Taib is back home, says Sarawak top cop

Sarawak police have confirmed that former Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Abdul Taib Mahmud is back home.  State police commissioner Comm Datuk Mancha Ata told reporters on Wednesday (Feb 7) that police had received eight reports as of Tuesday relating to Taib's alleged removal from a private hospital in Kuching on Saturday, adding that some of the reports were lodged by the former governor's family members but declined to elaborate. 01:12 The police report, which circulated on social media, alleged that Raghad took Taib out of

01:17 the hospital against medical advice close to midnight on Saturday.

01:22 This was followed by another report by one of Taib's brothers claiming that his family

01:26 members did not know the former governor's whereabouts and were "gravely concerned" for

01:31 his health and safety.

01:33 However, Raghad denied the allegations, stating in an Instagram story with a photo of a note

01:39 believed to be from a nurse that she did not take Taib out of the hospital against doctor's

01:44 advice.

01:45 She emphasized that her sole concern was her husband's well-being and called for a stop
