Malaysia recently presented its national report of the Universal Periodic Review (UPR)
at the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva. This is the Malaysian Government’s fourth self-review of its human rights record—previous reviews were in 2009, 2013 and 2018. How much progress has Malaysia made in its human rights record, and what areas demand increased attention to bridge the gap?
