Philadelphia Eagles GN Howie Roseman discusses LBs, including Zach Cunningham and Nakobe Dean
Transcript
00:00 Yeah, I think you don't want, I feel like we've had a long history of success here,
00:06 building the team a certain way.
00:08 And I think maybe there's some preconceived notions that we're just at the linebacker
00:14 position, that we don't care who we play at linebacker.
00:16 And again, our two Super Bowl teams over the last six years, the linebacker play was good
00:22 from those guys.
00:23 And I think, if anything, it's my belief in the players that we have, the young players
00:27 that we have.
00:28 I have a lot of belief, and I know Coach does as well, and N'Kobe Dean.
00:32 And so I believe in the player, I believe in the person.
00:36 We lost two linebackers at that spot, two good players from our Super Bowl team.
00:43 And we had N'Kobe Wade in the wings, we drafted him for that role.
00:45 Obviously, it didn't work out perfectly for him this year.
00:48 That doesn't change the belief we have in the player.
00:52 And then we felt like we'd have the ability to get an off-ball linebacker, a will linebacker,
00:58 who can run and hit.
00:59 And honestly, when you watch the tape, Zach Cunningham had a good year.
01:02 He really did.
01:03 And he had a mentality that we liked from that position.
01:07 Of course, we missed some of the guys that left as free agents.
01:11 Missed some of the guys on and off the field that we had strong relationships with.
