00:00 Our top story tonight though is taking us to winter storm that's on the move and set to bring heavy snow to parts of the country.
00:07 States like Utah and Arizona are seeing that snowfall right now.
00:11 And that same storm is set to bring snow, rain and even severe weather to parts of the south this weekend,
00:17 then accumulating snow to the eastern U.S. next week.
00:22 So we've got a lot to talk about here as we continue to deal with the messy weather across the western U.S.
00:30 It seems to be a pattern that just doesn't want to break down too much.
00:34 So keep the snow shovels handy because we're not finished with winter just yet.
00:38 Opening up the big board, you can see a lot of action going on, particularly in the western U.S.
00:43 Lots of snow reports coming through anywhere from southern California right into the Four Corners.
00:49 Ultimately though, the current storm system is a little bit more through the interior.
00:53 And if I swing this over far enough, we will find it here into the Four Corners.
00:58 You can see actually a little bit more moisture there through Las Vegas, Arizona,
01:02 and that's where we're picking up on some of those showers.
01:05 Now, Saturday, the storm system is on the move.
01:07 It's working its way east, and as it does so, it has some snow on the backside,
01:11 some stormy weather on the front side unfolding.
01:15 But the snow will actually top 3 to 6 inches in parts of the Texas Panhandle.
01:20 Denver, you're looking at 3 plus inches of snow from the storm system.
01:24 It really is kind of starting to unfold throughout Saturday,
01:27 and it does linger into Saturday night there in Denver.
01:30 Other places, we'll see it break out across the plains, and it just creates a mess of things in a place like Amarillo.
01:35 6 to 10 inches of snowfall with your AccuWeather Wintercast.
01:39 So you do definitely want to keep an eye on this storm
01:42 as it's going to continue to dump that snow through a good chunk of the weekend.
01:45 This is going to start Saturday late and then continue through the day on Sunday.
01:50 Very messy, unfortunately, for parts of the Texas Panhandle.
01:53 But that's not the only spot we're talking about the risk for active weather in Texas.
01:57 Farther south, there is going to be the risk for severe weather.
02:00 This is Saturday night.
02:01 We start to see some of those thunderstorms blossom, and it will be late overnight.
02:05 It could even be near and after midnight as we watch these thunderstorms unfold.
02:10 Then beyond that, this storm is on the move.
02:12 It's going to push its way to the northeast, and while it does so,
02:16 it has active weather on the south and snow on the northern side.
02:20 So we still have a lot more to talk about because there's another threat for severe weather Sunday into Sunday night,
02:25 this one including many of the Gulf Coast states from Texas to Louisiana into Alabama and Florida.
02:30 But if you start this storm system in the west, you can see some of that snow starting to gear up here across the four corners.
02:36 And then as this slides its way on south and east, it's going to start to generate more snow into New Mexico.
02:43 And finally, we see the storm system eject into the plains as we head through Saturday night.
02:48 That's when we start to get more of that snow into the Texas Panhandle, Oklahoma Panhandle.
02:52 Heavy rainfall, the risk for severe thunderstorms becomes a bit more prominent throughout the south
02:57 as we get into Sunday afternoon and Sunday evening.
03:00 And as this storm system continues to push its way east, plenty of wet weather on the southern side of it.
03:05 So we will have two to four inches of rainfall through a good chunk of the south from east Texas into parts of southwestern Virginia.
03:13 And that's going to create maybe some localized flooding on the northern side.
03:17 We still have the snow to contend with three plus inches, not too far away from Tulsa, Springfield, Missouri,
03:23 looking at one to three inches. And then the storm is on the move into Monday and Monday night where it finds some cold air.
03:29 And we'll be talking snow on the northern side.
03:32 You can find it there across Pennsylvania and New York, working its way through Boston.
03:36 And just a quick peek at those totals, it's three to six inches in Boston.
03:40 Places like Scranton, Pennsylvania, you'll be on the six inch line.
