00:00 Hello, we have Detective Inspector Damien Forrest who led the investigation into Kyle
00:05 Edditt who is being jailed for life today. How shocked were the team at the ferocity
00:13 of his four day rampage?
00:16 These offences speak for themselves and they were shocking to us as experienced investigators
00:21 as they are to members of the public that are now only discovering the extent of his
00:26 violence and that just strengthened our resolve to find him and bring him to justice.
00:31 These events happened in Wolverhampton, how important was the support you got from the
00:35 community in bringing him to justice?
00:38 The offence is a shocking for anyone to see and especially happening over such a short
00:43 sustained period, four days, and the public responded to that exactly the way that I knew
00:49 they would and they came forward and they helped us with our inquiries, they cooperated
00:53 and ultimately they provided the information that allowed us to find him and arrest him.
00:58 What kind of man is he?
01:00 Kyle Edditt is a violent bully and he's a coward. He targeted the most vulnerable people
01:05 within Wolverhampton and took advantage of their vulnerabilities to make paltry amounts
01:11 of money for himself.
01:14 And do you welcome the fact that he won't be on the streets again for a very long time?
01:19 I for one am delighted that he won't be out on the streets for a long period of time and
01:25 that's both because justice needs to be seen to be done and secondly because the public
01:30 need to be protected from him.
