A criminal finds himself cornered during a police showdown and shoots himself so he can be taken to the hospital. He waits for his accomplices to rescue him but the detective figures out his plan.
Three is a 2016 Hong Kong–Chinese action-packed film produced and directed by Johnnie To Kei-fung (杜琪峯) and starring Vicky Zhao Wei (赵薇), Louis Koo Tin-lok (古天樂) and Wallace Chung Hon-leung (鍾漢良). The film was released on 24 June 2016 in China and 30 June 2016 in Hong Kong, while it is also the closing film of the 2016 Taipei Film Festival on 10 July 2016.
Shun (Wallace), a thug, is shot in the head by a cop due to miscommunication during an interrogation and is taken to the hospital. In the hospital, he claims human rights to refuse surgery to remove the bullet inside his head in order to bide time for his underlings to rescue him. Chief Inspector of Police Ken (Louis) sees through Shun's scheme but decides to play along so as to capture his whole gang once and for all.
