00:00 What is all the love for the Barbie soundtrack and the movie in general meant to you?
00:04 it's just been nice to see people go back into the movie theaters as
00:10 And it's almost like in this period of time in American history
00:15 especially in America, but a lot in Europe too and a lot of places in the world seems like everybody's like
00:20 pointing fingers at the other person and seems like one of those movies that like everybody went to see and so
00:28 That the main idea behind the film was like accepting who you are and accepting other people for who they are
00:34 And I think that's like an amazing thing for the whole society to be in you know
00:38 Why do you think you and Mark make such a great collaborative team and dynamic duo and music?
00:43 we
00:45 We don't drive each other crazy somehow which is amazing and we have a lot of fun in the studio together
00:52 We have a lot of similar
00:54 Musical influences. I think we loved even though we didn't meet each other till we were like in our early 30s
01:00 We have a we love a lot of the same music and we grew up listening to a lot of the same music like when
01:05 We were really young and I think that gives us an in instinct that we each trust in the other a
01:11 lot of times
01:13 Songs from movies don't make it out of the best song written for visual media category
01:17 But of course dance tonight is nominated for song of the year. Why do you think it is resonated the way it has?
01:23 Well, I think mark and this is mark. He really knows how to make people move and do a you know
01:30 I mean mark and do a together is a great they gave you electricity. I will say that was my idea to get do on electricity, but
01:38 They just she does dance music so well and he does dance music so well that song is like
01:46 I just feel lucky to be on that one with them, you know, I helped I helped a little bit
01:50 But I think it's basically do is wonderful energy and marks incredible instinct with dance music
01:57 You know, it's so great. Yeah
01:59 I'm just Ken is nominated at the Oscars when you found that out. What was your reaction? I
02:04 was of course excited, you know just
02:08 You know, I don't know
02:11 You know I did you know, we we we won for shallow of course
02:17 So kind of takes a little bit of the pressure off you can just go have fun and you know
02:21 You're not trying to get an Oscar. I
02:25 Mean like a humble brag I guess or it's just a brag. Let's be honest. Oh, but but it was but it's it was
02:33 It's just fun to think about going there and seeing all that wonderful music
02:39 Performed and be there with your friends and people that you know and you get to meet so many nice people
02:45 Any update on what we can expect from the I'm just Ken performance because we are excited
02:50 Yeah, you know, I mean we're trying to find Ken. We don't know where he is. He's disappeared
02:57 He went back to Barbie land. He's missing. That's what I'm saying, you know, so we're we have we're out to him
03:03 You know, I don't know if he's gonna be able to make it
03:06 But what about the up the other Ken's like could we see see moo up on stage like my dream Ken performance is all of the
03:14 Ken's
