
00:55 It started in 2016.
00:59 We were classmates in the College of Music.
01:02 Sometimes, there were workshops around so we attended those.
01:06 We watched a cappella groups.
01:09 From there, we were inspired.
01:12 When we returned to college, we started jamming.
01:16 We said, "Let's make harmonies."
01:19 We covered.
01:20 Then after that, that's where it started.
01:22 What does a cappella mean?
01:25 A cappella, a cappella singing, or a cappella music,
01:29 to put it simply, it's like we're making music without any musical instrument.
01:36 So, we just use our voices.
01:38 We can also use our bodies.
01:40 Your name is Concords.
01:41 How did you come up with that name?
01:44 Why did you choose that?
01:45 We saw the word "concord" in the dictionary,
01:51 which means harmony.
01:52 That's what binds our music.
01:56 We put an "h" in the word "concord" to match the music.
02:03 Pretty.
02:05 Nice.
02:06 You were introducing your voices earlier.
02:08 Your voices have different tones.
02:10 Did you learn that from the keyboard?
02:12 Yes.
02:13 I knew it.
02:14 You're really good.
02:15 We're good.
02:16 We have a keyboard.
02:17 I have an idea.
02:19 Can I play a note?
02:21 Can you imitate the note?
02:22 Can I?
02:23 Okay.
02:24 Let's try.
02:25 I want to hear him play.
02:27 I want to hear it.
02:28 Ready?
02:29 C.
02:30 [singing]
02:50 [applause]
02:53 There are many types of classification of voices
02:56 according to Yale University Library of America.
02:59 The soprano or high voice for girls
03:02 is from the middle C key or C4 to A5.
03:08 The mezzo-soprano or medium voice for girls
03:11 is from A3 to F5.
03:15 And the alto or low voice for girls
03:17 is from F3 to D5.
03:21 For men,
03:23 the tenor or high voice for boys
03:26 is from B2 to G4.
03:30 The baritone or medium voice for boys
03:34 is from G2 to E4.
03:37 And the bass or low voice for boys
03:40 is from E2 to C4.
03:44 Even though the tones of the voices of people are different,
03:47 there is logic or system here.
03:49 They have the same keyboard or keys
03:52 as the keyboard or piano.
03:54 And that is the music lesson with science, I believe.
