It is election year in the territory and while Canberrans won’t go to the poles for another nine months, campaigning has already begun.

00:57 The last election was held in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
01:01 Since then, inflation and interest rate rises have made cost of living pressures more acute.
01:06 But there's also been a change in government at the federal level since that last ACT election,
01:11 and the strains placed on the economy by the pandemic have subsided.
01:15 So all these changes and other issues have Canberrans thinking it's time for fresh leadership
