Fil-Am debuts at PNVF Champions League  Filipino-American spiker Brooke Van Sickle played her first game in the Philippines in the PNVF Champions League at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum on Sunday, February 4.  Van Sickle wasted no time in showing her caliber as the US-NCAA standout poured 16 points to lead Petro Gazz past Chery Tiggo, 25-11, 25-19, 25-19. 00:22 Oh, it's going really good.

00:24 I was only here, I got here like two weeks ago.

00:28 The first day I was not even here for 48 hours and I already felt like I was at home.

00:33 The girls were so welcoming, I couldn't be more grateful at all.

00:37 I'm super happy.

00:39 What can you say about the Philippine volleyball so far?

00:47 Yeah, this is legit.

00:51 I'm stoked to be able to be a part of this.

01:02 Have you been watching Philippine volleyball in the past?

01:05 I have, yes.

01:06 I've watched a couple games because I had multiple friends actually play here in the past.

01:11 I tuned in a couple of times.

01:13 Who are the players you're excited to play against?

01:17 Against?

01:18 I know there's another dual citizen, Savannah Davidson.

01:23 That would be cool to be able to get to see another dual and be able to play against each other and everything.

01:30 I already know the top teams are Greenline and Chocobo Cho, so that would be really exciting.

01:35 And even Cherry and...

01:39 I'm just kidding.

01:41 Okay, yeah, but they're very exciting.

01:44 How about playing for Japanese coach Koji?

01:48 It's new for me and all the girls.

01:51 He's a super good coach.

01:53 He knows what he's talking about.

01:54 He's definitely pushing our mental capacity in the gym, which is going to just show great things on the court.

02:01 I'm just excited to see how we develop as a team.

02:03 He's giving us good stuff.

02:06 What else are you looking forward to experience while you're here in the Philippines?

02:11 What am I excited for?

02:13 Obviously the volleyball, but the food, the culture, being able to immerse myself and

02:19 be able to get to know my teammates, create good relationships, and make this my second home.

02:25 How did Petrogas contact you to play here?

02:29 And why did you decide to play here in the Philippines?

02:32 Yeah, so my friend played now.

02:36 So I met her probably three years ago.

02:39 I've had friends in the past, too, like I mentioned, that played here in the PBL.

02:43 And they've always just said fantastic things.

02:46 It's just a different experience, like the best experience they've ever had in volleyball.

02:50 That's where the dream began.

02:52 And so maybe three months ago, I was actually teammates with Lindsey Van Der Weide.

02:58 So I ended up hitting her off and said, "Hey, can I have the contact information for Petro?"

03:03 And she took it out on me and everything, and that's how it started.
