00:00 Here are five reasons I would definitely want to see you as a GP.
00:05 Number one, if you've had an unexplained cough.
00:07 Here are five reasons I would definitely want to see you as a GP.
00:11 Number one, if you've had an unexplained cough for three weeks or more,
00:15 especially if you're a smoker.
00:17 It may be nothing to worry about, but this is one of the commonest ways lung cancer can present,
00:21 and you may need a chest x-ray or scan.
00:24 Number two, if you're 55 years old or over and have new unexplained symptoms of acid reflux.
00:31 Again, there are lots of other explanations for this,
00:34 but we need to make sure we're not missing a stomach or food pipe cancer.
00:38 Number three, if you've been through the menopause and not had a period for a year or more,
00:43 but then have a vaginal bleed.
00:45 It doesn't matter how small it is, we need to get it investigated.
00:49 Number four, if you've noticed any unexplained blood in your urine,
00:54 particularly if it was not painful in any way when you passed it.
00:59 It doesn't matter if it only happened once and it's all clear now, we need to get it looked into.
01:04 And number five, if you have a mole on your skin that is new or has changed,
01:09 it's getting bigger, feels itchier, bleeding, or simply looks or feels different, get that looked at too.
01:15 Now, chances are these things are nothing to worry about, but let us be the judges of that.
01:20 There are other things as well and I'll come to them later.
01:23 later.
